We have been coming here for 17 years. The service is always good, but the food has been very disappointing the last few years. Especially given how expensive it is. I grew up on Oahu, and know what Huli Huli Chicken should taste like. My dish was awful, and my family’s entrees were sub par as well. Won’t be back.
It was amazing!
Great food and service
This place never fails. 5th time there, service was amazing, the view can't be beat, and the food, oh the food.
Can't wait to go back.
Food was awful. Was awful last time and thought I would give it another try
The food was excellent. Unfortunately the food came out within minutes of our ordering and we were continually asked if we were done eating, making us feel rushed. The food may be good but the pressure to turn the table for the next guest made the meal feel cheap even though it was very expensive. We won’t go back.
The apps of Taste of Hawaii, seared scallops, poke were super!
My Mahi-mahi In curry was exquisite!
I eat dairy free and this menu was easy to make that happen!
Our party of 6 including 2 teens loved our sunset dinner!
Perfect evening in every aspect: food, drinks, service, setting. Our first time and we'll definitely be back.
The views were nice. Our server ignored us most of the time. Also, the food was just ok.
Love the setting which is why we returned to this restaurant after many years. The meat/fish quality was very good but scant sides and not filling. For the price, not a good value. Service was so-so. Not sure we’d return.
Absolutely delicious! Lots of families dining might not be exactly what is expected for a romantic dinner but the food was exquisite.
Food was excellent! Service was excellent! Very serene ambience! The only Suggestion I can make is to greatly improve on the gluten-free bread. It was very hard and dry.
Anniversary trip to Maui
Place was practically empty. Waiter was cold and unfriendly. Food was good but not outstanding. Cocktails were especially good. Water surrounding the restaurant had a foul odor. The Grand Wailea should have a much better dining option than Humuhumu.
It was perfect
Tasty food good service.
Food choices were poor! Chairs were uncomfortable. Facility is dated. There are way better choices in the area for the same price. Avoid this place!
Outdoor restaurant in the Grand Wailea Hotel. Despite some of the negative reviews, we tried it out because the menu looked interesting, and we had a great experience! Mostly due to the amazing service and the mix of fusion flavors in each bite.
Ordered the octopus bao buns, which were so delicious...bread was so soft and the tako cooked perfect! I had the seared ahi and foie gras which was interesting, but very tasty (I love foie gras). Husband got the kampachi which he loved as it paired well with the crab and risotto. My toddler had the Mahi Mahi over noodles which was perfect. Desserts were amazing: coconut cream gelato in dark choco tasted like haupia, and the mango lilikoi dessert was sweet yet citrus flavored.
Very hot and uncomfortable, needs fans on hot days!
Food was delicious and the setting was absolutely gorgeous! We had an amazing view of the ocean and the sunset. The service was friendly and very knowledgable. We truly enjoyed our experience here... We had such a lovely romantic dinner for two.. Thank you! :)
Great place to dine! Absolutely beautiful ambiance.
An excellent choice for experiencing a bit of old Hawaii. Wonderful Hawaiian style music, lovely views and outstanding service and food.
This was our second time eating here. I remember being more “wowed” last time, maybe because Bruno Mars was sitting next to us. Ambience after the sun goes down is diminished. It’s so dark in the restaurant and the surrounding lagoon that you can’t enjoy the scenery. We were late coming in for our reservation because there was heavy traffic in Lahaina. We hadn’t experienced that on the last trip so were surprised. Who knew there was rush hour on Maui? Anyway, by the time we arrived, the sun had set and I really wish they would use ambient lighting in and around the restaurant so nighttime diners could enjoy the views. The menu choices were just so-so. I had the chicken but it was relatively bland. I was disappointed that they didn’t have more seafood. It was also harder for the kids to find things they liked. My son loved the steak, so he was happy. But my daughter had a harder time so she wound up with steamed rice and teriyaki chicken. Which was good, but something you can get anywhere. It was just.....meh. I was so impressed 5 years ago and I’m wondering if anything has changed. They just seemed “off their game” somehow. It was my son’s birthday so I guess I expected something.....more? They said they had a dessert for him but we had cake back at home so we passed on it. That might have been nice. I don’t know....it was just missing something.
Larry, our server, was fabulous!!
Have eaten there several times. Great location, food and service (Patrick). Highly recommend.
Beautiful setting. Delicious food. We went here two nights in a row. And the third night I was sorry we hadn’t gone back.
Overall pretty good time here. They appeared to be having some troubles with their sound system as sometimes it would get really loud but they would always be quick to adjust. I thought the food overall was good but you might find better value elsewhere as the portion sizes are smaller here compared to other places in the area
Best mai tai on Maui we believe. Food is pricey but good. Not extraordinary but certainly worth coming back again. Great ambiance and always great service.
It was good, but not great.
Beautiful ocean view restaurant. Great food and gorgeous view at sunset.
Amazing location and setting. The food was amazing....the ahi and fois gras was so good. Also had the pork belly appetizer which was as good as we hoped. The place is loud and we had a huge party with kids behind us. But we got a table right in front with a nice view. It was a heat wave while we were on the island and it was hot bc everything is open The drinks were also very good. Had the rum old fashioned and my daughter had a Smokey tequila drink. We would go back
The food was amazing! It’s my second time coming back already, and never did once HumuHumu failed my expectations. Elise and Fred gave an exceptional service with whatever we needed.
Wonderful food, drinks and ambience. Perfect for a sisters bonding trip!
This restaurant is beautiful. It is set up like a floating fishing village, with water features and a terrific view of the ocean from the front bar area. Food was good, but it was really the ambiance/view that is worth the visit. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.
Humu is always incredible, another exceptional night of excellent service and drinks, Ashley our server was wonderful and Taj, the bartender made delightful Grands is his cheerful hospitality.
Great meal, bartender was very nice. Service was beyond my expectations. Food was great. The staff gave my grandson a stuffed animal. Thanks for the great evening.
My wife and I had an amazing dinner at Humuhumu. Food was delicious. Staff was wonderful. Overall would recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Maui.
