Humphry’s offers table d"hôte and à la carte lunch menus, as well as a three course dinner menu offering Modern British cuisine with a twist, featuring plenty of Chris’ signature dishes. The stunning decor, luxury ambience and panoramic views of the estate and lake deliver the perfect setting for a lasting experience.
Wonderful 5 star experience we will talk about for years
As soon as we got in we were looked after and given some little starters to have. The food was amazing and the service was great.
My friend and I had THE most amazing meal at Humphry’s. I only discovered Stoke Park recently and I’m moving to Berks but it’s worth making repeated trips back for!
We had the sublime taster menu with wine pairing, preceded by a wonderful champagne cocktail (me) and beer for my colleague. Canapés to start, 7 courses and a sweet surprise to finish with coffee. A rare but very appreciated treat. Fine dining is meant to be savoured and this is fine dining at its best
Wonderful setting, ambience, friendly attentive staff, creative and talented kitchen team and of course Chef Chris Wheeler at the helm. All I can say is don’t waste time, book in, this is a jewel in the culinary crown locally
I felt like the view was beautiful restaurant and the food was great I felt like the staff was really nice including the lady called Monique very professional and made me feel really welcome and everything that I instructed for our anniversary was well presented.
This is a fantastic place to visit. The location is stunning and the food is incredible. The tasting menu is amazing. Every single member of staff that spoke to us were very polite, friendly and welcoming. This was one of the best places I have even been to. I really recommend it for a special occasion.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Humphry's on Sunday. The service is excellent - they do their utmost to ensure that their guests have a delightful experience. The food is delicious with flavours and textures carefully balanced. I cannot commend Humphry's highly enough.
Great venue / location, service and value for money. Couldn't fault it at all.
Lovely sunny evening pre dinner drinks outside at tables on lawn, amazing views, but very slow table service, and classically overpriced drinks. Table alignment and seating arrangement no sense of intamacy, more like a railway station waiting room. Service Station and Technology right behind table which could surely be housed more discreetly elsewhere in the room. Ambience improved as tables were occupied. Good Service in restaurant, excellent food, from pre starters to desert. All very well presented. Outside service, seating arrangements and early ambiance let down the food.
Great service with fabulous creative food. Everything was perfect from the Prosecco on the terrace to the coffee at the end of the meal. It was pricey but well worth it, particularly for a special occasion.
This restaurant has a delightful setting in the main house at Stoke Park but does not deliver to the requisite standard. The staff are friendly but we were kept waiting for pre-dinner drinks and wine service on a night when the restaurant was not full. The menu is expensive at £68 per head: amuse bouche and starters were pleasant and light, but main dishes of beef and fish were over-cooked with unappealing vegetables and dessert was average.
We had Sunday lunch. The service was excellent. We entered the hotel, and we were shown to the restaurant. The food was lovely. We really enjoyed.
Had the set lunch and it was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. Can't wait to go back!
Great setting, delicious food, excellent service. No complaints.
Beautiful restaurant with the most attentive staff. Amazing food and service.
The experience was absolutely amazing! The staff was outstanding and timed everything perfectly. I was proactively asked if there were any dietary requirements, which worked perfectly since I am Vegetarian.
Only small detail...was when acknowledged for the first time, the name was wrong. But then with Golembiewski in my name, I am not making things easy!
Thank you everyone!
I took my wife to lunch for her birthday. The service and the food were excellent.
The best fine dining restaurant in the area. Greatreatfood wineandviews
Very smart restaurant with attentive but discreet service. Ornate platings of interesting combinations resulted in a refined and delicious meal. Historic surroundings and the sense of exclusivity make this a special occasion destination.
Very welcoming on arrival, courteous staff who provide first class service. Excellent food, plenty of choice and with delicious added extras, all for an incredible price. Fantastic value for money. Sumptuous surroundings but never pretentious, just a relaxing but special lunch. DC
A beautiful setting, attentive service and excellent food. A wonderful experience for a special occasion.
An accidental find that turned out to be a wonderful evening of good food, good wine and great service.
A perfect way to celebrate our Wedding anniversary. Food was outstanding in a wonderful setting
although very busy on the outside with golfers etc . Humphrys maintains a very exclusive but friendly ambience. Service and food was excellent.
The food was very good, although very expensive once the wine was added to the bill. The service was good with plenty of staff - the only negative was that the white wine was removed from the table to keep chilled elsewhere, and the waiters did not remember to refill glasses until asked at the very end whether there was any white wine left. We enjoyed our meal and the occasion and would come again, although it would have to be only for a special occasion, due to the price.
Great location, food and service of the highest standard, will be going again soon.
No other words than excellent all round, my favourite place!
We were disappointed that we had to eat the Canapes almost in the Reception area.
The Roast Beef in the Sunday Lunch Menu appeared to have been reheated in gravy and not freshly cooked from a joint for the Sunday Lunch.
We understood from the information on the internet the chief was Chris Wheeler but understand that he was on holiday .
The member of staff who advised on the Red Wine choice would give him five stars!!!
This is a great restaurant - lovely elegant surroundings with first class service and outstanding food . Its a very relaxing experience and you feel the waiters take a pride and enjoyment in serving at such a class venue.
A splendid restaurant, I have been dining there on several occasions and always first class service and food, very relaxed and non pretentious
seasonal lunch menu is great and reasonably priced so is a set menu for Sunday lunch
Highly recommend it
From the bubbly in the garden with canapés to the last mouthful of dessert, it was a fabulous experience. Welcoming, super and unobtrusive service, and unstuffy!
Delicious and beautiful food.
Excellent service together with venue ambience made it special. The unexpected 'Happy Birthday' pre-dessert was a unforgettable feature.
The food and wine was overpriced but the setting is very nice and the staff try hard
Such a joy to eat at Humphries. Serving consistently top quality food it also has a great wine selection and the service is excellent
Underwhelming food - nothing really wrong with it, but for this money you expect real statement dining and it's a long way from that.
We celebrated Valentines Day at Humphrys in the beautiful Stoke Park. We had the 3 course menu with great cocktails and friendly service. Beautifully presented food. The chocolate box dessert was the standout course for me. I would definitely recommend going back for lunch when you can explore the grounds.
A rather lovely, grand building - somewhat marred by the golf club atmosphere.
The lunch at Humphrey's was beautifully presented and delicious: a good combination of delicate flavours. The service was friendly and efficient. However, the restaurant lacked that "something special." It wasn't worth the journey from Kent.
Great for that 'special' occasion. Service was excellent - nothing was too much trouble. All felt very grand. Food was lovely, but rather small portions as would be expected. Save it for a romantic lunch or dinner - A bit too posh for anything else.
Great food yet again. Love the amuse bouche- always a mystery! The staff cannot be faulted. Great value for money-am reluctant to share with others!
This was my second visit to Stoke Park and the friendly and professional staff never fail to make you feel like a very special guest. Chris once again served up outstanding food, I would recommend the duck or beef. I would like to go back for afternoon tea next time.
Excellent. As it was the first time we had been there, I wasn't sure where the restaurant was, so a sign would have been helpful, or perhaps I missed it, in which case it could have been more prominent. However, once inside it was a delight. The staff were perfect. Lovely decor, felt very special. We had a very pleasant drink before eating and the waiter made an excellent suggestion for my friend's cocktail. We were having the set price lunch which offered a very good selection. We both had the lobster bisque with ravioli to start. The bisque was sensational, although I found the ravioli pasta a touch heavy. For the main I had the beef which was prepared exactly as I requested. I had the Apple tart for pud, which was slightly disappointing, my friend had chocolate - with passionfruit sorbet, which was outstanding.
Not cheap but definitely great value, I would recommend it for a special occasion.
The only blot on the occasion was that my friend has difficulty walking, but the disabled parking spaces were all taken by people who couldnt be bothered to park elsewhere.
