This is the second time I've been to Humphrey's (albeit the first time was about 10 years ago); we don't make it down to San Diego that often (from San Francisco). The view of the water is nice while dining. The variety for brunch (Father's Day) was great. Tender prime rib. Lots of seafood. Plentiful desserts.
We ended up sitting at the ballroom
They sat us at a really bad table
I had to go to the front desk to ask for a better one. They took us to the ballroom.
Which is not the top.
The food was good. The service ok.
Maybe it’s better on a non-holiday occasion.
It was a Great Fathers Day brunch. The food was great, the service was also great. We wish there had been more fish dishes, although there was quite a variety of shellfish. The only other thing was with the 2 hour table limit it made us feel rushed.
Overall it was enjoyed
Very limited fare for gluten-free people. Friend got sick next day. I had the scallops - 3 of them - for $33. Ten dollars a scallop pricey even though it was good. View beautiful. Been here many times but it wasn’t up to par today.
Excellent Food & fair prices. Excellent service. Great live music in the bar. Beautiful view of the marina & Point Loma.
The food was not at all good. We used to love Humphrey’s but the quality is just not there.
I made a late reservation , and got a table by the window, Lindsey was our waitress, She was the best ever, She wen out of Her way so My wife enjoyed Her special day a lot more, and the food is always excellent.
We had the halibut and salmon. Both were excellent! View was beautiful and service was exceptional.
Food was very good as well as JoAnn our server. Very nice waterfront atmosphere with many sailboats in the Marina. Would definitely recommend. Salmon with a small crabcake on top was excellent as well as side dishes of Mac & Cheese & cauliflower. Desserts were a hit too!
Everyone was friendly and the service was amazing.
We absolutely love going here for any occasion (Happy Hour, lunch, brunch on special occasions). The service is always phenomenal, the view is outstanding, the food & drinks are enjoyable.
We went here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We got a table right next to the window overlooking the marina, the view was spectacular. We shared the crab cake it was delicious. I got the lamb, it was just amazing. It was so tender and melted in my mouth. My husband got the ahi tuna, it was cooked perfectly. They were so sweet and brought out a dessert to help us celebrate. The manager was so nice and waived our fee to get in next door to see the live music. Everyone was so nice, i’m so glad we chose this spot for our special evening.
It was great !
This was our first time doing the Sunday Brunch, treated our very good friends for their 41st wedding anniversary. The buffet that included everything you would expect and more, the attentive service, the ambience and the view from our table was absolutely fabulous, we are looking forward to coming here again very soon!
Enjoyed most everything but the music from the lounge was a bit too loud for intimate conversation.
A pleasant venue. Food adequate for a buffet. Service helpful and attentive.
Great food! Very fresh sea food! Great service nice bay view.
Our dining experience was very nice. The food was good. The drinks were good and the service was good. After diner we went in the lounge and listened to the band for a while. The band was very good.
The only negative comment I have is that when we made reservations 2 weeks before, we specifically asked for a table by the windows because we wanted the view. Our reservations were for 6PM. When we were seated we were told that people that came in before 6 took all the window tables. If I asked for one when I made reservations, one should have been reserved for us.
My mother and I made a reservation for 12:30PM. When we arrived we had to wait much longer than expected to be seated at our table. Once seated it took 20 minutes before any waitress made their way to our table, we had to wave one down who wasn't even for our "section" we ordered everything at once drinks and food because we had already waited so long. We ordered a glass of wine and a margarita. The wine came first and I was told by the waitress as soon as I can get into the bar I will make your drink. Very strange. Finally my margarita came and it was Undrinkable! I had to get a busser to take the drink back and asked him to bring me a glass of wine. Everything took way to long, the restaurant was not very busy. Once our food came my son did not get his side of fruit, waitress said fruit was not ready that she had to cut it. The fruit did not arrive until he was basically done with his meal. This place is very poorly managed and we will never come back and would tell people not to come to this restaurant. The only positive was the busser who continued to bring us things that we needed.
Nothing to write home about. Mussels were completely dried and overdone, oysters were smelly, eggs Benedictine seemed to have been done 10 hours before
WOW! The inside of Humphrey's is amazing. Very updated décor and amazing views. The food was excellent and the service was incredible. Joanne our server was very attentive and went over the wine list and menu options. I had the macadamia crusted halibut and it was delicious! My husband had the scallops and said they were the best he has had. If you haven't been to this gem in a while, it's time to go check it out.
Parking lot has been torn up for 3 months so no parking or valet service. Ample parking across the street but with two leg surgeries, I was furious this was not on their website. Upon inquiry, manager said "why would we post that to deter people from coming ? " . Well how about telling the truth !! Manager could have cared less and Humphreys is not the only ticket in town !!
The brunch was delicious. Lots of choices. Cheree was an excellent server. She gave us lots of attention and was very charming.
I went for Sunday brunch and it was my first time dining at Humphreys. The service and atmosphere was great. The brunch selection was decent. The negatives were that the hot food wasn't hot and the crab legs were very dry and flavorless. The server brought the drawn butter to the table. It was slightly above room temperature and didn't have any flavor. I don't think I will return there again for brunch.
We had a terrific time! Our servers were very attentive - without hovering, and were always smiling. The Prime Rib was absolutely fantastic - it's hard to find a carving station that actually has some Prime Rib that is cooked well done! The variety of food on the buffet was great, with a good mix of classics & trending dishes. We will definitely be back to Humphrey's soon!
We've been having brunch at Humphreys for years! It has a gorgeous view of the bay marina & the food is great! Carve station, omelette's, seafood & of course Champagne! If you haven't been you are missing a wonderful experience 😀
It had been a long time since I've been to this restaurant but I completely enjoyed it it was fantastic really the food was so good and then we danced our butts off next door in the bar all for the same price fantastic will do it again the band was great Groove Matic
With so very many options available to San Diegans, food quality, menus diversification and water side ambiance become simple qualifiers. It is nice to experience an eatery that pays less attention to trends and fashion and focuses on great quality, value for money and exceptional service.
My guests and I would like to extend a special thank you to Ms. Lyndsey for making an Anniversary celebration memorable and gratifying. If there is an occasion or a sunny day to be shared with a special friend, you can not miss with a lazy champagne drenched Sunday afternoon on Shelter Island. Thank you Lyndsey. Thank you Humphreys.
We were seated as soon as we showed up for our reservation. The food was delicious, lots of selections and the drinks were free flowing throughout. The service was excellent and the price is worth it. Thank you very much.
Celebrated 30th wedding anniversary went for the Sunday Brunch. Great atmosphere and food
Had a great time for Easter Brunch. The food selection was plenty and the service was great. The only negative thing to say was our table for 2 was in a high traffic , crowded, busy area of the restaurant. Restaurant Staff and patrons constantly walking by our table. They should remove this table.
Great place to dine for a special occasion. Staff was very professional and friendly. Highly recommend the Sunday Brunch.
They put a two hour time limit on our table but only gave us 1:30 hrs to dine, dropped off the check after an hour and tried to kick us out of the table before the 2 hour time limit ( that wasn’t mentioned until we arrived for our reservation, which we had to wait half hour for). Loved the view, the host was kind and polite, the server was kind but paying $70 per person for brunch and not being able to enjoy our meal with out being pushed out ruined the experience.
My wife and I enjoyed Easter Brunch at Humphrey's. The champagne was flowing, the food was delicious, the view of the marina mesmerizing, and the service (from Jackie) was attentive. The selection of food items was extensive. We had a great time!
We had a great time at the Sunday Jazz brunch for my husbands birthday. Great service, ( thank you lori) fabulous food and a of course great jazz.
Fabulous brunch! Huge selection of delicious food, beautiful view. The comfy, upholstered arm chairs invite you to linger and enjoy the buffet and the view.
Excellent food, service, etc. Beautiful view of marina and Point Loma. Very quiet at lunch.
Great setting, excellent service - but the breakfast was just OK. Chiliquiles were a disappointment. No gluten-free breads. Lots of places offer better breakfasts. Try Snooze, Breakfast Republic, the Fig Tree
Food was great but the $50 is a little overpriced. The restaurant is beautiful but it was very loud when we were there
Great for Sunday brunch!
I enjoyed my time , this my 3rd time being here the atmosphere was incredible Love it . RB
