The Hummus Caf, located in Seattle, Washington, is a restaurant concentrating on serving Egyptian and Mediterranean food. The restaurant is family-owned and is known for serving meals that are made entirely from scratch. There is also an effort made at the Hummus Caf to use meats of the highest quality, the freshest produce and rich spices to achieve the kind of exotic flavors for which Mediterranean cuisine is known.
One of the specialties on the menu at the Hummus Caf is the falafel plate, which allows diners to enjoy vegetarian fritters filled with chick peas and fava beans. In addition, the Hummus Caf also tasty meat entres, such as the chicken shawarma or the kofta kebab, which includes ground beef and lamb.
After visiting the King Tut exhibition going on at the Pacific Science Center, we decided to try to find an Egyptian restaurant to complete the experience. The Hummus Cafe out in Greenwood certainly fit the bill. The exterior was unassuming, but the interior was cozy and the staff was very nice. The food was very tasty, my favorite being the falafel and the grilled chicken kebab. The portions were healthy and the prices reasonable. No hesitation at all in recommending this restaurant, except that perhaps next time it will be so busy we won't be able to get a table :)
