The service was great, and the food overall was not bad. I would eat here again. Some things were spectacular, like the fried broccoli and the key lime pie, but most things were just "meh" and kind of pricey for being average food quality. The drinks were crafted quite nicely and were very yummy. I would not avoid this place, but would come back for drinks and appetizers.
We love Humboldt Farm & Fish. Great food, great service, and creative drinks.
Still the best burger in Denver. Everything else was delicious too. And not terribly expensive.
Overall good and will go back. The service was good. The waiter recommended the short rib but we’ve had better. It was cooked well but flavor was one dimensional. Tuna tartare was fresh but maybe a bit heavy on rice. Good wine selection.
Our waiter was amazing. Great personality!
The food was delicious and dinner was an excellent value. The Wine manager was very knowledgable, and helped us pick a great bottle. This is not a super-fancy place, but the service was good, and the main courses (steak and trout special) and desserts were fresh and very tasty. The jazz was also very nice to listen to during dinner. We will be back!
My husband and I went here for Saturday dinner during their live jazz night and it was wonderful! The jazz was lovely, the food was fantastic, and the service was superb. Their seafood is very fresh - get the oysters. We got the following dishes and would recommend them all:
Oysters, fried calamari, roasted beets appetizer, half portion of the goat cheese ravioli, short ribs entree with a side of sweet potato puree. We will be back.
Very good food. Very good service. But extremely expensive and painfully loud. Would not suffer through that again.
The food and waiter was very good. The noise level from the jazz music was a little too loud. While enjoyable, the volume should have been turned down so people did not have to lean over to table to hear and speak to their dinner guests. Otherwise, enjoyed our dinner out.
As always, food & presentation & service was top o' the line. We'll return when we're ready for a special evening.
Seriously good food. A welcomed go-to for good food in a great space.
My husband & I wanted yo celebrate it being Friday, so this restaurant was a great way to bring in the weekend
One of my favorite restaurants in Denver. It is a terrific menu; nothing trendy or weird or gimmicky. None of that "small plates" nonsense that is viral among today's restaurants, with menus full of things that don't go together to the point that you feel as if you are eating all the leftovers from someone's refrigerator. Of course you can CHOOSE small plates if you want, from their extensive list of great appetizers, which is as it should be. The shishito peppers and the calamari are wonderful here. The entrees are all phenomenal, and the chocolate cake; divine.
Your food and service are wonderful, but the best part is the live mellow jazz on Saturday nights! Love the ambiance...thanks for having live music!
Lovely brunch with bottomless mimisas and attentive, unobtrusive service. Every bite a delight.
I wrote in Open Table notes that our party would include both a toddler and his hard-of-hearing grandfather. We were greeted by friendly staff with a coloring sheet and crayons and seated in a quiet corner table.
Delicious food, excellent service, beautiful design. A wonderful experience on every level.
The service was great- the waiter in training was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. I got one of the specials this time, and I’m glad I did! The trout and the crab on top was phenomenal! Will eat here again!
Our lunch was excellent. Haven't been there since it was "Strings" years ago. They have done a nice job updating it and I look forward to having lunch or dinner there.
The service and food was outstanding. We ate in the back room which was quiet and allowed for conversation.
Great place. We were seated in the back room which was very quiet. Excellent attentive service. And the prices were reasonable.
The atmosphere was perfect for a business dinner, not too “warm and cozy” but also not “loud and boisterous.” Our server, Nicole was perfectly attentive yet not intrusive. She was knowledgable about the regular dinner menu and was equally confident with the featured special offerings. Our entrees were perfectly prepared and delicious. I will definitely be back!
Always great food, drinks and service.
Great food. Good service & nice ambiance
Great live jazz quartet!
This was our first experience at the Humboldt Farm Fish. The food was wonderful and staff were very attentive. Ambience was great. We were there on a Saturday evening and had the bonus of live music.
The food is excellent and unique. The jazz band on Saturday nights was delightful. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Walking in the rain!
As always, our dinner at Humboldt was great. Great services, food, and wine. We live about 7 blocks away from from the 17th and Humboldt so we always walk to and from dinner. While we knew it might be sprinkling when we took off, we didn't expect the rain storm when we came out. It was a fast walk home but, worth the great time that we enjoyed inside the Humboldt. It's worth the effort for the great food, wine, and service. We can't wait until the patio opens up.
Thanks! Don & Patti
This was great for a family and friends dinner. Made a reservation a couple weeks in advance for a group of 7 and it worked out perfectly. Service was excellent and all the entrees were wonderful. Trout was a favorite. This is our go to place for this kind of dinner.
Excellent, would definitely go here again.
This restaurant did not disappoint. Me and my daughter were looking for something new to try. What an absolute delight! The ambience, the cuisine and the service all Top of the Line! Our server, Nicole, topped off the experience with her exemplary service. Lovely restaurant, Lovely cuisine, Lovely service! Five stars, hands down! Thank you, Humboldt, for a Lovely culinary experience!
PARKING SUCKED I HAD TO PARK 6 BLOCKS AWAY. I WAS TOLD VALET BEGINS AT 5 WE WERE THERE FOR SUNDAY BRUNCH. WE WILL NOT GO BACK UNTIL SOMETHING HAS BEEN FIGURED OUT ABOUT THE PARKING SITUATION.
Always enjoy my visit to Humboldt. Fisrt time for brunch which was excellent.
Great brunch with the family in Denver
Great place to go in cute Denver neighborhood! Food was delicious and creative, service very friendly and helpful!
Great food, great service.
This has been one of my favorite restaurants for the past four years, I especially go when craving a good burger. The service we had on Sunday evening was poor. (I gave her two stars because she was friendly.) Server was nice and outgoing, but lacked knowledge in your menu and wine. I finished my beverage halfway through my meal and was never asked again by the server if I wanted another drink. Not only that, she left my empty glass sitting on the table for the duration of our stay, despite several visits to our table to clear plates, inquire about dessert, etc. Note to management: I was good for two more drinks, and I'm pretty sure a good chunk of any restaurant's revenue comes from alcoholic beverages so this is a bit surprising. It's as if you don't need the business. Last time I checked it's not easy to keep a good restaurant alive, but rather it takes persistence and consistency. Lastly, the server dropped us a dessert menu and we didn't see her again for 15-20 minutes. It doesn't take 15 minutes to choose between four desserts on the menu. The whole experience got really drawn out for no reason. We were there for an un-necessary 2+ hours, and might I also add, that the restaurant was not busy in the slightest, so there would really be no good excuse for the lack of attentiveness in the end. Maybe it wasn't busy for a reason. Is this place going downhill or is it my imagination? Or perhaps just an off night? Lastly, while my wife and Aunt were chatting over dessert, I wanted to take a walk and puff on a cigar... I had forgotten my lighter. I know it's not your obligation to provide a lighter due to your guest's absent mindedness, but look-- it would be nice if your Host/Hostess kept a book of matches at the podium. It's just basic old school hospitality. I once worked as a Host of a fine dining restaurant, and I was never without a book of matches in my drawer for this very reason. I mean, why not? In the end, it is all about service, right?
This was my fourth visit and it's consistently great! Food is amazing and service is the best.
