Great service from Brian, we loved the chicken!
Hula Grill was amazing! A little pricey, but still worth while.
Great experience, as usual!
The waitress was slow initially, however they did improve. The food was mediocre.
Lovely evening with my husband listening to Hawaiian music and diving in delectable food.
Really nice except for the fact that we made reservations for at in advance and we were seated in the sun. We were not thrilled about that.
We had a great dinner here, as usual. For an appetizer we shared the lobster, scallop and a grilled beef tenderloin. Good cocktails to start and a nice bottle of Cabernet. Great service from Montana, whom we remembered from previous years. Highly recommended!
The waiter didn’t give us our bread. I asked the bus boy when they were giving us our appetizers. He said he had to tell our waiter to get it for us and he couldn’t. 10 minutes later our waiter came by with our bread after our apps were already eaten and made a comment that we knew about their secret bread and to not tell others about it because it will get too crazy. I found this rude and none of the other reviewers prior mentioned they had to ask for bread. I just told him we were waiting to get a reservation for here and that we were looking forward for the bread from reviews.
The food was tasty but sauces were all on the spicy side. My wife and I came dressed up but most of the guests were not which is fine but they sat us in the sand with people that were in beach swimsuits and sandals were sitting. I got sand all in my sneakers and socks which I hate. I wouldn’t have minded but they should be a tune to how we were dressed and that was going to be an issue for us. There was a toddler building a sand castle and they had to ask her to move right where they sat us (that’s how much sand there was). Other than that, the place was busy but we waited way too long to get water. Most of the places we have sat in just give a pitcher of water if it’s busy but this place not only didn’t do that but also neglected to come by often and refill. We ordered 2 drinks, 2 appetizers, two meals. Then the sun started to set and a musician started playing. Most other tables were lingering around for the music and sunset but we actually felt bad so ordered two more drinks. 5 minutes in and 25% into our drinks our waiter comes back and asks us “are we just relaxing?” I understand they are busy and need tables but we had at that point a $140 bill worth of items and were technically still not close to finishing our beers. The final nail on the coffin is he brings out the bill and congratulates us on our anniversary. It was not our anniversary but our honeymoon!
This was prob one of the worst dinning experiences I’ve had. There to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. Made reservations and we were sat at a table where the sun hit directly in my husbands eyes the ENTIRE time. Even moving the table a few feet could have solved it but we were told, yeah it’s this table at the time. WTF? Don’t sit anyone there than. The waitress had a few tables but we hardly saw her. They just kept piling plates on our table without ever clearing them. I finally asked someone to take our empty app plates that I had stacked in the middle of the table AFTER our entrees were served. My 3 year old sons plate was HOT, like burn your hand hot. Why would you ever bring child’s plate like that? The waitress messed up my husbands order. Brough him a veggie burger instead of a burger and then tried to say that’s what he ordered. Never offered us a dessert menu and it took us 30 mins to find our waitress to get our check and get out. Tables that came after us left before us. The food was OK. Nothing special to write home about. Many other restaurants that are welcoming with was better food. This was so disappointing and the first time I’ve ever left a bad review at any restaurant. I didn’t expect 5 star dining but did expect to be treated like a valued customer.
Our food here on our 2nd visit was fantastic. Service, however, was lacking this visit. Our waiter overall ignored us. We had to ask for the complimentary bread and he seemed surprised that we would want bread. We had to ask for drink refills and he seemed surprised that we would want more drinks. A lady came over with drink refills and said she hadn't brought lemonade refills and asked if we wanted them. We were done with our meals so we said we didn't want them. A different lady showed up about a minute later with 2 lemonades and set them down. We didn't say anything about it and we didn't drink them because we were getting ready to leave. Turns out they charged us for them- $5 each - when we didn't ask for them and didn't drink them. We didn't waste time trying to find someone to get the bill adjusted because of the lengthy times between when we saw our server. But again, the food itself was delicious. Our waiter needed additional training on how to pay attention to all of his tables.
The hostess was rude. The food was expensive and not really worth the price.
We had to send back the special four times for burnt fish! Hula pie and pineapple pie were great! Tomato soup was yummy according to my dad! Staff and manager were super friendly!!
Vacation time it was amazing
Great sunset with great service - we enjoyed the evening
Great view great service just unfortunately cannot enjoy the food when there are bugs all over the table. There were five flying that stuck to my napkin tens stuck to the pitcher of water with some floated inside. Stuck to the bread that we were eating it was so gross. But if you drink your drink quickly and keep your hand or napkin on top the gnats won’t ruin it.
We almost always visit Hula Grill once when on the island. It’s consistently okay. We mostly go for the outdoor dining, view and ambiance. The drinks are always great.
It was good, but not worth $49 a plate in my opinion. We ate better fish by far (had mahi mahi both places)at Paia Fish Market and it didn’t come with many sides. If you wanted those it was an extra $8. The carrots were amazing and you get a lot (enough to share) but at $8 it was just a bit overpriced. We still had a lovely night. They wouldn’t seat us outside even though we had booked for sunset. So the ambience was meh. Wouldn’t go again, but that’s just us.
We were here for our honeymoon! Our server was fantastic and we loved the vibe of the restaurant. Food was good, they bring out house made focaccia and it is to die for! Great meal on our trip!
Amazing food and view
Great service, immediate seating with reservations. Food was fantastic!
Montana was our server and was working very hard! He did a fantastic job and took care of our every need. The macadamia crusted mahi was the best I had in Maui and I had several. My husband said his filet was excellent. We brought home our complimentary homemade focaccia. It was so delicious! We couldn’t leave it there!
Excellent experience from the host stand, to our server to the food!
We had a great time and delicious dinner at the Hula Grill.
Visit the Hula Grill every time we are in Maui. My husband said the ribeye steak was the best he had ever had. Nice service, good wine list.
Great view, oceanfront dining. Excellent food, service and experience.
It was excellent
The Seafood Chowder was amazing and the Grilled Ahi was fantastic. Pan Crusted Mahi is always a hit. Great Mai-Tai's of course and my son says they have the best pineapple juice on the island!
First night in Hawaii and made reservations at Hula. The food was good, not the best but, not bad. So convenient because it is walking distance from hotel!! I would go back again, definitely make reservations in advance!
We ❤️Gilet w beautiful Maui onion Demi glacé, organic carrots, potatoes!
Our waitress was very attentive and
A good communicator!
Had heard such good things but disappointed over all. Food & service was just average. Beautiful location though.
The service was outstanding. Some of our steaks were a little tough and slightly under cooked. Our waiter went above and beyond to make it right and it was greatly appreciated. Overall it was good and would give it another shot.
The waiter i believe his name was Will, took excellent care of us. He gave drink recommendations and food recommendations that were on point. The food and drinks were amazing. The view was off the charts.
Had an amazing meal and service again. Still
Socially distanced tables but we had one right next to the pathway and the amazing sunset which was perfect for our family of 5.
Macadamia nut crusted fresh mahi mahi-mahi was delicious.
There were 10 of us there to celebrate my nieces’s 16th birthday and did NOT have good experience at all. 8 out of the 10 of us there ordered burgers, and majority of them went back and twice. The burgers were not cooked and after sending them back you would think the second time they could get it right, but no,all burgers went back a second time. All we ate for dinner were French fries, It was fun to be there but we will not go back again. We did speak with the manager, she apologized and did not charge us for any burgers. She explained that the cook was slammed with orders, but if you are a good cook, you should be able to handle it when its busy. Our server was nice and apologetic, but very slow tending to us too. Not a good experience for us, and here we choose this. what appeared to look like a fun restaurant for my niece’s birthday celebration. They did provide my niece with a nice dessert. No more Hula Grill for us.
The food was horrible. I got a burger and it was very undercooked and my bun was frozen in the middle. Dodd was very plain as well. Not worth the hype.
Drinks and dessert were yummy. Filet special not that good. Meat was good but not the sauce. Daughter didn’t like her fish and chips.
Beautiful setting and amazing food! It’s a MUST DO when in Maui!
We ordered the ribeye, chicken, seared ahi plates. All good. Prices are very reasonable and not expensive like Mama’s Fish House which is overpriced for the same quality food and ambiance.
One of our favorite consistent restaurants in Maui. Love the laid back atmosphere and vibe. Definitely need reservations right now if you can get them. The Hula Pie is to die for!
