Had the fish tacos. They were amazing. Came back for dinner and had the steak and prawns. Wife had the encrusted magic mahi topped with crab. Excellent!!!

Had a fun time and good food at Hula Grill , great waitress , nice outdoor table near the boardwalk . Will definitely come back !

Have to climb some stairs to get there. And ding room is another floor up. Scenic rooftop setting with good ocean views but some angles disrupted by power lines. Comfortable table seating. Service was pretty good but our server didn’t know how to pour wine. Would have filled our glasses if we didn’t stop her. Food is well prepared but just average overall. In our time on Maui’s west coast 1 time visit was enough. Nit disappointed just not awed.
Hula Grill never disappoints! Great fish and steak entrees and the Hula Pie cannot be missed. Love this place.

Food was good. Service was ok, waited long times for simple requests (a spoon)and often had to ask multiple times. VERY noisy and difficult to have conversation. Beautiful views of sunsets. Keiki meal was served on an extremely HOT plate.

We had the crab topped macadamia nut crusted mahi-mahi. Very good, best meal I had while in Maui. I requested a table that had a view of the ocean and they delivered. Our waiter, Brian, was great! The best part was the hula pie we had for desert. I would go back again just for that.
We have been coming to hula grill for 22 years and absolutely love it.
Very expensive. Food was a little salty. A small bowl of seafood soup was $32. I don’t think it was worth it. Will go somewhere else next time.

They offer a tasting menu between 4:45-5:45, but they won't let you know that unless you ask. The portions are tiny, but if you don't want to overeat and want to get a good deal - it's a good way to go
Food was average. A little pricey.
We had a very nice time. Service was spot on thanks to Megan, our server. The coconut seafood chowder was delicious as well as the lobster and scallop potstickers. Top it all off with a huge slice of Hula pie and the evening was superb!
Love the Hula Grill! Book reservation early or you will have to wait at least an hour on busy nights, but worth it. Great food, service (thank you, Brian) and sunset view! Hawaiian decor added to the ambiance. Highly recommend.

Probably the best service I have ever had at a restaurant. Food was fantastic. Server went above and beyond and always with a smile.
Great service. Thank you to our server, Montana. He knew the menu and specials, assisted me with wine, allowing me to sample two the two I was considering which was very appreciated. For the food I chose the chef’s special and it rocked! Furikake crusted ahi was delicious and a melt in your mouth feel, the grilled mahi was moist, smokey and superb. Accompanied by cilantro basmati rice and some mildly pickled veggies was just right. It was again a great experience that will be a cherished memory of my visit to Maui.
Our waiter, Jake, was wonderful! The food was good but seemed overpriced for the portion size and value.

We arrived 20 minutes early for our reservation. The hostess was very busy and. asked if we would mind coming back in 10 minutes. I was disappointed with this so we left to go for a walk. Suddenly the hostess reappeared outside the restaurant along the path, calling my name. She ran up to me and said she was sorry and she just had an ocean front table open up and would I like it? Of course we took it. An excellent table, during a very busy time for a customer 20 minutes early, is excellent service! My tip reflected this consideration. The food, of course, is fantastic as always!

We usually eat here once while visiting Maui - it's close to our place, consistent and while not super innovative, quality ingredients are used and we are fans of Chef Merriman being in the business ourselves.
This time was just OK. I hope they are not getting complacent; or with the addition of MonkeyPod (great Happy Hour btw) getting distracted.
I miss the old bread service which was fun and unique (served in a lunchbox type container) - now it's in a basket which isn't as imaginative.
I had one of the staple dishes there - the crab topped Mac crusted Mahi Mahi - the dish looked thrown together and not as pristine a presentation as normal.
Same with the rest of the dishes - they were just OK. I wonder how Chef would feel about this.
Service at the bar was very causal, I had to flag the bartenders down every time I needed anything. Not a lot of eye contact or intuitive service. Well bartender was verrrry slow. Service at the table was fine and up to par.
I hope this review is taken in the light in which it was intended - being in the industry I always admired the execution at all of the Merriman locations precisely because they don't do what most places with a built in spectacular view do - which is to rely mostly on the view and not care too much about execution of the food, beverage and service. Please stay vigilant!

I love trying new food and fish when on vacation. We tried the monchong and it was insanely good. A favorite meal in Maui.
