   Jason was laid back, but very professional, also. Bread and dip was exceptional. Salad was good. Entrées were less than steller. My wife had grilled Mahi Mahi with vegis. It was not much flavorful past the fishy taste. My half chicken was okay, but could have had more flavor.

   Plan in advance and make a reservation! I could only get an early reservation as everything was booked later. It turned out to be a “happy accident,” because the Hula Grill offers a salad and entree meal deal as an early bird special. The only drawback was no homemade focaccia bread service is served with the early bird dining experience. I offered to pay for the bread as an extra order, but they were not able to accommodate me. I was able to order a cocktail, so why not bread? Anyway, besides not being able to pay for the bread add-on, I had an overall good dining experience. I probably didn’t need the focaccia anyway!

   Overpriced for food with zero taste only then to try to take two payments from credit card without knowledge (fortunately our bank stopped the payments). The worst meal we have ever had!!

   Took a while for server to greet us after we were sat. Very nice woman once she took our drink order. Kids food came 10 minutes before our entrees arrived, and second round of drinks took a while to arrive…we were ready to leave when the second round was served. Not what we remembered from our last visit. Can’t be the location or the view, but they need to work on meeting and exceeding expectations for such a cool venue.

    Server was great!! The whole staff was quick and attentive. We were a large party of 8 but it was as quick of service if we were a group of 2. The view was absolutely insane. We were there at sunset and let me tell ya I would go back again just for that view.

    Everything was divine, including the lava flow! Our experience was wonderful from start to finish, and the ambience only added to it. The only issues were with some children at the next table and parking. It was quite a wait to get in and park. It was almost nonexistent. It had us late by about five minutes. not the restaurants fault. The kids were screaming and yelling the entire time but again that is not the restaurants fault. I would definitely recommend. Lots of local fare on the beach with a spectacular sunset view if you can get a table facing the ocean. Mahalo!

    We really enjoyed the live music watching the sun go down. I was looking forward to the meal. The chili oil and fresh bread were excellent but my entree (macadamia nut encrusted mahi was neither warm nor flavourful).

    Really enjoyed the Hula Grill. We.we’re able to sit outside up front to watch the sunset which was amongst the best. Our Server was Lucas who was soft spoken but polite and pleasant and accommodating to our needs. We decided to start with only a Caesar salad to save room at the end for dessert. Seasoned focaccia bread came to the table which was an awesome surprise full of flavor and felt like something special in itself. Two dipping oils on the table , olive oil and a zesty fruity mix were a unique compliment on all tables. The Caesar salad was amongst the best on the island with great tasting and proper amount of dressing. Main course was the rib eye steak, simply flavored and cooked to perfection! And the Wood grilled fish did not disappoint packed with flavor and freshness. Though the portions were nice size we were able to save room for the Hula pie. Awesome! A nice giant slice served on its special dish with its special sporks! Loved it! A great way to end the meal with a refreshing, yummy island treat! Hula grill was tops on our list and we look forward to next time!

    We had an excellent dinner! Kelli was our server and she was phenomenal. The food was fabulous. We had several at the table who had the fish special which was yummy and I had the boneless short ribs and that was exceptionally good. Please add this to the regular menu! The service was great. We were having dinner with our son, daughter-in-law and grandson. Our server brought out my grandson’s meal as soon as possible to keep him happy and busy. We’ve been coming here for years and Hula Grill never disappoints ❤️

    I have been coming to Hula Grill for quite a few years and was a little disappointed tonight. Bee impersonal and wait staff seemed rushed. Food was good but plates were called out at table. Prices warranted better service

    Had hazelnut crusted fish. Overly salty. Rice was mediocre. Needed a fruit relish or something. Husband ordered ribs that came with mashed garlic potatoes. It was really good. Waitress was great. Table next to us was loud. What ya gonna do? Inhaled delicious hula pie.

    Beautiful sunset, good service and fabulous Hula pie, but the daily grilled fish "ono" was overcooked & dry and the short ribs were very tender, but sauce was not very tasty… mostly salty. These weren’t up to standards we’re used to at any TS Restaurant (Dukes, Hula Grill, Leilani’s, Kimo’s). The pork shank that one guest had was very good. Although this one visit was somewhat disappointing, but maybe it was just an off night there. We usually eat at least 3 of the TS restaurants every year when we come (I chase the Hula pies everywhere), and I love the beach location so I’m not counting Hula Grill out yet!

    We had a table looking over the beautiful sunset and music band was so good but the service was so so. A server was friendly but we asked wine when they brought main dish but the boy said he will ask the server to come to take a order but nobody came. I went to the bar and ordered by myself . By the time we had wine, dinner was already cold and the Mahi Mahi was way over cooked and rock hard. Food was not good and super expensive for that kind of quality . But ambiance was nice. Good place for cocktails and pupus but not main dishes .

    Hula Grill has gone south since Covid. Once one of our favorite restaurants on Maui, Hula Grill has combined the informal Barefoot Bar menu (and seating) with the more formal, dinner menu and seating. The result is a drastic drop in food quality. We visited twice on this trip (had 4 reservations but cancelled the last two) and both times our fish entrees were sub-par. Very thin, overcooked Mahi Mahi and swordfish. Very disappointing. This place used to be consistently very good. Now it is very subpar. Will not be back, which breaks my heart. We’ve been going to Hula Grill since 1992.

    Seems pricey but the food was phenomenal! The apps and entrees all were fantastic and the service was spot on - the price was worth it! Wonderful dinner! We had the calamari and potstickers appetizers and the lobster tails, the ahi steak and pork shanks entrees.

    Truly excellent food and service. We had the crab wontons which were fantastic, followed by the roasted chicken, the ahi, the filet mignon, and the mahi mahi. There were no disappointments. Finished the hula pie which is a frequent item on area menus. Cocktails were the Lime in the Coconut, really excellent, and the Mai Tai, which was a bit disappointing. Made several attempts to contact this restaurant by phone to see if a children’s’menu is available, as it is not shown on the website. Every single option on the phone answering machine directs the user to the website. Is it really that much of a chore to have a person take a few phone calls??? Refusing to take phone calls demonstrates a lack of respect for the people who support the business.

    The restaurant is in a great location. Great vibes, not too loud. The waiter was friendly and did a great job making recommendations. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t great. (Except for the free focaccia bread and cocktails, which were amazing) Fish was soggy, steak was bland, carrots were undercooked, pot stickers were dry.
