Hugo's Oyster Bar
The food was excellent. Our only complaint was that it took them 45 minutes after our reservation time to seat us.
Great Food a little pricey, Great for a date or special evening our
Outstanding meal! Took out of town guests. They were talking about how good the food was for several days. for the noise level review, we were there the night of one of the NFL championship playoffs. There were tables with opposing fans that were exuberant.
The noise level was ridiculous. Could not hear the people at my table. Food was great but if you want to talk to each other, this is not your place.
We have always had great food and service at Hugo's. But, our dinner on Friday, 1/11/19 wasn't the normal experience we usually have. The bar was out of both wine and martini glasses, causing a good 20 minute wait on drinks, on both rounds of drinks. I had the Viet-Cajun Stew with Grouper. The last time I ordered it, it was exactly as advertised, full of veggies and with a crusty bread to dip. This last experience it was grouper sitting in broth only, no vegetables or crusty bread as served before. At $34, this isn't a dish I want served incomplete or lacking anything, really disappointing. Hoping it was only an off night for the bar and the kitchen, things happen. We'll give it another try.
First and foremost, food was amazing. Had the redfish and crab stuffed shrimp. Service was impeccable and made us feel right at home. Will definitely be back and will be sharing with all my friends.
Second visit to this local eatery - as it was on the first visit - all was excellent.
Spent NYE at Hugo’s for dinner. It wasn’t packed, just perfectly full. The food was incredible as always. My date can’t wait to come back.
made a reservation and had to wait 50 minutes to be seated. was never apologized to or offered to make things right.
The food and service was great. I was disappointed that I made a reservation for 7pm and was not seated until 7:50pm.
New Years Eve - food and wine were excellent. Servers did a good job despite the crowd.
Food was great. Even had some gluten free options. Our server was informative on food and wine.
Great time !!
Great atmosphere and excellent food as always... Oyster can NOT be Beat
Excellent seafood options from two oceans and a gulf. Credible wine selection. Lots of "home made" sides and specialty items. Great value and solid overall experience.
Love coming here for oysters, raw and grilled ,and gumbo. The drinks are great .a great local place
Been here many times, food is not consistent, service is always poor. Got stuffed shrimp this time, tiny little frozen shrimp that were over cooked and hardly any crab. Ousters are always good. Will go there for oysters only from now on
Christmas eve dinner for 7 people, one in a wheelchair. When we arrived, they let us know that a group was lingering at the table they planned to seat us at and offered us a different table that required two steps up...we were able to help our friend in the wheelchair up the two steps. We were perfectly happy with our table, it actually ended up being in the back which was quieter and we were all able to talk and hear each other! To "apologize" for the table being up two steps and the inconvienence to our wheelchair bound friend, they comped several apetizers for the table. They all were delicious but the chargrilled oysters rocked!! The service was great, the food was awesome and plentiful! Several of my friends had the stuffed shrimp that they raved about! My sister and I had the bourbon glazed salmon which was so good, I wanted to lick the bowl...but of course I did not! Deserts were also very good! All in all, a perfect Christmas Eve celebration with great friends and family thanks to Hugo's Oyster Bar! We will definitely be back!
Great food and great service. I wish the restaurant was a little bigger but nice and cozy.
Mussels, salmon and stuffed shrimp all were excellent. I love the atmosphere but some of the family were a bit annoyed at the noise level.
My ONLY complaint was that they were having an event and the menu was limited. It wasn’t mentioned in Open Table and although we stayed and the food and service were good, our choices were even more limited due to allergies. We’ll be back, but hopefully on a normal brunch schedule.
Good Bar; God food: good value and very prompt service--- fun place!
We heard about Hugo's on Atlanta Eats and thought it would be a good place to try. The oysters were perfectly fresh and delicious. The seafood dishes were all excellent as were the sides. Good enough beer selections. Food came out in an adequate amount of time and our party of 4 were all served together. Tyler, our server was knowledgeable, personable, and seemed to enjoy his job. We'll be back!
Excellent food and service. The char-grilled oysters were spectacular, as was everything else we had. Our waiter, Chris, was very friendly. It was a very cozy place to have dinner on a cold, winter evening! Can't wait to go back.
My husband and I went on a rainy Saturday night and the valet person was completely soaked and had an incredibly cheerful disposition! We were warmly greeted inside and seated immediately. The music was 80's and 90's R&B which we love. Our waiter was very helpful in choosing entrees. The food was really good. I am particular about New Orleans food since I grew up near NOLA and Hugos did not disappoint. The chargrilled oysters and the oysters on the half shell were great and so was the crawfish etouffee. My husband had the Bourbon salmon and for the 1st time ever, raved about the Brussels sprouts! We will definitely return very soon!
Excellent food as always
The server was great as well as the oysters. Everything we ate was quite tasty and the knowledge of the server helped us pick the right food.
We love Hugo's. Great oysters at very reasonable prices. Service is always terrific. Lots of seafood options. Pretty close to New Orleans quality.
We have eaten at Hugos many, many times and it was excellent as always!!!
Food and service were very good - especially Bonita
Saturday night dinner was great! We had a reservation for two and were seated right away, our waitress was very prompt and attentive, the drink menu was good, the food was REALLY good, and dessert was great as well. They had on the Georgia/Auburn game but it certainly wasn't "sports bar-ish." Even though it's about 20 miles from me, this was my second visit and I know I will go back. I definitely would recommend Hugo's.
Birthday dinner for my husband who wanted oysters. The entire family liked each of our meals and appetizers. Their alcoholic drinks were delicious and gave you a punch. This meal was my third time there. Amazing wait staff who enjoy their restaurant. Nice valet too.
Great place for our birthday celebration. Wonderful food, and the roasted oysters!!!
Superb service and food!!
My wife and I celebrated her birthday here. It's her favorite place for oysters and crab fingers. We had a reservation but came early. The hostest was able to seat us quickly anyway.
The food and service at Hugo’s is always good! We love this place!
Absolutely delicious food! The blackened Red Fish was amazing. We will be back!
Have dined at Hugo's many times over the years and have never left disappointed.
Highly recommend it for lunch, brunch or dinner.
We came in late after closing up our shop and had great service and food. Hugo's is a favorite of mine an they never disappoint.
Our server was Peter and he was outstanding. It was busy and we never felt abandoned he was always available. Also, I like that the someone came and cleared our plates so we could enjoy our conversation without all the empty food plates.
Our server, Michael was exceptional and Henry, the Valet attendant was wonderful too! Henry helped all of us to the car and he was so kind to my 83 year old Mom. They truly made it a wonderful service experience and the food was all delicious!
