Hugo's Oyster Bar
Even though we had a reservation, we were put in the normal order of walk-ins and did not get are table until closer to 8:30pm.
This was our second time to visit.
Food & service is outstanding!
Waiter forgot the special occasion
Bartender had difficulty making a Makers Mark Manhattan, straight up. Used way too much sweet vermouth. Upon sending our two drinks back, our waiter returned with basically the same drink, still yo much vermouth. To correct, I ordered shots of Makers Mark and diluted the vermouth. It must have made hi made that we sent drinks back. Our waiter was apologetic and kind.$
Great food and service.
The service and food were absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend the Red Fish!
Four of us with different orders completely enjoyed the choices in our latest visit. Hugo’s has been a favorite for many years now. Others we have taken there have loved it too, whether it’s brunch, an oyster on the half shell fix or a big meal. A definite ‘go to’ for my husband and me.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! I had the crab stuffed shrimp, which was outstanding. Highly recommend Hugo’s!
Absolutely excellent food and service. I am from New Orleans and have very high standards for seafood. Hugo's met and exceeded my standards.
Food was really good. Great selection of oysters. Our waiter played photographer for us and it was a nice atmosphere for a girls night dinner! Only complaint was we still had a 20 min wait even though we had made a reservation earlier in the week.
We love Hugo’s. The jambalaya is spicy and flavorful. The seafood platter is generous and delicious. Love the seafood gumbo, my favorite!
Get time, had a group of 10 and it was a great evening!! Service, drinks, and food were all great. Will come back again
It was busy and food was slow coming, but as usual the food was great.
Love this place , always excellent
We had the redfish and the grouper and both enjoyed our dinners.
Excellent oysters, cool ambiance. We really loved Hugo's Oysters and the Oysters Rockefeller. We also tried the crab stuffed shrimp and enjoyed the Mimosa Bar. Our server was very helpful and did a great job!
Food and atmosphere was great! TLM
We have visited Hugo’s at least 5-6 times. The oysters are what keeps us coming back! But the restaurant has a strong smell of fabuloosa which is a cleaner. It’s very unappetizing to smell it in a restaurant. On Friday a diner near us was served a meal on a skillet, we believe it was redfish on a half shell. The odor that followed was so pungent it sent one person outside, one to the bathroom and the rest of us staring at the recipient of this smelly meal. The ventilation system at Hugo’s is nonexistent. In addition the lighting is very poor and at the very least consider putting candles on the tables. Our server Natalia was a delight!!
Food was excellent. Service prompt and attentive without being smothering. If it hadn’t been for the foul-mouthed guy in the corner who had a speaking volume suitable for a rock concert things would have been perfect!!
This is our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. We go for the Feast of Seven Fishes. This year it was extraordinarily delicious!!
Good food and friendly staff! We will be back!
Family get together - always great oysters.
We love Hugo’s! They’re always kind and the food is amazing. It’s a neighborhood favorite of ours. We’ll be back again and again.
Great food, great staff but it’s not inexpensive. Worth the extra cost but not an every day kind of restaurant for me.
I always enjoy my meal At Hugo’s. The service and quality is unbeatable. From the blue crab appetizers, the Hugo’s oyster and the wonderful craft cocktails, you can’t go wrong choosing Hugo’s.
Although we had never been to Hugo’s my wife chose Hugo’s for her celebration dinner on her birthday. She nor I were disappointed. Bonita, our server was excellent as were the oysters and fried shrimp. We are looking forward to our next visit.
Nice midweek stop, Service Great and food tasty but presentation very bulky - large. Could use some refinement!
The inside needs an update.
Great food. Very friendly staff.
Bonita our waitress was very attentive, manager Gage came over introduced himself and checked on our dining experience food was everything we wanted it to be.
Fun place. Very good food. Amazingly friendly staff
Always great food
Amazing atmosphere, knowledgeable waiters and great delicious food. Everything was just amazing!
Great food, great service. We had fun and a delicious dinner.
Waite staff was excellent. Valet parking is most helpful. Food was excellent. It was a good evening out.
The food was not very good!! Oysters tasted funny and very small. Po boy oyster and shrimp combo needed more seasoning. Such as salt.
The table beside us order the red fish and it smelt horrible.
Hands down they have the best brunch ever to be a seafood restaurant! The bananas foster french toast with a side of praline bacon was amazing! That would be my last meal if I had to choose. We will be going back to try dinner which I'm sure will be a delight as well!
Ask about happy hour specials. Server didn’t offer and even when I asked didn’t give me all the specials.
Always excellent food and service. The etoufee is always a favorite.
had a reservation for 11/2. power went out at the restaurant and nobody let us know. they had my email and cell phone number. didn't find out they were closed until we arrived for reservation. valets were playing catch in the parking lot. very unprofessional.
