   I've been going to Hugo's for 10 years. Food is consistently excellent with a great atmosphere. Service can be a little rushed with occasional errors. Prices a bit high, reflecting the high-income clientele in Naperville.

   do to location, we celebrated our 25th anniversary at Hugo's . Food was great, but what made the night was Mike, our server. Professional, personable, and helpful. We'll be back for "non-special occasions dinning" and Mike will be requested

   The service was good and it's nice place with a very enjoyable atmosphere, but the food honestly wasn't very good. Soggy fish and chips and everything else we had was a bit bland/underseasoned.

   The server that we had was over solicitous, she came repeatedly to remove plates that we were not done with yet. she brought out the wrong cocktail at the beginning. She kept asking during the duration of our visit if she could take things off of the table that we were using at the time,  this was very annoying because this occurred I would say every four minutes so we didn’t have a chance to enjoy our meal the way we should have. There was nobody outside on the patio but us so I didn’t understand her haste. Our reservation was for 2:30 and we left approximately at 4:45 so we were not there for an overly extended period of time. I asked for the check and brought it out quickly before I had time to get out my credit card and she was back to take it. When she brought my card and the tip receipt back she was back within 30 seconds to pick up her tip. We had a poor dining experience due to all of that. Additionally, the shrimp and grits was like the consistency of chewing gum and was overcooked. As a result I was very unhappy with my dining experience. My name is Amber Myers.    I was disappointed by the Mussels appetizer because they were not fresh. We ate frog legs for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised by their flavor profile. We did not regret being adventurous. My son had Tuna which was seared rare, and I had their salmon. Quality is underwhelming considering how expensive they are.

    In the heart of downtown Naperville, a real gem! A great place to gather and celebrate special occasions. Excellent food and a great dining experience. We asked for a table in the court yard and were very pleased with the ambience. Will visit again soon!!!

    The salmon was a bit dry & the three mixed bourbon drinks ($14.00/glass) were weak. Also, our server (Michael) was slow to respond to our requests. In his absence, another waiter (Tom) served our food. Also, after asking for to-go containers that Michael didn't deliver, we asked a busboy to bring them. Michael defended his non-action by explaining that he had been talking too much to another customer which delayed/ distracted him.

    My salmon was raw - like really raw I am 51 years old and I have only returned one other dish at a restaurant - I usually just eat it but this was not good What made me mad was I showed the waiter and he was like - that is raw so you want it cooked more - who eats raw salmon at a nice fish place

    I enjoy the atmosphere at Hugo's indoor and outdoor. Service is always fabulous. Food is really good too. I had the fish of the day, a blackened bass filet with veggies. Soups are good and so is the Cobb salad. I like going for lunch on sunny days. It's vibrant and good place for a business meal or a special occasion for dinner. Highly recommend!.

    Disappointed with the scallops and mushroom risotto. The dish was under seasoned, there was some grit in the scallops, and the risotto was under cooked. I look for creamy velvety consistency in risotto which wasn’t there.

    Waited 20 minutes for reserved table at 5:30 PM. Bar did not have grapefruit juice for a Paloma. Server was good and attentive. Crab cake Appetizer was delicious. Lobster Tails tough, rubbery / overcooked. Broccoli cold. Filet ordered medium rare was medium plus. Fries were cold. Server noticed steak and replaced. Replacement came at end of my guest’s meal. Prisoner by the glass was $26. Total Bill was $500 for 4 people. $125 / head for a $75 / head experience. Good thing Naperville market benefits from downtown issues. Really disappointed.

    We were able to sit on the patio and enjoy a nearby perfect night. Drinks were terrific and no matter what you order at Hugos you’ll enjoy it! Conner was terrific and went over the top to make our experience great!

    I had to try the frogs legs, which were nicely prepared. Lightly browned, and with a tasty lemon sauce. The frogs legs themselves have very little meat and even less flavor. You really just taste the sauce that they’re in. The little bones are kind of gross. Followed it up with the New England clam chowder special which was delicious with lots of notes of bacon and smokiness. Then had the pan fried trout, which was also excellent. The service was OK, but not quite as attentive as I would’ve preferred.

    We went on Easter Sunday and 1st were disappointed with the limited menu. Many of our favorites were not available due to limited menu. The waiter was good but had to wait many times to get her attention. Steak was under cooked from the description of a pink center. It was rare. The steak was also tough. Hugo’s is a favorite place of ours but the last two times it’s been disappointing.

    This was a special birthday which we captured with pictures. The background had a non-working lamp with a torn shade. Looked really cheap. For your prices, you can afford a lampshade and light bulb.

    Went to celebrate Moms Birthday for lunch. Service was great. Calamari was fresh and tasty, we all had the clam chowder soup which was great, most had a salad of some kind and all enjoyed, and we shared the Scallops and the Shrimp DeJonge. wonderful afternoon lunch for all.

    My friend and I make annual plans to celebrate at Hugos, because it is the best place for us to celebrate our mutual birthdays, which occur on the same day! The food is delicious. The service is outstanding, and the ambience is congenial and warm. Although the dining room was filled with lunchtime, patrons we were not disturbed by nearby conversations. The fact that it was our birthdays was communicated from the host to our waitress, which was a nice touch. We will definitely be back again next year if not before.
