Great service and great food, we had a great time!

The parent company of Hugo's is Gibsons. So you know the steaks are going to be good. And they were!

Hugo's was a surprise and a great find. We found we could order very affordably with the local favorites and a side or, enjoy the great steak. We were able to share and it kept our cost in line if not lower than average places. The service was excellent. The only negative was that the bar prices were exorbitant and not known at ordering so, ask the price before ordering.

Had a few seafood appetizers which were very good, then had the crab chopped salad. Lots of unusual ingredients in that salad. Would not recommend.

Consistently very good food and very good service.
Low staff turnover also helps with consistency.

For the amount of money I spent...The frog legs were underdone, the lobster tail was BEYOND over cooked, the twice baked potato was Luke warm and the cheese melted on top was hard as a rock!! I was very unpleased with my visit, I would not return nor would I recommend this restaurant.

Excellent drinks at the bar before dinner. Made perfectly !

Had the wedge salad and shrimp cocktail for appetizers and then split the 14oz Filet and Brussels spouts for dinner. All was excellent.

Jason, the manager, stopped by and genuinely cared about talking to us and how the meal was. He wasn’t going through the motions - cool dude.

The casino just outside after dinner is icing on the steak ...!

Hugo's never fails to impress! I have brought numerous friends here and all of them leave saying how impressed they have been. A niece, from Florida, still can't stop talking about the experience!

Excellent food and service!

Like the restaurant ordered a filet medium and it came well done. The server was nice enough to take off one of the appetizers.

The food is always consistently great! Unbeatable service. Mark is our favorite waiter, friendly, attentive and able to anticipate your needs. Highly recommend.

The restaurant was so loud! The food was good though.

This has always been a little pricey but the service and food has always been fabulous. Love eating here.

Service was great. Very attentive wait staff. My steak was supposed to be medium but was dry in many places. For a Gibson steak I could have made a much better one myself. They made up for this with a free dessert but maybe the steak should have been removed from the bill.

Also very loud. I don’t think I will be going back with all the steakhouse options in Chicago.

The food was amazing, but, sadly I won't return. It was the loudest restaurant I have ever been to in my entire life. My ears hurt after we left. I can't enjoy conversation over dinner when I can't hear it. I typically don't mind loud, energetic noise levels, but this was horrendous.

All of us truly enjoyed our steaks. They were cooked to perfection!

Portions of side dishes have shrunk considerably from those of prior visits. That said the quality of the food remains excellent.

Julian and Sal were attentive and proactive to our needs (not reactive). And they made us feel like "VIP's"....way to enhance the guest experience! Most of the food exceeded our expectations and hot food was served hot; and cold food cold. Nice job to the entire team!

I had the Chilean sea bass on a bed of mashed peas...$50. I was underwhelmed when it was brought out and it tasted fine but nothing to get excited about. The creamed spinach was really good as a side item.

Every year we enjoy eating here at Valentine Day. The food is excellent and the service super. We usually eat in the bar area but this year I made my reservation in early January. I was glad we did because it was packed!

Went for the frog legs, and they were fantastic. Loved the bookbinder soupalso. My husband loved the steaks, the best.

I have had many steaks at this place, first time I have ever had a bad one. And I mean, it was bad!! I like things well done and always get WR bone in ribeye. It usually is juicy and tender. Not this time, it was so fatty and tough I could only get a few bites out of it. And not just mine! My husband had same steak, only medium, and his was the same, too tough to even eat and full of fat. Our casino host had picked up our dinner cost, so i didnt want to complain about something that was free, but glad I had an opportunity to file a complaint here. Not sure what happened, we always order the same steaks the same way, first time we had a bad one at this place. Tho we ate once at Hugo's in oakbrook and had tough steaks there as well. VERY dissappointed as we always look forward to a great meal at this place.

that being said, I loved our waiter and managers were coming around asking how things were. I wasnt going to complain as we weren't paying. Servers are very friendly and bread is great!
Wedge salads are awesome as well.

I ordered the salmon and it was over cooked. The grill asparagus would have been good if they had snapped the woody ends of them. I didn’t enjoy at all.

Loved the lobster bisque soup and scallops entree! The pear blossom cocktail was wonderful too!

If you like noise, being in a casino, being rushed, a crowded place, and having your plates taken quickly, this place is for you.

The service was outstanding. The noise level was a little high due to the Casino. The Casino was a good way to past time while waiting for the table. The steaks were excellent. The side were large portions and very good. The Dessert were also very good. Overall, I would recommend it highly.

Great menu. Filet sliders are indescribable good. Mixed drinks are made very well.

Delicious tuna salad. Plus yummy split pea soup.
