Food and service are excellent. A little noisy, but manageable. Outright fun place.
Amiable, casual and tasty Spanish tapas in New York's East Village. Would def return.
Second visit to Huertas was enjoyable as the first in 2018
Great tapas and wines!
The last time I went there it was a no tipping restaurant. This time, the prices were still high, but now we had to include a tip. So while the food is good, I think the portions are too small and too expensive. I have had Patatas Bravas all over town, its potatoes for goodness sake, not caviar! and they give you the smallest portion …...Saffron rice was the bomb, crispy rice with lots of flavor. Mushrooms with egg yolk were excellent.
The food and service were outstanding. I nearly fell over when I got the bill though. $200 for 2. Only one person drinking. Will still definitely go back.
Huertas is good, but definitely not great tapas.
Mussels were very nothing.
Serrano was very good, but that has little to do with Huertas.
Same with the Manchego.
Patatas bravas needed more heat and a bit less gooey sauce.
Octopus was great, done just right.
Chorizo was tasty but heavy.
2 uninteresting desserts were offered.
Wines were obscure but OK.
No Cardinal Mendoza ....?
Service was pleasant and attentive.
Had a great meal getting together with old friends and sharing lots of plates of delicious food!
Always great food and spectacular service. A little bit pricy, but it's absolutely worth it (and you don't pay tips!). Plus you can always start with their happy hour menu ;)
I cannot recommend Huertas aside from the service it was a bad experience.
Out of the 10 or so dishes we had the stand out was the octopus which was a 3 out of 5. The huevos rotos was inedible, the shishito peppers were over fried, the potatoes bravas were triple fried and bared no resemblance to what you would get in Spain. In summation over priced and not at all authentic.
I guess if you had never had real tapas you might think it’s ok but if that’s the case try and get to Spain and see the difference, then you will certainly never go back to this place.
Food was excellent! Safron Rice , the croquetas and the patatas bravas were our favorites! The host was very polite and courteous and our waitress was great!
Probably the best tapas bar in the lower half of the island. Great cocktails, delicious plates, good service.
Good food and nice place. Happy hour selections were underwhelming and pricy. Food was good service was ok food came out a little sporadically but they did not rush us. It was a bit pricey for tapas style food so be prepared as well as the drinks.
Food is good but service could improve, our server looked miserable
Great food, spot on service, and lovely setting.
I was drawn to this restaurant based on the stellar reviews read here. The problem with good taste is everyone thinks they have it. The issue with high expectations is that they’re never met. After 50,000 points earned here 100 points at a time, I feel my tastes are above adequate, but my expectations are pretty standard. The unfortunate reality at Huertas is it doesn’t deliver more than a mediocre tasting meal poorly presented and grossly overpriced. From the rubbery octopus to the bland steak to churros drowned in chocolate sauce over grocery store ice cream, the best part of the meal was the wine. Not sure what people are raving about here, but set your tastes buds to underwhelmed and price tag above value.
Great food and service. Wine by the bottle was reasonably priced. Food and drink prices include gratuity so no need to add one. Really good value!
Staff started shutting down at 10pm and making it clear we and other patrons were no longer welcome.
Nice dinner out with my husband in East Village
Didn’t get any recognition that it was a birthday celebration. That was entered at when reservation was made
The menu is incredible, and I love the house Vermouth. This is the first place I take friends, and our local favorite.
The food was great but nothing outstanding. The arroz was a little disappointing for the size and price but we really enjoyed the Croquettes and Ceviche.
This is my second trip to Huertas in the last month and I'm sure it won't be my last. The food is authentic Spanish cuisine and the atmosphere is perfect for a leisurely dinner with friends. I recommended this place to several friends and each has thanked me.
The worst gin tonic of my life and a glass of rjoca at 16 usd. Out of the blue!
Fantastic food and a lovely experience all around
Love the food at Huertas we went on a Monday night and did the tasting menu of Let Us Cook which was $48 5 course only one course the roasted beets with goat cheese something wasn't quite great was fine but compared to the other courses just ehm we had goat croquet could have had a dozen so yummy and the lamb oh my ! Fantastic have to say as tip in included into the prices I think the smartest thing ever ! My second time there can't wait to go back
Huertas is excellent, from the food to the service to the drinks. Will be going back ASAP!
Dinner was delicious, service was great, and the place is buzzy and fun but I could hear my friends talking. Looking forward to going back!
Overall excellent experience. Tried just about everything. We were entertaining friends who have spent time in the Basque region, and they enjoyed the food, just kept saying "In San Sebastian this would be about three dollars..." Yes, it's pricey. What can you do.
The white vermouth was nothing special, and the desserts were really disappointing. Those were the only negatives.
The food was great and we loved the traditional Spanish style of the dinner. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves tapas.
Although this place came up as a 'quiet' choice, that's not really the case. Despite that one issue, it was well worth it for the very good and reasonably priced fare.
A gem of a place in East Village. Careful preparation and attentive waitstaff. Cocktails were great as well. Would highly recommend.
This place is really cool! Great ambience, good music, cool drinks, and very tasty food. Glad I chose to dine here!
We ordered the Neustras Manos (our hands) where the chef made our selections. Everything was delicious! The waitress was knowledgeable and recommended a delicious wine.
The table next to us was loud and there was a bright Subway sign viewed through the front door, otherwise it would have been perfect.
We sat in the back room for dinner--the noise was unbearable. The combination of brick walls and hard walls meant the sound reverberated and every high-pitched laugh from one particular table was amplified to the max.
The service was prompt and gracious. The portions were quite small--each plate ($18-$25+) amounted to a few disappointing bites. We were especially looking forward to the morcilla dish only to find that the morcilla was pulverized into tiny bits and overwhelmed with chickpeas. Perhaps a better description should have been chickpeas and eggs with a dusting of morcilla. We left the restaurant disappointed with a hankering for pizza.
Back at Huertas after a long interlude. Fortunately everything was the same - innovative cuisine, attentive service, lots of activity and yet the leisure to sit and talk for as long as one wished. And the chef's menu remains a tantalizing, affordable alternative to a la carte.
Chefs tasting menu was great value, fantastic food and tremendous fun. Lovely lively atmosphere and knowledgeable friendly staff. Also great choice for out of town visitors who want to see something a little different than standard fare.
Excellent food and atmosphere. The service was phenomenal, especially when factoring in they were not working for a tip. The tip is built in. Get the chefs sampler it was amazing
Huertas does offer delivery in partnership with Caviar.
