Hudson's Ribs & Fish Ratings and Reviews
Our server Jillian was very attentive but not over-bearing. The chicken ciabatta was very tasty and of ample size. I think a sauteed chicken breast might be a more healthy option; the fish and chips: the fish was great but the chips are literally potato chips. Fortunately, Jillian explained that so that we could substitute the chips for fries. The calamari appetizer had some zucchini and peppers (to fill out the plate perhaps?) which distracted from the calamari. The coffee was served in a large mug which was good but was a little weak (Keurig perhaps?).
Hudson's is a god change from local diner food.
Food was good(stuffed shrimp was VERY good). Our waitress, Krista was very pleasant and helpful. Its a nice place and everything was good. I must say that a guy pouring water and bussing tables seemed a little abrupt, and maybe surly, but it might be unfair to read to much into that. Overall, a good place with a big menu and lots of good choices.
Food taste was very good. However we ordered the crab cakes as a app and the center was cold. We both ordered the filet mignon it was very tasty however once again the center was cold. The brownie for dessert was delicious and perfect for the two of to share.
My girlfriend liked it, me, not so much. The popover was different, but ehh. I ordered the ribs for $22. The portion looked like 1/2 a rack, at best. It was covered in BBQ sauce and that's all I could taste. Fall off the bone? Not on your life! Over cooked. You want good ribs? Go to Texas Roadhouse in Poughkeepsie. For $22 you'll get a full rack and the meat definitely falls off the bone! Those are tasty ribs! The ribs here look like the came from a cat, they were so small. The only good thing I can say is the salad was good and service was good.
I won't be coming back.
We went for Restaurant Week and was a great value and good food selections. Food was excellent as well as the service. We were greeted and seated as soon as we entered and food was served promptly. Ambiance was very nice, and good for quiet conversation. We would certainly go back again, and highly recommend it.
Wonderful experience. We had made reservations and were immediately ushered in. Our table was set. Iced water included and our waitress was over right away with popovers so light and fluffy to be unforgettable and strawberry butter to die for. The meal, ambiance, and service were all excellent.
The restaurant is tired and food is out dated. The restroom needs an overhaul. We were expecting something completely different. We went there during restaurant week. The Cod was in a Chutney that was too sweet and the vegetables had to much butter on them and the Apple Strudel crust was barely cooked. Rather disappointing for $150.
Waiter was on top of everything. My wife’s Filet was cooked to her likings. My rib eye was very tasty and cooked perfect. The salad had a great taste but the sautéed baby green beans were excellent . The manger was always on the go - seating people-cleaning tables- and checking in with patrons. Overall they are doing it all right !
Pleasant experience. Krista, our waitress. was delightful. This was our first time so I an unable to compare it to past experiences, but the quality of the food could probably improve. My fiance enjoyed his dozen oysters. My main dish was adequate, but not exceptional.
Staff was friendly and attentive. Décor was pleasant but a bit worn. Fresh popovers were great as was the seafood appetizers and cocktails. We liked the salad presentation and my companion enjoyed her entrée. My entrée (a dinner special) left a bit to be desired as did our desert. Overall, the experience was quite pleasant and our booth was a welcome respite. We may be more careful what we order, but we will go back.
Hudson's is a lovely restaurant with a great menu, service, cocktails and wines. We've been going for years ... from dinner for 2 to dinner with the whole family ... simple evening out to birthdays and memorials ... Hudson's always satisfies. And their sister restaurant Hudson House is wonderful too!
Our town and area has become renowned for the many restaurants here both established and new. Hudson's has been a consistently dependable spot for a great meal. Friendly service, tasty food in satisfying portions. Great value for your dining dollars. Go and enjoy!
Love their pop overs and homestead salad and their salad dressing. They always have a variety of specials to offer. I like their garlic butter steak cut french fries and their prime rib. Good desserts. Their customer service is very good. They are very attentive to your needs. Nice ambiance
Last minute decision to dine out. Hudson's was available on Open Table and known to us although we hadn't visited in a while. We were seated immediately and service was excellent. The signature popovers were great! Meal selections were as expected, my choice of the swordfish special was perfectly prepared and the pineapple glaze was a creative enhancement. Overall, the restaurant provided a great meal with efficient, attentive service. We'll keep it high on the list of area restaurants for a return visit. Thanks for a great meal!
We had an excellent dinner--the steaks were delicious and just as advertised. This local restaurant is a very pleasant departure from the very large number of chain restaurants in the Fishkill-Poughkeepsie area; we're very glad that we found it. Servers were attentive and friendly. When we visit this area again (to go to the Storm King Art Center), we will certainly return for dinner.
Sadly our kitchen was flooded out due to a pipe rupture 5 days before a holiday dinner that I was hosting for 14 people....Hudson's to the rescue! I brought along an apple and honey so we could celebrate the Jewish new year and all had a wonderful time , delicious food, and NO dishes to wash!
We frequent Hudsons for many occasions and they always aim to please....
Amazing popovers a speciality....all you can eat and will💬Yummy!
I have dined at Hudsons 7-8 times over the past several years. This past Saturday I took my wife for her birthday. Our waiter never informed us of the specials. It seemed his only objective was to rush us through our meal as quickly as possible to turn the table over. In addition, it seems Hudsons has cut back a bit on the portions. My previous visits I never left hungry. This time we did.
