Had a beautiful lunch! Food was delicious! Service was attentive and friendly! Great way to spend the afternoon! Will be back!
My mom loves orchid show at the NYBG. So, I thought it would be a great idea having lunch after the show. And worked out well in terms of location and timing.
A place to have a good day with the perfect amount goodnesses also Dedication on details.
I already have.....loved the server and service!
Will hurry back when the rock garden opens.
Overpriced for subpar food (burger came well-done when asked for
Medium rare) and weak drinks. Service was ok. Overheard other waiters giving details descriptions of specials and deserts, while our waitress muttered a few words — it was obvious she did not enjoy her job.
Great for a brunch with a view. Highly recommend for dates
Overall the place and service is wonderful. The only disappointment , they did not have a full bar for drinks.
Prior to attending the Orchid Show, my friend, her adult daughter and I had dinner at the Hudson Grill. We had the perfect table in the back corner. The ambiance of this place coupled with the super menu make it a very pleasant dining experience! Kudos to the chef!
Good food ( changes based on the season, really great!) and great location and environment!
As always, the food was delicious and the service was wonderful. A very relaxing meal in a beautiful location. They never disappoint!
Nice restaurant at the Botanical Gardens. Room is pretty, comfortable and beautiful out the big windows. Upscale casual. Food was good. Small menu. Service was a little slow. Enjoyable lunch after seeing the orchids.
I had a wonderful experience at the Hudson Garden Grill
Nice as always. Good food. I l
Ordered Singapore infusion salad . Loved it !
Since it was the time of the Singapore Orchid Show, I had a Singapore salad. Actually we split one. It felt like I was eating orchids. Divine! The colors, textures, flavors just delicious. I remember when they were celebrating Frieda Kahlo they served some of her recipes and you felt you had gone to visit her in Mexico or was it heaven. A splendid restaurant and with our membership on members day really not that expensive. In June they promise a Brazilian menu.
We eat here a few times a year and usually after a special event at NYBG. We always bring friends to share the pleasant experience. We were just at the Hudson Garden yesterday for lunch after viewing the Orchid Show. What I learned from our waiter is that the restaurant changes its menu for each season and in particular has specials that highlight the show. Three people had the branzino and one had the chicken salad. Everyone was delighted with their meal. Cocktails were great. Server was fun, knowledgeable and knew when to leave us alone. Perfect day at NYBG.
We were originally seated in the inner area of the restaurant until the waitress suggested the outer enclosed area. It was nice to be able to see the outside and be surrounded by the green foliage. The waiter Carlos was excellent in customer service and friendliness. Thank you for making the dining experience that much more pleasant!
the focaccia was stale (?yesterday's?); the Singapore-themed menu was "inspired" by the orchid show, but was inauthentic. My seafood Laksa had well-cooked shellfish, but the rice noodles were overcooked and a sticky wad (clearly premade) with a tiny amount of sauce. The rum flan dessert looked lovely but was insipid.
I would recommend it for atmosphere and convenience. This time, the food was disappointing. In this day and age, a restaurant should have vegetarian/vegan options besides a veggie burger. The veggie burger was OK. The Lava Cake I shared with a friend was excellent. However they used to have a small cookie selection for dessert. No more. And the wine pours are scanty. This is the first time I was disappointed here. It was better before it was “gentrified”.
There’s always an interesting menu, the ambiance is light & bright with large windows looking out to the garden. Service is warm & friendly, but could be more attentive. All in all it’s always a pleasant experience enhancing one’s visit to the gardens.
Great menu which changes seasonally and includes items tailored to current exhibit.
Excellent Everything! Delicious food and very good Pinot Grigio! Service very fine, and interior design
lovely and uplifting.
While the food and service are nothing to write home about, it is the best option for a relaxing meal while spending a day at the perpetually delightful NYBG.
This is the 4th time we have been to the Garden Grill. The first three times the food was great but this time we felt the food quality had gone downhill. The new menu seemed limited and was not interesting. We had the Singapore Noodle dish and the Falafel burger. Neither were particularly good. The service was slow and indifferent. Of course, the setting is beautiful and the building is beautiful. Hopefully it will return to it's initial greatness.
Our waitress Tiyanna was amazing and made us feel so welcome. She was knowledgeable about the food and personable. We would definitely want to visit again
What a nice surprise to find this gem of a restaurant at the NYBG. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The menu changes seasonally. It was featuring a bit of Asian flare as the Singapore Orchid show was on exhibition. The firecracker shrimp appetizer was delicious. The staff could not have been nicer. They were professional and provided excellent service. We will definitely be heading back to the Hudson Garden Grill.
Beautiful room, average food, great service very accommodating.
We are great fans of Hudson Grill. We found the food on Saturday just slightly less than outstanding, which is a first for us. WE had to ask for water 3 times before receiving it.
Love it! Am a frequent customer love the food and drinks, looking forward to my next trip
Always an amazing experience. Love the food and the team. Very good people.
Lovely restaurant-have been there before-one of my reasons to come to the Botanical Gardens!
Lovely scenery-high quality food!
New Singapore influenced menu was a nice change. Crab cakes were amazing. Nice ambiance, not too noisy.
This burger was the best I’ve had in memory and our waitress (bartender) was attentive, pleasant and efficient. Our meal was just the cherry on top of a beautiful sundae-kind of day. Highly recommend.
Family weekend outing. We love this restaurant and are thankful that they are so family friendly. Our toddler loves watching the open kitchen and now drawing on the paper tablecloth. He also gobbled up the omelet;)
The setting is very pretty and comfortable and the service was excellent. However, It is too expensive for what you are getting. Also, I always find the food here too salty.
We've brought several friends here. Always and interesting, changing menu for lunch and brunch.
And I will probably not ever go here again even though I am a member of the Garden. The food was really good, our waitress was terrific. However, the hostesses were horrible - obviously very rigidly taught so do not know how to adapt to situations that don't conform to their training. And we witnessed one waiter telling people, who had just finished their meal at one of his tables to leave because people were waiting. Guess he figured they had already finished filling out the bill and his tip was already secure so, what the heck, they can get out so I can get another tip from the next customers. Really outrageous behavior.
Delicious (and unusual) Cobb Salad entree; great service; near orchid show; right across from the train; a lovely day's outing.
I would recommend the restaurant overall for ambiance and location. But don't order the Crispy Chicken Cobb Salad. It resembles no Cobb Salad I've ever had -- all the ingredients (egg, bacon, avocado) are molded into a small cake on the plate, with a small amount of greens on top and a very large piece of fried chicken, extremely hardened on outside. Way too much blue cheese. Very difficult to eat and not tasty served this way.
I love that they try to change the food up to reflect the event.
