Hubbard Inn Ratings and Reviews
The wild rice soup and the cheese flatbread were good. We ordered the monkey bread but had to send it back because the middle was uncooked. The management was quick and efficient in dealing with the problem and comped our flatbread without us even asking. Very good customer service!
Really enjoyed Hubbard Inn, except for the noise level. It was very loud, almost too loud.
Felt you had to speak loudly to be heard in our booth.
Very interesting interior of building. Would have liked to see the upstairs, but there was a party going on.
Our servers were great, very attentive.
Will come back again.
Also, the live music was great, nice artist. Can’t remember their name.
I was hoping for a unique place to take my Mom to that neither of us had been. Online the Hubbard Inn looked very unique with amazing decor and a menu with variety. When we walked in it was more of a bar that was extremely noisy and when asked if we could change our table that hey had given us we were told no. It’s a shame because instead of eating a full meal as planned all we got was a drink and an appetizer. If your looking for a very laid back place to go grab drinks after work i would recommend for that but not for a date or nice dinner.
I went for an early lunch with my mother and I was very impressed. I've been to Hubbard inn before for drinks and dancing but I had no idea they had an amazing lunch menu. We both got bison burgers (one with sweet potato fries and the other with fries Brussels sprouts) and the bacon wrapped dates. The bacon wrapped dates are incredible! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The bison meat was very good as well. It was a thick patty which I prefer and the meat was very savory and smokey! Very good food! Will be back soon!
I came here for brunch while my family was in town. We all had the build your own omelette which was delicious. They let you pick as many ingredients as you want for the same fixed price - very reasonable. The venue was a fun atmosphere, decorated for Halloween since we went around that time. Would definitely recommend!
Hubbard Inn was okay. I wouldn't say it is a destination restaurant, it seems more like a neighborhood place.
When our party arrived we asked for a booth since the restaurant was more than 1/2 empty. Unfortunately we were told they were only for larger parties. The food was ok -- the standout of the meal was the crispy brussel sprouts. The bison burger was a bit of a disappointment as were the black kale crisps.
Completely dead at lunch hour. Server didn’t read the table well. We were taking and catching up and told her several times that we would let her know when we were ready. Attentiveness is one thing...annoying your guests is another. Food took forever. After asking for an update she told us that one of the items ordered was not available, so it was like starting over. Food mediocre. Had a similar experience on another occasion - this was the “let’s give it another shot” attempt. Won’t return.
Went for happy hour. While the happy hour raw bar was a good deal, there was really no cocktail special. Also, our waiter was somewhat rude and aggressive and just generally absent from our table even though the restaurant was empty. Also, everyone raved about the lobster bisque and it really just wasn’t good! While you get a lot, it has a weird spice to it and just wasn’t worth getting. Wasn’t a terrible experience but definitely won’t be returning.
We started our brunch with a round of mimosas and that was clearly the right thing to do. Our meal began with an interesting take on cinnamon rolls, worth a try. There are several sandwiches, crepes and omelets to available so almost any food preference can be had. We also enjoyed the side dish of breakfast potatoes that come with 3 types of potatoes for 3 different flavors.
Dined outside on the sidewalk. The sewer gas let you know you were special. The plus was the pretty girls walking by with their men and bi- lesbian magnets energize and heaving to and fro. The sazerac one of the best I've had. Food came out like warm.
Beware of the brunch / lunch menu.
Brunch salad $12 same salad for lunch $9
Brunch burger $12 same burger for lunch $11
I was hoping to like this place but it really disappointed. We dined on a Sunday early afternoon. The service was sub par and the food was ok, but nothing special. A little disappointed that at 2pm we still had to order off the brunch menus. I think maybe it is better at night. The dinner menu looked good.
Food took extremely long to come out (about 1 hour and 15 minutes) for lunch, which is unacceptable. (They did end up giving us half off for our meal, which was appreciated.) The server the restaurant had bringing out the food for all of the tables also went to the wrong table multiple times and looked very confused. When the food eventually came out it was just slightly above average. The whole operation needs a lot of work before I would consider revisiting, particularly since this area has so many options. The outdoor seating was the one highlight.
Hubbard St. is always busy on the weekends, but if you can find time for Hubbard Inn during the week, their happy hour deal is great! Huge shrimp, oysters, crab legs, all $2, plus $5 Tito's cocktails. Ordered the Lobster Bisque and Turkey Burger. Both had great flavor! Our waiter stunk, unfortunately. Went when it was really empty and he barely ever made it back to us. Lunch and Dinner have different menu's so I'd be interested to see what they offer during lunch.
20+ minutes until someone asked us what we'd like to drink---despite specifically mentioning that it was a birthday dinner for 2. Absolutely DISGUSTING bathroom for a Thursday night at 6pm. I've had good memories at this place in the past, but nothing can justify tonight's poor experience.
Good if you're looking for something really loud. Most of the menu items were too spicy for our taste especially the linguini & clams and it is not mentioned at the menu!
The restrooms were disgustingly dirty like no one had taken care of them for days and there wasn't any toilet paper anywhere! I let the hostess know and she said she had just sent someone to buy some toilet paper(!)Unacceptable for a Thursday evening! Save your money for somewhere else!
All-in-all, a good experience, just a few comments:
- ordered the oysters, they were small and were not cut from the shell.
- lobster bisque is a must, delicious!
- Cod was very good, portion could be a bit larger.
- pork belly tacos were good as well.
- had to order fries to supplement the food quantity, good fries!
- ambiance was nice, but only two other couples in the restaurant on a Sunday evening. Both good and bad.
Overall it was a good dinner, we will be back.
I wish I had done happy hour here sooner. Raw bar specials were amazing. Oysters on the half shell were good, scallop crudo was better. Drinks are pricey but strong and good. It wasn't super packed for a Friday, and when our group grew, they were accommodating in moving us to a bigger table. Will need to go back to explore the other floors and more of the menu.
