Not a fan . The chicken wings were raw inside. The manager insisted it was veins in the chicken however I eat wings all the time and these were raw. The lighting was poor so I couldn't tell until after I took a few bites and felt the texture and then my daughter put her flashlight from her phone in it and then I was sure. I had the special fish dish which was terrible. My husband and daughter had the salmon which they felt was not good st all. My other daughter who is s student st the university and recommended this place was happy with her choice which was a salad with salmon on top. Will take this place off my list !!
This was my second visit in a matter of days. Food is okay, but not great or exceptional for the price. I was surprised that the ice cream (which was very good) was served in a paper cup with plastic spoons inside the restaurant, like a fast food joint. It was just weird.
We went during their grand "re-opening" weekend. It is a very modern and inviting space and the staff are all eager to ensure that you have a fun and tasty meal. Try the cheese curds appetizer- it is ridiculously good! Entree portions are large- two of the three of us took home leftovers. We also thoroughly enjoyed the unique ice cream flavors. Several contain booze, but all are well labeled. We don't live in the area, but if we return to Tucson we will definitely go back! There is also a freestanding ice cream shop right across the street for anyone who just wants a scoop without a full meal.
This restaurant is normally quite good. Unfortunately they are renovating and have temporarily changed locations (which was not noted on Open Table). At this temporary location they have a very limited menu. The temporary location is really more of a bar than a restaurant. Once they get back into their regular location, I will be happy to go back.
Fantastic welcoming & ambiance but then our server ignored us :0 LUCKILY another server noticed & came over to take our drink order. She then apologized for him when he continued to avoid eye contact - with all 5 of us!?! I have no idea what his problem was!?! I wish I could give the name of our "savior" server but I forgot it :/ She was awesome though & graciously turned what could've been a bad first experience into a great one! We were celebrating Father's Day & our (adult) kids suggested this place raving about the Mac & Cheese which was definitely the best!
We are vacationing in Tucson, and the HUB came highly recommended. The Open Table reservation system did not so availability until 10:45 PM, so we talked about slot and showed up about 10 minutes early only to be told about the hostess that they could've taken us an hour and a half sooner if we would've called them personally. That is unfortunate as we spent extra time walking up and down the street waiting on our reservation time. 🙄 For our dinners we ordered the Seabass special and the chicken pot pie. The chicken pot pie boasted that it was chock full of fresh vegetables and tender chicken along with tons of flavor reminiscent of the south. It was actually full of mostly red potato chunks too large to eat without using a knife and very bland, too thick gravy for any pot pie I'd truly enjoy. The crust was not buttery and flavorful either. It lacked saltiness and was not browned or flaky either. My companion's Sea bass had to be returned as it was so over cooked that we could not cut through the flesh of the fish. We have ordered LOTS of sea bass over the years, but never any too tough to eat. The waitress did take it off the tab and offer free ice cream since it was so late. But, it took ten solid minutes of vigilant looking to get her to our table. No manager ever stopped by and I was genuinely surprised by this. I would like to. It's that a gentleman next to me also had a pot pie, and I noticed he had pulled a large amount of red potatoes out of his crock as well. Maybe they should rethink the pot pie vegetables. Carrots and peas would be awesome with smaller potatoes.
My wife & I went to the Hub on Valentin's Day. We were seated at a lovely table in the front corner of the restaurant next to the window at the front where we could watch the people and traffic passing by on the street without the noise. The service was impeccable and the menu chooses were extensive, including vegetarian dishes which we ordered. The wine that was recommended to us was superb. The entrees we ordered were delicious with generous portions and moderately priced. My wife had the vegetarian pot pie which was huge. I ordered the baked vegetarian pasta, an equally large portion. For desert we enjoyed 3-flavors of vegan ice cream. They gave us a free sample of their flavors to help us make our choices. We loved all 3 so they gave us a portion of all 3 equalling 2-scoops. It was delicious and refreshing. All-in-all it was a delightful dining experience. I would recommend the Hub to all may friends. We've been there several times and have never been disappointed.
We had the hokey pokey flavor of ice cream for dessert, and that made some previous poor experience with the Hostess fade into the back ground. The server was wonderful, the Hostess was exceptionally rude, the roasted corn salad was fantastic, and the ice cream was heavenly.
I have eaten at the Hub many times when I go to the theater in Tucson - Sometimes before the play and sometimes after - The food and the service are always excellent - The staff is young, professional, energetic and always very helpful - It's a great restuarant

By to check on us also. Insane variety of ice cream for desert (I was to full to try some), but my husband polished his off. Try the glory curds for a huge, yummy appetizer.
Great food, friendly service. My only negative is that this is the third time I've been to HUB (my second time for lunch) and every time it takes over 2 hours so service is pretty slow. Very friendly, very good, and worth the wait, but it's important to note that this is *not* a place to grab a quick bite. The ice cream is amazing, too.
The calamari and meatballs with pasta were a little underwhelming, but the homemade ice cream was outstanding! We were also impressed that one of the waiters that was standing next to the ice cream jumped in to help us and was very knowledgeable about the ice cream.
The food was great, but it took 40 minutes to get our order and it made us late getting back to our conference. We even had reservations, so we didn't have to wait for a table. I didn't feel like our server had our back and was aware of how long our food was taking. Everybody raved about our food, though. The place was extremely busy.
Took a chance after reading other's reviews on OpenTable about HUB and were so glad we did. We both had chicken pot pie upon multiple recommendations including our server and it was delicious! The portion was generous, but not overwhelming with a perfectly flakey crust and great balance of veggies to chicken in the filling. We were there having a late lunch and the restaurant was still busy which I think is a great sign. It's in a fun area of downtown and the decor suits the mood. There is a small outdoor dining area, but we ate inside. However, the best was yet to come with wonderful ice cream. The lengthy "menu" of flavor choices was handwritten and our server brought many samples to our table and we finally agreed to get two 1/2 scoops each which was again a very generous portion. We choose salted caramel and a praline flavor both of which were divine and tasted great together!
Met some friends for brunch here, picked this place initially because they took reservations. SO glad we checked out HUB as it was a great experience. The vibe of the restaurant was cool, loved the whole look of the inside with booths against the wall, super high open ceilings, and outdoor seating (dog friendly people!).
Service was fantastic. Very attentive, came around at all the right times and kept the water glasses full which is a pet peeve of mind when they don't.
Food and drink was great as well. We tried their Bloody Mary with the green chile vodka. It was delicious! Plus it was like a little appetizer with the pickle, olive, bacon, cilantro garnish. I tried the eggs benedict which is served over a waffle. It was very good, although the quiche of the day ordered by my friend, and tried by me was outstanding.
Definitely will return.
This is really a great place. This was our first visit and we absolutely loved it. Our server was excellent, the food was excellent, the ice cream was wonderful! Everyone loved their meals -- even the kids' meals were great. My only criticism would be that we were there for just over 2 hours at lunchtime -- it took a while for the food to come out. We were having a great time and this wouldn't have been a problem if we had left the young kids at home. So just keep that in mind if you are dining with children (our kids had a blast though -- the restaurant staff really know how to handle children, they were just over-tired and ready for naps by the time we left after 2PM...our reservation was at noon).
