About HUB 51
HUB 51 is the River North creation from R.J. and Jerrod Melman, the younger generation of the Lettuce Entertain You organization. HUB 51 is a convergence of entertainment, nightlife, dining and social activity-much like the offbeat creations of LEYE were years ago. Striving to be at the heart of Chicago's social and dining scene, the attitude at HUB 51 is to expect the unexpected, a place offering unconventional perks, and outstanding food, drink and service in a spacious urban setting.

HUB 51 Ratings and Reviews
My kind of place . . . Very hungry after seeing “Beautiful” and wanted comfort food. Meat for the suburban hubby who would have gone right back home. Oh, and there was a club downstairs. Happy Wife, Happy Life! I would have stayed until close!🍷
We’ve dined at Hub 51 several times and the food and service are always over the top! On this special occasion, we celebrated our child’s Sweet 16th birthday. She and her friends had a spectacular time! The steak tacos were a HIT for all of us! There were scrumptious!!!
Got together with Chicago friends for dinner. None of us had been to Hub 51 before. We ordered a sushi roll to share (excellent). I had the Brussel sprout salad with salmon (excellent). Wine selection (red/cab) was very good. Service excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meals (I.e., turkey dinner reportedly great). Was a little noisy. However, would go there again.
The restaurant was great! We were running late due to traffic and the hostess said "no problem". The food was outstanding. My husband had the filet and I had the salmon and both were fantastic. Our waitress was superb. Loved her description of the various dishes. Her service was efficient and timely. Plus her personality was charming. She seemed to enjoy her position there. All in all it was a great start to celebrating a newly engaged couple.
We we're there for a girls Christmas shopping weekend in Chicago. We had recommendations for Hub 51. We we're seated as soon as our reservation time. Which was 7pm. on a Friday evening. Nice people, but i asked for the Prime rib, French Dip, I was told they were sold out. The waitress said the Cheese Burger was great. So I ordered that, it was just O.K. and my fries were under cooked. I just was disappointed and didn't think it was anything special.
Contemporary food you really want to eat. Very eclectic selection that is well prepared. Crunchy tuna really yummy, great salads that are not overly dressed. Do not leave without trying Aunt Martha’s carrot cake.....it is like no other and truly fabulous. Large portion so good for sharing. Servers very friendly and know just when you need them and when to stop by your table.
We were in a group of 16 and our waitress was amazing. My only complaint is that we had reservations at 7:30 and when we ordered the egg rolls (which is the main reason we go to Hub51 on Sunday night) we were told they only had one order left. I would recommend they make more as they are only available once a week. We will see you next year in November when we are back in town for the RSNA conference.
I was here celebrating a birthday overall it was very nice. The drinks were OK. I don't think they put enough alcohol in them, not that I need a lot but when your paying over 10-12 bucks for drinks you want to get a little buzz of the second one and I just was feeling it at all. The carrot cake on the other hand was the best part out of the whole dinner. I was in love! So delicious.
We had a very good meal, starting with sushi, I enjoyed the kale salad and my son enjoyed Southwest chicken salad with the cauliflower Mac and cheese. Everything was prepared wonderfully and the service was very good. The tables are a bit close together and it didn’t impede on our conversation for a busy Friday night.
Food was OK at Hub51 and the staff put my group at a nice table in the back. We ordered appetizers and a variety of entrees. Mine was a turkey meat loaf that was Ok and I could only finish half of it. My major complaint is the Lettuce Entertain You points program. I gave the waiter the number that I was suppose to pull up for the credit. That credit never showed up and now LEYE is asking for a receipt. Well I organized the dinner but my boss paid for it. He has the receipt now I do not. I will keep that in mind when scheduling future events.
Tried Hub 51 for brunch because the menu had more variety and choices than most other places nearby. We were not disappointed. The breakfast nachos were excellent, and the service was very good despite the place being very busy. Will try it again when in the area.
I took a close friend here for her birthday brunch (she loves the lemon skinny pancakes) and per usual, the food and drinks were outstanding, and the service was probably the best I've ever had. This remains among my top places to eat in the city going on about six years now.
