Always a great experience...we enjoy this restaurant when we come to Kohala Coast. Service was very friendly and responsive. We recommend everything!
Great atmosphere and food was incredible!
The server was wonderful!
The food is quite good. A number of the appetizers were unique as were the house specialty drinks. Two in our group had filet mignon and the other two had lamb and both were very tasty. We also enjoyed the side of au gratin potatoes, corn, Brussels sprouts & spicy fried rice with lobster. We also tried two of the desserts and shared amongst the four of us - mac nut ice cream pie & bananas foster and enjoyed them both.
The servers were pleasant though the food did take quite a while to arrive and the entire meal was well over 2 hours - hard to know if that was them or the kitchen.
Prices are high - we knew in advance but even so it adds up quickly. We had a $100 pp gift cert and with one drink each (no wine) and splitting deserts, we still ended up going over by $35 pp. Overall we enjoyed our dinner a lot but would limit going back to very special occasions because of the prices.
Beautiful view - great food
Family dinner night. Very quiet not busy. Food was great! Service was friendly!
Wedding dinner for 6 people
They never disappoint. Celebrated our anniversary there!
Great sunset dinner location. Great service; excellently prepared dishes. Very friendly staff.
Consistently good food. Nice outdoor table. Attentive service for the most part. Served salads on split plates because we mentioned we were sharing them (nice). Very pricey limited wine list. Very pricey but so are all the high end resorts on island.
Great food, great service! What more could you ask for in paradise!
Wonderful ambiance and open dining room. Excellent cheese cart and the lobster spicy fried rice was out of this world. Fish was expertly prepared. A perfect meal with excellent service.
We went in after we got married on the beach down the way. It was delicious and our servers were very friendly and surprised us with champagne and a beautiful dessert.
The lobster and bacon fried rice is a must! Our server was also perfection!
One person in our party is vegan and gluten free (as a health choice not an allergy) and this steakhouse offered two vegan gluten free main courses. They also offered amazing steak, chicken, fish, appetizers, salads and a handful of vegetable sides (that they were willing to leave the dairy out of) so we could share. The kids menu had steak & fish along side the more normal pasta options. Beautiful setting, great drinks.
Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Sides were delicious. Lovely atmosphere.
We were dissatisfied with the seating, apparently the hostess did not pay attention to my request for outside/ocean seating. Instead we were seated next to a table of 15+people, it was a very loud group. The positive experience, our dinner was great!
Very good steak, but took 40 minutes to be served.
Went here for our anniversary and it was awesome. Are so much we hurt. View was specular.
I understand this is at the Four Seasons, but the prices are pretty high for the amount of food you get. My 6 oz. filet mignon was $46. Add to that the cost of entrees (not included as a "package"), such as $12 for mashed or au gratin potatoes, and a meal for two quickly becomes a $150 endeavor. We skipped dessert. Service was friendly and capable.
Of the dining experiences I have had on the Big Island, this has been one of the most disappointing. Was the food bad? No. It just wasn’t all that good.
Let me start by saying that the staff and service here is excellent. The food came out in a timely manner and we were expertly catered to throughout the meal.
In terms of food:
Bread was decent, served with smoked sea salt and fresh butter.
The beet salad was the worst I’ve eaten on the island (I’ve had four different ones this trip). The balsamic reduction tasted burnt and flat. The beets were cooked nicely, but the inclusion of cucumber was a huge texture mistake. The presentation was lovely.
The filet was tasteless and thin. It desperately needed seasoning and the sauce didn’t do much to help it. The creamed corn was average at best.
The chocolate and peanut butter cake was fine, but not memorable.
At the price we paid to dine here, the food should be superb, but it just wasn’t.
My wife had one of our best meals at the Hualalai Grille during our week-long visit to the Four Seasons. The steaks were fantastic and cooked to perfection and the sides were delicious. Also, its a unique place to watch the sunset as you overlook the golf course with the ocean in the background. The only faults we could find are; 1. They don't have a sommelier so do your homework with the wine and, 2. It would be nice if they were open for lunch on Sundays so we could watch football.
Amazing service, beautiful location and incredible meal. One of the best overall dining experiences I can recall...a complete pleasure.
Our favorite restaurant for special occasions. Impeccable, personable service and world class steaks that never fail to delight. Try their take on Brussels Sprouts!
Outstanding food, ambiance and service! We watched a beautiful lightning storm from our table and had a perfect evening
The food was good, the service not great and they should turn up the lights a little bit more.
Anniversary dinner. Was greeted warmly by Dominic and seated right away at a nice table on the lanai. Was kinda noisy inside due to loud talking guests. We were glad to be sitting outside.
Jason was our server and he introduced himself. I believe all servers should introduce themselves. He answered our questions and provided excellent recommendations.
Got the bone-in NY strip aged 38 days. Done perfectly and seasoned well. Had the chipotle chimichuri sauce with it.
She had the Maine lobster side as her entree. Got the cauliflower and loaded mashed potatoes.
They surprised us with an anniversary dessert on ice cream pie. Combination of coffee and vanilla ice cream with caramel crunch and waffle cone cookie.
If the price was more reasonable and noise level lower, I would have given here the 5th star. Overall was very nice. Thanks to the locals working there to make a local feel welcome.
Great restaurant. Friendly, prompt service. Menu had a lot of choices. A bit expensive, but worth it. Wonderful resort dining.
Food is always en pointe. Hualalai Grille is a place we frequent because of their chateaubriand and as always,... Never fails!! The food is extremely well prepared, flavorful, worth the drive and the money. The staff is top notch and extremely helpful and polite. Honest as well, which I love. I have never had a bad meal at Hualalai Grille and always look forward to another trip back.
My husband and I dined here for our 45th wedding anniversary and it was delightful. The rolls with butter and sea salt were a great start to the meal. We both had the filet with the corn and gratin potatoes side dishes. For dessert we enjoyed the macadamia nut toffee ice cream pie and it was delicious! We were on the patio as the sun was setting and it was a perfect anniversary dinner. Jason, our waiter was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's a little pricey, but worth every cent!
Awesome anniversary dinner date. Beautiful setting and great food!
Terrible, unprofessional server. Aside from his attitude and clear inexperience serving, he forgot to enter multiple parts of our order so when some people had their good, the other half did not. The remaining food was rushed and ended up burnt. No food was taken off the bill despite it being inedible.
Outstanding service. Filet was the best beef we've had on the island. Brussel sprouts were just so so compared with Roys 1849 tasting room in Kauai
extremely overpriced, very small portions, very little value for the price. Service was very attentive and professional.
We have loved every meal we've had during our stay at the 4 Seasons! We are dining here one more time before we leave. Definitely the best dinner at the resort!
Great personnel, fabulous food in a beautiful setting overlooking the golf course. Their beet salad was the best I have ever eaten. Highly recommend!
For a $200 dinner the table was so wobbly. We sat outside in the north side first small square table. Table needs to be leveled out and put some shims in it. Like my husband said the least they could do is have a study table that doesn't wobble for $200 dinner.
The good news was our waitress was good and a man named Steve was wonderful our waitress brought a wonderful ice cream cake beautifully decorated and our dinner was excellent t
Great experience, service and food. Since we live on the Big island we will visit again.
The service was good with the exception of water. We were both thirsty after a salty steak dinner. Others than that it was great.
