Howard Wang's - Southlake Ratings and Reviews
We were a party of 8 with 2 bring small children. The service was excellent and the staff was attentive without being too much. The facilities were very nicely done with a modern flair but comfortable. We ordered the bulgogi, Peking duck, pad thai, and chicken lo mein. The bulgogi is a smaller portion, despite being a dinner portion with half the plate being vegetables. The Peking duck is dry and not cut by an experienced duck slicer. It was not good. The pad Thai and lo mein were good and my children enjoyed it. Overall, the restaurant is a good place to go to, but stick to known recipes and don't order the duck.
Food was great. Service was poor. The food took forever. Then, one meal (of 8) was served 15 mins before the rest. Irritating. Had to remind waitress several times for refills. Served appetizers with no plates and dessert with no utensils. Had to ask - and wait for both. Brought us check with no pen. Had to ask - and wait for that too.
Service was outstanding. Food was served hot and as expected. Everything tasted very good. Waiter was courteous and made no mistakes on the order. Checked back often to see if we wanted anything else. Ambiance and lighting was very relaxing. Overall a very nice restaurant with great food. I’d call it a price performer as well. We’ll be back.
We enjoyed the food. The restaurant is beautiful. My only complaint was we asked for a to go container to take the remainder of our food home. The waiter advised he would box it up for us, which was great, HOWEVER he then took our food to each of his tables he was serving to check on them or if they needed anything. Even at one point setting out food down at one of the tables to have a full fledged convo about the sauce that was used to prepare their meal. Needless to say I didn't eat my leftovers.
Arrived early before the rest of our party & waitress seated us, took wine order and left us til the rest arrived. Took order when we were ready, checked on us frequently and didn't bother us when in deep conversation. Much appreciated. Never felt rushed. Food was awesome as well.
Me and my wife went to this place to celebrate our anniversary. They had a really slow service right from greeting at the entrance till getting the food. There was no server who came to take in the order for 15 minutes. We finally got water after 20 minutes. By the time we got the cocktails and appetizers it was 40 minutes. The food taste was not good. Cocktails were ok. The staff was not warm. I would not recommend anyone to go to this place again.
Things seem to be slacking just a little. Was too warm inside, menu pages dirty and warped (which may sound like a minor thing, but it's a sign of missing the details). Table seemed to have been wiped off with last month's rag. Barkeep didn't seem to take his usual pride in our cocktails, and the server was a bit matter-of-fact. Waitress was great and food was spectacular, as always. May have been an off-night (minus the menus).
Great food. Great service. We were given a drink and food menu. After reading the drink menu we all chose a drink only to be told that they were redoing the drink menu and what we chose was not available. Why give a customer a menu with items not available!!!
I'm from New York City and have found it difficult to find good Chinese food in DFW. I've only eaten here twice but have LOVED the food so far! It's very pretty, comfortable and quiet. The booths are tall and spacious and make the dining experience really private. I highly recommend it! Oh and we were there on a Wednesday night which was half price on bottles of wine and 25% off in signature dishes!
We dined here with friends, and enjoyed appetizers and entrees. The Crab Wonton's were delicious, fresh, and not greasy. I had the tenderloin with jumbo scallops. Scallops are difficult to cook, and these were tender and lightly browned on the outside. The oyster sauce was delicious, and the tenderloin was cooked almost to perfection (I asked for rare, and it was medium rare--still, great!). The service was wonderful. I accidentally dropped one of my scallops on the floor (so sad), and they brought me another one!
Highly recommend. Curtains make this a quieter than usual place to eat.
We shared pan seared dumplings and the ribs as appetizers. The ribs were a bit over sauced but tasty. Dumplings had good taste. We shared the happy family for dinner which is your typical fare. The high point was the the spicy seafood fried rice which was great.
Unfortunately our waiter was was more concerned with being fast. Dishes were removed in haste with chopsticks falling on my wife with not as much as a sorry. Everything felt like it was being thrown at us. It took three attempts to bring the check and when he finally brought it back he tossed it in the table. Again not a thank you for coming or have a nice night.
This is upscale Chinese dining. There is something for everyone from the traditional noodles to signature dishes. The Peking Duck is the real deal - how I remembered it in Beijing. This is an elegant quiet place which is wonderful for special occasions, dates and business meetings where you can have a normal conversation without shouting. The patio is a great place for more casual dining and for those with kids.
This evening we went to this restaurant in the service however was not very good the food as usual was very good but we have to say that the service was extremely slow on not too busy tonight and the manager who came over to check wasn't way too much of a hurry to make sure that you got in OK instead of checking to see if all the guest of the table found the experience to be positive. He never got the answer he should've gotten he was too busy
