Celebrated my 22nd birthday! Had a great view during the Dueling Pianos and never had an empty drink in front of me! Very friendly staff, amazing food, and even better drinks!
I made a reservation & they wanted to put us at the bar which was not right, why take a reservation if I can’t get a table. Then they put 5 of us in a booth we barely fit comfortably. Appetizers were good but dinners were not good. The food came out cold & the brisket was very dry. Although The waiter was
Wonderful. I wouldn’t recommend this place
Staff was very attentive and friendly. Brunch was great. Good southern bbq.
Friendly staff. Easy to work with in planning my BFs bday. Jackie and Mel were great!
Trivia night is great!!! Thursday nights!
This review is only based on service at the door- we didn’t stay for dinner…Our party was on time for our reservations. We were told that we had to sit in a booth and leave in less than an hour due to an event being held in the space. We informed them that one in our party was pregnant and that we couldn’t sit in the backless area. No other seating option was provided not even an “I’m sorry for the inconvenience”
We won’t be back
Fun, delicious BBQ spot with very good service. Highly recommend.
Tender beef brisket and fall-off-the-bone ribs. Surprisingly good for northeast BBQ. Great and friendly service. Certainly pricier than most BBQ places in the countryside, but decent pricing given it's prime waterfront location in Hoboken.
It was a great venue to celebrate a 21st birthday with friend and family. The staff made it a lot of fun and festive.
Wasn’t crazy about the food. App. Wings price is crazy for the little bit you get. and didn’t taste all that great. Kind of too loud for me. I would recommend for the experience. It wasn’t for me but may be good for someone else.
The piano players were great. I felt bad for them because I thought this was supposed to be +21 at some point. There were a bunch of little kids running up to the stage and requesting songs. The players did their best considering, but it definitely put a damper on what was supposed to be some adult fun. Staff was very friendly and good was great!
Everything ala carte,
Could not get a simple combo platter at a reasonable price, by the time you mix & match it is near $ 30+.
Nice waitress and they serve Pepsi which was only good thing for me. Would try one more time.
Parking was horrindous.
The service was excellent. The appetizers are all really good but we always go for the wings and the fried pickle spears. We come every year for a birthday tradition and it never fails.
2years ago. Amazing. Wednesday 9/8/21. Bad vibe. Bad service ribs were not even cooked, ate one and refused to eat more or pay. Waited so long for the check that we started to leave . Very disappointed.
Keeping in mind that there are staff shortages everywhere, this means that other workers need to step it up. Management at H of Q needs to ensure that the Greeter is not just standing there, waiting for people to come looking for tables. Instead, he/she should make sure people have their checks or drinks etc. We literally waited for 45 minutes to get our check while people were standing waiting for tables. Meantime, the greeter was doing nothing. Just a suggestion, as seen in other venues. Other than that, the food is consistently good and the waiters hustle their butts off. Drinks are good too. And the entertainment is always fun. Management just needs to do some better training so that shortages aren't such a detriment to business.
Waitress was wonderful. We were able to sit outside, which was great. Awesome location with awesome views. Great for families.
We really wanted to love this place. My husband and I are both big barbeque fans and seek it out wherever we go. Generally, it was a fine experience, not exceptional. The meat lacked flavor, which was managed with sauce and a little salt. (The wings are exceptional, by the way.) The sides were only okay as well (potato salad and collard greens.) What really ruined the experience was our server disappearing at the end of our meal. We sat for 30 minutes awaiting anyone to come by so we could grab a check. Our server checked in on tables on the way to us, but never made it as far as our table, and never glanced up to see what our status was. (I tried to catch his attention every time I saw him.) Even once we got the check, he never came back for it, and we eventually gave it to another server.
We might have given the food a second chance. The ambiance is great, as are the views. The server was charming, but incredibly inattentive once the place got a little bit busy.
Best BBQ in town! Great opening outdoor dining space and nice view of the NYC skyline.
I’m giving a two star to HOQ only based on location and its beautiful view of NYC, other than that our dining experience was very disappointing. First of all the staff isn’t friendly, they all looked distracted and not really into serving customers. Additionally, the meat was dry, not well seasoned and bbq sauce options are very limited. The pull pork was literally a “blob” of meat thrown on a tray. The collard green and mac and cheese are a disaster, no texture, no flavor. Definitely overpriced for the quality of food and poor presentation.
The food is bbq and very tasty. The service was very good and our waitress went out of her way to take care of our party of 8. The dueling piano players were excellent and got the crowd involved. The view across the street of the river and downtown NY was beautiful. I would strongly recommend going here if you visit Hoboken
Nice spot with good food and drinks. The views across the street are incredible.
The food was great and the service was awesome a place to go
House of Que is the only game in town for this type of food/entertainment/drinks etc. They do a good job making people keep coming back.
Food was really good and service was excellent. Would certainly recommend.
Barbeque meat was dry, expected better.
Great food and location.
Very busy place on July 4th. The wait for food extended 40-50 minutes after taking our orders. The food was good. Our waitress was very apologetic. Overall, I would return but on a day when it’s less busy.
The Barbecue was absolutely aweful!!
From no dry rub, no smoke and barbecue sauce that was inedible
Great for groups and outstanding BBQ food. Will be back
House of Que is in a great location on the banks of the Hudson across from Manhattan. The food is pricey, but overall our meal tasted very good, and I would usually consider it to be a good value; however, the service for the price was well below expectation, and this seriously put a damper on the experience. For example, I was only able to order one drink the entire meal, as our waitress never came back to check on us after the food was delivered.
In sum, I usually wouldn't mind paying a higher price, as the ambiance was great and the food was good; however, the poor service made this meal a poor value.
We made reservations for brunch and it was such a great time! Our Server, Melissa was amazing and attentive , the GM Chris was able to spot our picky eater and offer some laughs. We will return and we do not need a special occasion to have a good time.
Sat outside near waterfront in covered area with picnic bench style seating. Very pleasant except for a very loud and boisterous group nearby. Unable to hear each other, outside! Politely said something, as the staff did nothing, and there appeared to be NO management onsite. Food was very good--brisket excellent, sausage good, sides excellent, especially curly fries, collard greens and fried pickles. Skip the (dry) chicken.
Good choice for a casual bbq with family and friends on a beautiful day. Don't sit under the awning with a boisterous bunch!
Good food, quick service, nice outdoor dining
The food was really delicious! My one friend is vegetarian and there were appetizers for vegetarians, so everyone felt included. The wait staff was very attentive too!
Went for brunch on a Sunday. Overall good experience. However we sat outside in the section to right of the restaurant and there was no music. The ambiance over there was lacking and could’ve have definitely used a speaker or something of that sort. But the food, drinks and our server (Nolan) were great!
Food was cold ...seems like it was sitting for long before it was served to us
Taste: not as good for a bbq
Appetizers and main course delivered at the same time
BBQ brisket was dry
Music too loud we cant hear ourselves talking
Bread served cold too
Decent food, decent drinks, but great experience. The view is worth it and the service draws it all together for a chill, get-together on a Friday Spring evening.
We had so much fun at Trivia night on Thursday, it was a high energy environment and the overall game was really great! Our server was very attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. We will definitely be coming here frequently!
The place is big, but too many people for this moment. Pretty loud too.
