House of Prime Rib Ratings and Reviews
We arrived early and was surprised by the crowd at the bar. Standing rm only. That wasn’t too pleasant but everything was much better after we were seated. Our server was terrific. The prime rib is terrific. And we had a really good time. Extra kudos to our server, the carver and the gentleman that helped sing Happy Birthday to our table.
Our meal was delicious. The one and only important negative is that our service was rushed. Half of our dining party was still eating salad which was 15 minutes after being seated and our server brought the baked potato out to serve, and was going to serve our main dish. I had to tell her NO we are still having our salad. That being said she waited ten more more minutes before she served the main course.
BEST PRIME RIB "EVER"....I loved that they now have a woman chef carver, she was so ice to talk to...The prime rib is to die for, seriously you really need to try it. Make sure you make reservations at least 6 weeks out, they are that busy. I have to say the cocktails were deelish as well.....Check them out, you won't be disappointed.
I was not really looking forward to this meal. I don't care for Prime Rib in general, but man! I think I might be a convert. The mashed potatoes and brown gravy were perfectly seasoned and delicious and the creamed spinach is out of this world. The wine list is also awesome.
We spent about $150 for two with wine. It was well worth it.
House of Prime Rib has excellent prime rib, a great house salad, big baked potatoes, and an extensive wine list. But - it’s crowded, noisy, and expensive, and there’s little choice on the menu. We liked the food but overall this restaurant didn’t live up to the hype and we probably wouldn’t go back.
The best place in the city if you like beef. Dine here at least once or twice a month. Never had a bad experience, Prime Rib sways succulent and tender.....service is Old-school top notch. Guests from out of town, celebrating a birthday, first date, whatever the occasion I love this place. Next time will hook up the silver bullet meat cart to my trailer hitch!
This was my family 1st time at the House of Prime Rib. The service was Awsome. We had 2 great host. We were seated right away. I had reservations for 5. The waitress came to the table do the water right after we sat down and welcomed us. I told them we had a birthday celebrator. She asked if we like to order drinks in which we did. Those were brought right away. Right after that we got 2 med round french loaf hot bread with butter brought to the table. Which was followed by them making the family salad. Right in front of the table which my family and I enjoyed. We had ordered our food somewhere between the salad and, bread and drinks. Everything was such a nice transition. Then it was time for the main course. We were not disappointed. Large baked potatoes with loaded with bacon bits sour cream and chives if you like. SPINACH AND ANYWAY YOU LIKE YOUR STEAK. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. ITS WORTH THE PRICE. THERE MOTTO IS NO ONE LEAVES HUNGREY!
Good experience from beginning to end. Started with a good martini, an awesome spinning salad, and the prime rib was tender and great. The Yorkshire pudding (I was told) was as good as it has ever been. The berries and whipped creame were good (not sure why they added sugar to the berries, was not needed).
My only criticism is that there is a lack of vegetables. Instead on a baked/mashed potato I got an extra serving of "cream" spinach. I could not even eat one serving of it, there is way to much flour in the spinach, making it gummy and not good. I would have preferred a simple saute'ed spinach on the side or steamed broccoli/cauliflower (or at least the option for something plain).
House of Prime Rib never disappoints. The star of the show is, of course, their prime rib, aged 21 days , seasoned to perfection, and cooked perfectly. But the sides are also good - creamed spinach, baked potato with all the fixings, Yorkshire pudding. The salad tends to be swimming in too much dressing, so I recommend that you tell the waiter "light on the dressing". But another big plus is how you are treated by the wait staff. We always have great service. They really want diners to have a great experience. That's why after all these years (since 1949) it's still difficult to get a weekend reservation. Reserve well in advance.
Awesome food! Prime rib was delicious! Most tender prime rib I’ve ever had! Really packed and noise! I could only hear the two people next to me type of loud setting. Pricing wasn’t bad. I think we could have used more space but with it being sf area and the demand of this place I could understand why they use ever inch of space they have. Service was average. I would expect better since this place is always fully booked on reservations months in advance. I wouldn’t mind coming again.
