House of Prime Rib Ratings and Reviews
The meat or prime rib was carved to order at your table. My prime rib was excellent as was the cream spinach and baked potato. The Yorkshire puddings were to die for. Ryan the manager was very attentive and helpful as my Mom is in a wheel chair. A wonderful time wS has by all.
Food was pretty good, however service was not.
Hostess was inpatient and impolite, seated us a round table much larger than our party size (so we only surrounded about half of the table). When we asked to move to a table suited for our party size they were not happy about it.
Food took FOREVER and so did clearing our table between courses.
Too bad because the food isn't bad, but not worth coming back.
I am sad to write that we will never eat at the House of Prime Rib again The service was impeccable and the prime rib was delicious. That being said, the reason we will not return is that the ambiance is terrible for a meal where we spent a large sum for a dinner for four (without drinks).
My husband, daughters and I arrived early for our reservation on Sunday, and I observed a number of large groups with screaming (not just crying) young children in the dining room next to the entrance. Their parents made no effort to curtail their behavior or take them outside of the restaurant. Knowing that the restaurant has several dining rooms, I asked the young host to seat us away from crying children. Instead, he seated us in the "cry room" where two children literally screamed at the table next to us throughout our meal. There were two other large groups with screaming children. This was very troublesome because on my way to the restroom, I observed the other three dining rooms were far quieter.
When we left, I described our dissatisfaction to the manager, who was very nice but basically said that he was helpless to correct the situation.
Given the enormous popularity of this restaurant, it appears like there is no incentive to do so.
The food was delicious. I enjoyed every single thing I got there. I am not a super prime rib kind of person and the Yorkshire pudding and creamed spinach didn’t sound so good. I considered getting fish. Boy was I wrong!! I ordered the thin sliced cut, the creamed spinach and strawberry shortcake. It was all outstanding. The baked potato was loaded, the creamed spinach tasted delicious! The meat was perfect and came with three horseradish type sauces to dip in. I used the Yorkshire pudding to dip in my au jus which is def not my thing, but it was fabulous. The four deserts we got at the table were all yummy. Strawberry shortcake and cream brûlée were my favorites. I highly recommend this place. Such a nice touch as they offer your more meat if you are still hungry. No one at our table could eat any extra. This place is a little more casual than Morton’s, but the food was just as good a slightly more reasonable in $$$$. Try this restaurant. Be prepared though that there are not a ton of menu items. Think In and Out vs. Carl’s Jr. What they do well, they do well.
I writing about my 1/13/18 dinner service. This was my 1st time to House of Prime Rib and my reservations were booked almost 4 months in advance. Upon arriving to our 730 PM reservation, we were seated toward left side of the back room where the restrooms are located. As me and my friend decided what to order, we proceeded to encounter a 10-15 min wait. Upon meeting our waiter, we were not introduced nor asked if it was our 1st time at our restaurant. Our reservations were in fact for a celebration of our recent bdays. Our waiter did not smile once. Throughout the course of the dinner, we felt uncomfortable by his cold demeanor. It felt as if every time he came by to introduce the next course, we were almost scolded vs. being warmly transitioned into the next course. 1 of the many exs. of the night was my friend's beverage. He chose a coke and had trouble getting our waiter's attention throughout the night for a refill. It was the waiter at an adjacent table who recognized that we needed help and promptly brought us our drink despite being busy. In addition, our orders were switched. I had ordered a House of Prime Rib cut (medium) while my friend had ordered the King Henry VIII Cut (medium rare). When our food arrived, it was clear that the orders had been switched. There was a clear size discrepancy that even a 1st time patron could recognize as the meats were clearly differing in size/cooking time. Throughout our meal our waiter did not check on our table once. The check was immediately brought. I rarely leave less than a 15% tip. It was the 1st time that I had thought about not tipping given the horrific service. I tried to put myself in the server's shoes. Perhaps he was having a tough night or something was going on personally. Unfortunately, it translated into a terrible 1st experience there. If anything comes from this email I hope that your server(s) can learn that despite the kind of day he's having, to not let it impair his job.
Suggest making a reservation because walk in wait can be awhile. We got there a little early before out reservation but was able to sit in the bar area and have a drink. Overall the food was good and portions huge... Definitely took left over home. The prime rib was perfect and delicious and adding the raw horseradish made it that much more tasty.
We ordered the kings Arthur but cook removed 2 slices before he served it !!! The portion was small for $48.00 the rib was a two rib but the actual steak was small.
The ambience was nice and we for sure like how the cook comes around and cut the prime rib in front of us
I finally made it to the House of Prime Rib after so many years of wanting to go. Overall, it was awesome! The prime rib is as good as it gets, and prices for both the food and the wine are very reasonable considering how much you're getting. Only issue was that it took 35 minutes after we arrived to get seated (despite having a reservation) so keep that in mind during busy times.
My husband loves prime rib, it's typically not my favorite but I figured what the heck. I was glad I did! The food and the service were outstanding. We arrived early as it took us close to an hour to drive here, used the valet parking, and went and had a drink at the bar. My lemon drop was fantastic, but my husbands old fashioned need to be stirred to quite a bit. We were seated before our reservation and let the feast begin! The salad was wonderful, the prime rib and sides fantastic, and we got dessert to go since we were too full to eat it right then. We will definitely be back!
Had a 10pm reservation, got there at 9:22pm had a table for 2 by 9:30pm. That was perfect because I didn’t want to spend any more money on drinks waiting in the cool waiting room! Lol! Every thing was up to par, great service, excellent food, and a friendly and hardy environment. My fiancé loved her birthday dinner, will be mos def coming back for seconds!
