First day back for indoor dinning. The House of Prime Rib never missed a beat.
Fantastic service and an incredible meal.
BEST PRIME RIB YOU WILL EVER HAVE. No contest. Always delicious, always great service. Worth every penny and time spent. Also, the Salad.....BEST. TRUST.
Great service, great food. I hate Gavin Newsom, but LOVEEE house of prime rib!
House of Prime Rib lived up to all our expectations. We are so glad we got to experience this resturant. If you love prime rib with all the sides. You'll absolutely love this place!
Sadly we made it to House of Prime Rib just before the latest shutdown. Nevertheless it was nice having a normal evening in this difficult year. The place looked great, the staff polite and professional and the food - always amazing. Thank you so much and we hope we’re able to come in again soon.
Our server (I’m sorry we forgot your name) was beyond wonderful! She was not only gracious, she was mindful of my husband’s delayed arrival and suggested waiting for his arrival before placing the order for his drink. She kept checking on us (as well as another gentleman) and offered refills when necessary. We were so happy to be back at House of Prime after a 10 month hiatus. The food is just was fantastic as it was before, if not better. If it weren’t for the restaurant closing again (inside dining) we’d probably be back very soon (we live in the east bay),It was so wonderful to be back to support such a wonderful establishment - we’ll be back soon!!!
HOPR was hands down the best dining experience I’ve ever had. The quality of the food, service, ambiance and the amazingly strong drinks makes every moment of this place worth it. I cannot wait to go back once they reopen!
The restaurant and staff are doing everything possible to provide the iconic SF dining experience that we all expect during these COVID times.
Wonderful food and service as usual. Well spaced. But the waiting area wasn’t.
We love HOPR!!! We are sad the city is requiring them to close indoor dining again. Prime rib is always amazing and the staff were fabulous. We had a great time! Thank you, HOPR!!
Can’t wait for you guys to come back!
I felt like we were judged. I’m a super sweet person . I did not need the stress . Very sad .I will not be coming back .
Great food and Service! We waited a bit past our reservation but it was well worth the wait!
The staff was very friendly, professional and courteous. They all worked together to make it a memorable experience. We are big fans of this restaurant and we look forward to continuing to support them. Best wishes to all involved during this difficult time!
Gratefully,

It was my birthday & everything was excellent!!!
The Prime Rib dinner continues to be the best in San Francisco. I enjoyed in-door dining in this beautiful interior. Distancing was practiced as well as wearing of masks. All the staff were courteous and attentive...who could ask for more! Long Time Resident of San Francisco.
Straight perfection!
Excellent meal, great service, good safety protocols. Felt safe and left sated!
We are SO HAPPY that HOPR has survived COVID and reopened again!
We have NEVER been disappointed with the food and service here and can't wait to go back again soon!
The prime rib was delicious as ever (along with all of the accompaniments). Tried the double King Henry as we had seen on social media and was not let down by the taste and size of the cut!
Very disappointing for going to HOPR last night. I understand they are fully booked for the whole three months but we tried to go whatever reservation was available. Sad to say, it was almost 2 years since my last visit and finally got into the restaurant.
First our booth table wasn't setup properly and the person that sat us forgot the proper plates and utensils, our server didn't notice until she served our salad. Then when we got our orders. I was disappointed with our Chef, I believe Chef Christopher and the cut of the meat. I ordered a Double King Henry VIII but not sure if it was I was expecting for a Double King. He gave me two ribs and one of them is missing a meat. Didn't bother to complain but after 20 minutes of gobbling the meat was beginning to be cold so I stopped eating.
I just hope I ordered a Triple King Henry VIII instead but still even their House of Prime Rib cut that my wife ordered looks more like The English Cut. Overall on the ambiance I gave a 4 Star all others were very poor. See attached picture for the difference since 2018 and the picture we just took. I got two pairs of bone but I was a missing the meat part on the top bone.
Took my 2 older sons for their first time. They loved it!!
My husband and I celebrated our 17th anniversary at HoPR, best choice for any special occasion really. Service, safety, and of course prime rib were all on point. Martinis were strong and the wine list exceptional (Duckhorn Merlot pairs perfectly with prime rib) so be sure to enjoy some amazing wine with your meal!
Go and enjoy yourself at HoPR, don’t forget your mask. ;)
The food was great, as was the staff and overall experience.
Hasn’t changed in the 20 plus years I have gone to HOPR. Its the BEST!
We had a late reservation but arrived early. We were able to get seated right away. We used hand sanitizer upon entering and the dining areas were spaced out for social distancing. We sat at a booth that has plexi surrounding it. It felt extremely safe. Our server was spectacular, we provided us our salad from afar, still giving us the pleasure of the theatrics to make the salad. We met the Chef who prepared our meals and it felt very safe. The food was excellent as normal. Prime rib dinners were cooked the way we wanted and was very filling. We ended up taking some food home and our server gave us an extra loaf of the awesome sourdough bread! Highly recommend and felt all taken care of.
Wonderful as always! Good to see that this place hasn't changed, they are as amazing as ever. However, they have implemented all kinds of safety procedures to ensure protection for their staff and patrons, which is so reassuring. Prime rib was as delicious as ever, and the atmosphere (while less populated) was warm and ambient. Five stars!!!
Delicious food and excellent service as always!
Antonio was great! Would move in this place if they had an upstairs for rent lol
Definately worth the wait. They haven't forgotten a thing - being closed for so long. Food was great and Franks Cosmos are the BEST.
We had made a reservation and weren’t seated for 40 mins. We came to find out that they had mistakenly skipped us. As we were being seated the manager came over and promised our corkage fees and any desserts we ordered were going to be on the house.
I was pretty annoyed before this but I think that this was just a simple mistake and they did their best to make it up. Outside of that the service was great, food was great. We will be returning. 5/5 overall
So glad they have reopened. This is one of my favorite places! The food was absolutely delicious as usual and service is always top notch.
We were so happy when HOPR opened up again during Covid!! Everything was perfect, as always.
Best prime rib as always. 👍😍😋
The restaurant was already fantastic and the COVID protocols that they have taken are impressive and add a level of safety and security.
Amazing as always! Same experience as before with covid precautions in place.
It feels great to be dining at HOPR again. Food was excellent as always. Thank u for taking all the necessary precautions. Appreciate it. 🙏
We were happy that House of Prime Rib hasn't changed. Quality is the same. Unlike other restaurants that re-opened, the quality has gone down or they don't have a lot of things on their menu. Dining at the House of PR was a great experience! Makes you forget that we are still in the pandemic zone. It's nice sometimes to feel like you got the pandemic is over even if it is not over yet. The ambiance and people are happy in the restaurant. Thank you House of Prime Rib!
I've written a nice, long review about HoPR before, so this one will be shorter. I LOVE THIS PLACE! And I have to admit, I like it even more with the reduced seating. I know they like to pack the place, but it feels so much more comfortable, and we don't have to yell at each other, when there are fewer people. Brandon was our server, and he was FANTASTIC! He was very attentive to our needs, was very nice, charming and funny. (I requested him for my reservation two nights later with different friends.)
If I had to make a complaint, it would be the women's restroom. The stalls are old, and it shows. The restaurant has always felt classy to me, until I go to the restroom. It's tired, and more often than not, there is toilet paper on the floor and water has gathered on the sink because women are nasty and don't care. I actually mopped up a lot of the water myself when I was in there. I expect something like this at a fast food restaurant, but not HoPR. This would never stop me from going there, of course.
It was a wonderful experience and delicious food.
months after being locked down this was a great reward
