Been coming here all my life, great service, great food!
Father's Day and wedding anniversary
The service was fantastic the food was delicious and the ambience is charming
Father’s Day tradition. We always love the food, the portions, the service and the simple menu. We love you HOPR!!!❤️
Service and food is very good. Will recommend to family & friends.
Excellent all around !!
Service was great food was spectacular
We had a wonderful time celebrating an early Father’s Day last night
This was our 4th time having dinner here & it’s always been fantastic! Best Prime Rib you will ever have and a really great selection of wine as well. Just make sure you make a reservation several weeks in advance as it’s always full. Will definitely be back again!
Our server, along with the rest of the staff, could not have been better. However, the noise level was out of control. Rather disappointing as my many previous visits were not that way. Food was excellent!
Fantastic experience and wonderful staff.
The House of Prime Rib specializes in one thing...Prime Rib...Don't bother coming if you want anything else. Prime Rib is king and the cuts are tender, juicy and just the right portion to fit all appetites.
We started off the evening with their famous three-pour martinis. I had a glass of Klinker Brick Syrah with my dinner. We always enjoy the smaller City Cut. With all the sides (huge salad, baked potato, Yorkshire pudding, creamed spinach and great bread), it is just the right amount for us.
The next size up would feed a bigger appetite in my opinion...any larger and you'll be taking home leftovers for sure (not that that's a bad thing). The service is always top notch and you still get your souvenir photo of your delightful evening...still a treat.
For dessert, we went with the berry trifle. WOW. It was a perfect balance of berries to creme anglise. So delicious...we shared it and that was plenty.
The service is still as top notch as ever...another of those old San Francisco establishments that kept their wait staff as long as possible during COVID.
As to cost it is truly an excellent value for a lovely evening out. We will return as always.
From checking in to the wonderful wait staff this place never disappoints!!!!
Taking my Dad out early for Father’s Day was a mid-day treat that everyone enjoyed! The service was excellent and the food is always outstanding. We are so glad that HPR is open and we can enjoy dinning in again!
It’s the HOPR. They do it right
Consistently a great meal that you can find in The City!! Love the standard bread, salad and the house cut of prime rib that you can order with the accompanying creamed spinach or cream corn along with the Yorkshire pudding and baked potato or mashed potatoes!! A stellar meal!! Yes...I will go back and back to rekindle those moments of past visits!! My best go-to meal in The City!!
The price of the meal comes with bread, salad, corn, potatoes and the prime rib. The corn was extremely good as well as the sour dough bread. The salad was also very good. We had to ask for more butter for the baked potatoes because they were otherwise dry. The prime rib was more on the rare side than medium rare and unfortunately the prime rib lacked flavor and seasoning. I even tried it with a little horseradish but still lacked flavor. Overall, the meal was good but I had higher expectations for the prime rib. What we make at home has much more flavor.
A bit loud since it was fully packed , but great food and great service.
First time back since Covid lockdown. Everything was as special and wonderful as it always was. Prices up a bit but we’ll worth it. Prime rib is cooked and served exactly the way you request it. All of the fixings are fantastic.
The service here is ALWAYS wonderful. The food varies but was good on this trip. For some reason the spinach which they serve with almost every meal was mediocre but the corn was great. Takes a Long time to get in for reservations...Months in fact at this time so if you are thinking about going sometime make a reservation now.
First time there, and everything was terrific! Friendly waiter, great cuts of prime rib. And the English trifle dessert was delicious.
Advance Father’s day celebration. Blue was attentive to our needs. Great food and value . Tasty prime rib.
Always a treat! The service was great and the food and ambience were great per usual!
Totally a wonderful experience. From checking in to paying the bill. It was very nice. Expensive, but nice.
Went for a my birthday and couldn’t have been more pleased by service and food. We have been coming here since the 90’s and still thoroughly enjoy every meal. Service was excellent and left very full!!
Delicious meal, with great service!! Had a lovely time
One of my all-time favorite restaurants. The food, the service, the martinis - everything about this place is 5 star.
GREAT RESTAURANT. HOW MANY POINTS DO I HAVE WITH OPEN TABLE? COULD YOU PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL AND LET ME KNOW? THANJKS.
I have reviewed House of Prime Rub enough to last a lifetime! It has and continues to be a favorite! Never have had a bad experience. Their prices keep going up. They may price themselves out of business.
Aaron (our server) was awesome and fun, and the meat, prepared by Rivera, was mind-blowingly delicious! We loved the mashed potatoes and spinach and corn, too; oh, and the salad! I meant to pick up a bottle of that dressing but I forgot… Looks like we’ll need to go back! :D
Absolutely the best prime rib I have ever had!!
Feeling kind of rushing us to finish all in an hour. We didn't even cut the bread up and the salad was there already. While just laying the salad fork, our server was already asking the Chef to get our prime rib ready. My server did check on us but seems busy running around due to short staff. Portion are definitely smaller than before.
We used to come here every family birthday, graduation, anniversary, etc. We didn't come for 1-1/2 years because of the Pandemic, but returned last night to celebrate a graduation.
The prices are much higher, while the portions are smaller. We didn't mind the smaller portions so much, but the higher prices are just gouging. There also were much fewer choices in the menu--basically one fish option and no more crustaceans for non-red meat eaters.
The service was poor as well. We had a trainee prepare our salad, and she hardly spun it and poured too much seasoning salt without mixing it. We usually love the salad, but all three of us left almost half of our salad because it had clumps of seasoning salt.
Although the restaurant was less than full capacity, the wait staff also didn't refill our drinks very often. It was like we were being punished because I, very politely and gently, said the salads were too salty.
We were not asked if we were celebrating anything. The waitress was in a hurry to go to other tables and didn’t check on us.She gave me my husbands prime rib with my sides and laughed it off.Food was Great!!!!
The prime rib is just Awesome but the cocktails + sidecar…? AmAzInG!
HOPR has always been my family's go to for special occasions. We love the consistency of the food (pre and pst Covid) and last night was equally wonderful. The meal was exceptionally good and the staff was very attentive. HOPR never disappoints!
The food is always good. First timers will not be disappointed, although experience may fade with frequent visit. Service is exceptional. Depending on the vibe you're going for, this place could either make it or break it for you. To me, it felt cramped and too dark.
As always, HOPR does not disappoint. Great food and ambiance - if you go here, you know what you’re going for.
Perfect meal as always. This is a perfect place that we always return for special occasions
Everything was excellent. A must have restaurant for SF natives or someone just visiting.
