House of Prime Rib
Servers are always so nice...food is excelent and prices are not crazy high that is the reason why i keep coming back... it hard to get a reservation if not way in advance but it is expected as the restaurant has pretty good food and is always so busy.
Prime Rib is absolutely incredible and the service if top of the line, old school traditions that still translate today.
Classic meal that satisfies every time! Service and food were impeccable.
I enjoyed my meal the service was amazing
As usual it was a wonderful experience. The prime rib was excellent. Service was stellar And we had a wonderful time. Will definitely return again
And Shahryar was awesome too.. he's definitely a keeper
The service was great. Our waiter was super friendly and very patient. We got seated right away even though we arrived a little early. Overall it was a great dinner.
Awesome food and awesome service.
Wanted to take my kids since HoPR is an SF institution but was disappointed. The service is brusque, they want you in and out. We were in a cramped booth with an extra chair on the outside which was in the way of the servers. The prime rib and enormous baked potato was fantastic but the salad not very original (romaine and a just ok dressing). The beer selection for my husband was super basic, we expected more elevated choices. For what you pay we’ll go to Harris’ next time for a more chill and upscale experience.
Always a great meal. Never disappoint s
Solid food, service, very good value. So good even after all these years.
The prime Rib is the best even better than Lawry's in Beverly Hills
This place is a must-go classic SF experience. Juicy prime rib, the most amazing salad, unfussy cocktails and impeccable service.
House of Prime Rib is a favorite of ours and we were there to celebrate my sons birthday. We put that we were celebrating his birthday on our reservation yet we needed up in the middle of an aisle. Our table was clearly placed where it was to “squeeze “ us in since we were completely blocking a booth and had no room to move around. The food and service were excellent as always but we constantly being bumped into and I felt like an after thought. I made this reservation 9 months ago, it wasn’t a last minute thing and yet we got what was the worst table in the house. I guess my take away from this experience is to not eat here on a Friday or Saturday night because I’ll probably end up in an aisle with strangers butts hitting my head all night long.
Went there for my beau’s milestone birthday. I wasn’t expecting much, but we had a lovely time together.
My wedge of Yorkshire pudding was fluffy and light, but egg-y and indulgent. Favourite thing was the dark and complex au jus that my cut of beef was bathed in. If you don’t eat meat, don’t come here. Our server, Vicky, was entertaining and attentive. Even though the restaurant was packed, (I booked our reservation weeks in advance, and managed to get a table for 9pm) Vicky still managed to find the time to break out a camera take a photo of us, and printed us a copy as a keepsake. A meal we won’t forget, and we have the picture posted on the fridge to keep the magic fresh in our minds.
our waiter, David, was great. Super efficient but still funny and personable
The ambiance is so lovely and old-timey in the best way possible. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth visiting for an experience of a "SF institution". The starter salad is a little sad (had a day-old vibe), but the dressing was delicious. It would be improved vastly with a few bacon bits on top! The cocktails are amazing, and definitely value for money. The wine list is good also. The star of the show (the prime rib) is worth every penny, especially if you can manage seconds! The spinach is superior to the corn, so make sure you pick correctly! Their espresso drinks can definitely use some work (they had zero crema on them), but dessert was rich and delicious in a way you expect from an old time prime rib place. Great experience over all!
The place is iconic.
It used to be cheaper. Otherwise still awesome
Place was packed side were okay. Felt like it was too busy to deliver excellent service. Not enough staff people were nice. Loud. I wouldn’t bring kids. Good but not great.
Our experience was NOT like any we have had in the past!! We arrived with our granddaughter and her boyfriend and were seated almost immediately at the table that I had requested which was #43.
Our waiter greeted us and was very helpful with the menu.
We ordered drinks for all and looked at the menu of which we all knew having been there before. A little side note my husband and I have going to the House of Prime Rib since our marriage back in the 1950's. Well the salad came on "very small plates", and then the server brought our "prime rib". I tried to cut a small bite and could barely get the knife to cut the meat. It was tough and stringy!!!!!!!!
WOW what happened to the House of Prime Rib???? Our Yorkshire pudding was soggy and flat. Our bill including tip was around $500.00. We were so sorry for our granddaughter as she had wonderful news to tell us and we had hoped that this would be a wonderful evening for her and not her boy friend but her fiance. She had proposed in Iceland to him and wanted to tell us the great news.
They do mainly one thing here, and they do it very well. Good value as everything is included in your meal.
Every time we've been to House of Prime Rib we're always happy with the service and food. The only thing is the noise level is loud. If you're planning to go there for a nice quiet dinner I would not recommend it.
Always love this restaurant since 80’- now 2019... So appreciate They’re keep up the good work!👍🏼
Food is great! If you haven't ate here yet you SHOULD!
Love HOPR! So much fun!
Food was excellent as usual. Our waitress, Monika, was amazing.
I go here 3-4 times a year. King Henry's for life!
Always excellent, but difficult to get a reservation.
The atmosphere was fantastic and the waiter was there for our every need. It was a 5 star restaurant experience without the 5 star price. For the price you’re not going to find a better value for perfectly cooked prime rib
It was our first time eating here, and we really enjoyed our food. However, there were just so many customers packed like sardines. It was like an extremely loud bar. We had to yell each other to speak across our table which was pretty small. It was disappointing since I had expected a nice fine relaxing dining experience. Again, the food was delicious, but for those who also enjoy the whole dining experience, I would not recommend this place.
Everything, from the food to the service was wonderful! +The largest cut (king henry) is enough for 2 people!
Seated 30 minutes after reservation time without a single apology. Asked for medium rare, got closer to medium well.
Our wonderful experience started with the great bar service from Sandra. Sarah and chef Jose continued to take care of us all night during dinner. Thank you.
Stephen was beyond amazing!
Still have top marks in my book. The surroundings the food, the SALAD! It was amazing! It may take months to get in there if you are a lowly citizen like me yet it is worth the wait.
Brandon was great and took excellent care of us for our bday dinner celebration. Love the House of Prime Rib!
House of Prime delivered the full classic beef dining experience and more. The rooms are perfect for keeping the noise level down so you can have a conversation and the food, from the domed carts and table service to the last bite was outstanding
