As an anniversary gift to my wife, I made this reservation for her, our two daughters-in-law, and our granddaughter. I was not a member of the party. I knew Anne would enjoy catching up with the other women in the family. From the rave reviews I received from all in attendance, I would guess that food, service, and ambiance were all impeccable.
This was our second visit and remains one of our favorite local restaurants. This visit was to celebrate a birthday. Our server, La, added to the special occasion. Her overall demeanor plus her attentive but not intrusive approach was a lovely addition to our dining experience. Our dinner included raw oysters, calamari, filet with goat cheese as well as a few cocktails. Each plate complimented the one it followed. The drinks were unique and tasty. I highly recommend this establishment.
We went for brunch and had such a great time! The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and nice. We read some mixed reviews on their Sunday brunch, however, there was an overabundance of food and desserts. The price also includes a complimentary glass of champagne, and it was a very generous glass. Our only feedback is they should have two chefs working the omelette, pasta and carving stations, especially during the busier hours. Other than that, it was wonderful and we’ll definitely go back!
Normally, everything is fantastic when I dine here. This day was the exception. I had the lamb special, with the greens and pistachio risotto, and it was greasy. The greens and the risotto were laden with grease - not butter: grease. Everything else was delicious, though. Don't worry. I've been here too many times to know that this was not the norm for you. I'll be back.
We received a gift card for Hotel Fiesole and decided to hold it for our 37th wedding anniversary dinner. We came on a dreary rainy Saturday night and walked into a beautifully decorated entrance all ready for Christmas. They sat us right next to the window that looked out over all the twinkling white lights in Skippack. We had the best waitress, named "LA". She made our evening perfect. she catered to our every need. We both ordered the specials (Black bass filet over root vegetables) which was delicious. They surprised my husband and I with a glass of champagne along with the most delicious chocolate crepe dessert ever! My husband and I have gone to a lot of restaurants over the years. This was our first time here and I can guarantee you it will not be our last! Thank you for making our anniversary so special!
At Sunday brunch, the main entrée foods at the buffet were very good, but the deserts were nothing like the fancy, pretty ones pictured on their website. Brunch is until 2:00P and at 12:00P there was hardly any deserts to select from. Most plates on the desert table were empty. For a ladies brunch we look forward to the fancy deserts so we were very disappointed. The chef at the food buffet was wonderful and friendly.
While the food was very good (no complaints on that except for the dinner rolls), I would have to say that I have had meals equally good for less money at other venues. It was quite expensive. Our bill was $196 for three people. For that kind of money, I really don't want to see TVs in the bar. I expect a more elevated level of dining. And I would prefer to not have some kind of Sirius/XM music playing that interrupted with commercials. Honestly, that's not $196 worth of ambiance. It's a pretty building, but they need to up their game from an experience perspective.
We went for Easter Brunch. I'm not quite sure what happened, but after we were seated it was over 15 minutes before someone came to our table to take our drink order, after we said something. The food was great and the service did get better, but was a rough start.
The brunch was fabulous! The brunch buffet had multiple stations - Omelet station (although no meat selection), breakfast meats/potatoes, antipasto, hot lunch selections, gnocchi station and desserts. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere was quiet and elegant. This was a special treat since it is expensive but well worth it.
Brunch was very good, but the service was definitely lacking. The chef often left his station at the buffet table, and we were unable to get individual pasta dishes as a result. They ran out of some desserts and we were told there weren't any more. The bus boy spilled a mimosa all over the guest of honor, which was very awkward. It was expensive at $32 per person, and disappointing as a result.
No. No, no, no. This place was plain awful. If you like good food, do not come here. If you like good for "for Skippack" then maybe you will like it. We arrived on the Friday night before Valentine's Day to find the dining room completely EMPTY. Not one table. And in the entire huge empty dining room, the hostess couldn't find one table to seat us at other than right next to the noisy bar. The bread came out with frozen butter, the burrata and polenta salad came out with the polenta dry as a bone, and then my dinner came out. I ordered a gorgeous whole branzino, which came out for me to view before they filleted it. It was beautiful. When they returned it to the table, it was covered in this thick creamy cheese sauce which actually turned my stomach. To have to pay high prices for this awful dining experience was the worst part of all.
My Filet was overcooked and it took 35 minutes to bring me a new plate. We were very disappointed. A place like this should know how to cook a filet and when they don't do it right they should fix it immediately. Once it was cooked properly the food was very good.
The night we went to Mistral, the bar area was full, and 1/2 of the dining area was dedicated to a Rotary Club meeting. We were served water, and decided to leave after the Rotary Club rang a bell calling their meeting to order. They should have never allowed open table reservations to be made at Mistral when it was booked for such a function.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Hotel Fiesole last Friday and selected the wine pairing dinner. This dinner is on the menu and is private, not a group event as many wine dinners are. We were presented with 6 courses that the sommelier paired with exquisite wines. We were amazed at the value for the price and the quality of the food. One of the best parts was that our meals were not identical but this was really 2 unique wine pairings presented side by side. We also immensly enjoyed the 40 year aged port that we recevied with dessert. We would highly recommend the wine pairing to anyone who enjoys wine and fine food.
We visited with our dear friends from out of town. Drinks at the bar were well made and the bartender was very friendly. Once seated at our table - she was our server too! (it was a Tuesday evening). The food was excellent. My friend and I had the veal - superbly prepared! We had a very relaxed and fun evening with the bartender/server getting in on the fun too.
I was very disappointed by the food. The salads had no taste. The pumpkin gnocci appetizer was burnt. The scallops entree was actually above average but extremely overpriced at $35 for 3 scallops.
The worst part of the night was the service. We waited at least 15 minutes for a waitress and then after she brought our drinks another half our for her to take our order. I ate my first bite of food 1.5 hours after I arrived!
Additionally, the fine dining room is set up to be quiet and romantic. But with the bar below pumping into the floor and the screams from the adjoining sports bar, the evening was not pleasant.
The spicy version of the mussels was inspired and served with perfectly charred garlic bread. The lamb loin special was perfectly medium rare although more than just a few of the white beans were under done.
The meal was bracketed with a tasty roll with out-of-this-world butter -- smooth, delicately creamy -- and a decadent chocolate lava cake personalized with peanut butter and some ice cream and a lace cookie on the side.
My server Linda was informative and everything was served piping hot. The place was quiet since I was the sole diner for most of my meal but some lively banter frequently wafted from the adjacent bar.
All told it was a very good dining experience but I thought the prices were a bit overstated.
