We have dined at Bella Rosa many times. Always have had great meals. This time it was St. Patty’s day. Two of us had the special corned beef and cabbage, as it is a favorite. The corned beef was excellent. My friend’s potatoes were not cooked and, for both of us, the cabbage was so underdone we could not eat it.
We had a wonderful dinner on Valentine’s night. Everyone was pleasant, courteous and our waiter was outstanding. The food was excellent and the wine divine. We’ll definitely be back
Great service. Always passively checking, with the occasional tableside check-in. Never once felt like I needed to find someone for anything, nor did I feel like we had 'helicopters' buzzing around the table. Perfect!
Food was very good. Ordered the Beef Carpaccio appetizer, which was one of the best I've had. Perfect balance between the beef and garnishes (much less garnish than most; if you're going to call it 'Beef Carpaccio', shouldn't the beef actually be the principle and primary focus?).
My wife had the butternut squash soup, which she raved about as she almost inhaled it. Mains and seasonings struck just the right tone for her.
For the main course, my wife chose the smoked salmon salad. As she noted, smoked salmon is preferable to roasted salmon by her and many other people. So, she chose the salad, since it was the only smoked salmon option. Missed opportunity there, at least with her.
I chose the NY strip steak.
Both were cooked perfectly.
The reason I give 4 out of 5 for the food are 1) the strip steak had some very-real gristle in it. If you are going to offer this cut only pan-fried, then a better grade or trim should be required. 2) Offer smoked salmon as more than a topping on a salad. 3) Although not mentioned previously, do not offer up focaccia tomato pie as the only bread. The olive oil dish provided was staring at us longingly, but we couldn't find a way to marry the two.
Having said all this, it was a great dinner experience, and we will definitely return. Just hope a few things are tweaked and/or replaced.
Food and service were excellent! Atmosphere was lovely but it was way too noisy!
Everything was great. The waiter was very attentive and the meal was delicious. The room was beautifully decorated for the holiday.
The food, service and ambiance were all great! Had a great time and would recommend to others!
It was totally the nicest dining event in many weeks. It could become a regular for us. Thanks for offering this fine experience!
Birthday for relative. Waiter was great especially since he had many tables probably due to weather- snowy day- so maybe all staff couldn’t make it but he was excellent.
We entertained clients from out of state, and they loved it!
Went for lunch with friends. The food and service good, I would go back.
Very good food!!
I've been here many times and I've never had a bad meal . It's beautiful, service is great and the food is amazing!!
I had the pork tenderloin and its was so good!!
Great food and a great little place. Artisan cheese plate is a must. The menu does change seasonally, so check it out first. Stay late at the downstairs lounge and enjoy an after dinner drink.
Ashley always treats us great! Wonderful food, amazing service.
Great place to dine. Excellent food and experience.
Great way to end Skippack Day ... Incredible meal and drinks!!!
Food was delicious. Service was outstanding! Will definitely go back!!
Wonderful restaurant especially since we were able to enjoy eating on the terrace which is very lovely!! Service was excellent & friendly. We were there to celebrate my Husbands birthday and this was the perfect place. The food was delicious fresh and had perfect presentation! We will definitely return in the future to enjoy this restaurant once again!!
We were at Ursinus College for Homecoming and wanted to spend dinner with our daughter and friends whose daughter also attends. I read good reviews on Trip Advisor and was able to get a reservation through Open Table. The area where the hotel/restaurant is located is charming. When I called the place to add to our table I was told that Bella Rosa was the casual restaurant on the premises. I had visions of red checked table cloths and pizza. We were pleasantly that my vision was wrong. You walk downstairs into a really cool dining area with bar. The servers were excellent and the food was delicious. I had a seafood Arabiatta risotto that was out of this world. Our whole party really enjoyed our meals. I would highly recommend and can say with 100% certainty that we will be back!!!
Our dinners at Bella Rosa were excellent. From the fresh arugula salad to the very moist, tender chicken stuffed w sausage to grilled Italian steak on a bed of orzo, ingredients were fresh, flavors melded deliciously, and presentations were notable. Service was attentive but not overbearing. We wished we had room for dessert. But now that's a wonderful excuse to return soon!
We have been at the restaurant several times before and enjoyed the food and service. Again this was a special occasion and waiter did not mention it. Only saw waiter to take drink and food order and at the end to give us the check. Never came over to ask if we wanted another drink or if we wanted dessert or coffee. He just asked if everything was fine and if we wanted our check. Will try again, hoping this will not happen again
Menu was varied with enough "foodie" choices to satisfy everyone. My bloody Mary was on target, and so was the martini however the specialty drink our friend ordered was disappointing. Our crab cakes had a beautiful presentation and were flavorful. My mussels were good in a light broth, the crab and corn soup was full flavored and hearty. We are looking forward to a return visit.
Very good food...fair price for the amount of food. Very good apps and main
We came on Memorial Day and we're the last customers. We expected to be rushed but they could not have been nor gracious. Our server was just amazing. The food was also outstanding. Had a great time and will be back.
My friends & I had a lovely time at the Bella Rossa yesterday afternoon. The food was delicious & the service was excellent. We ate at our leisure & were not rushed to finish. I definitely will recommend the restaurant to other friends & I look forward to dining there again soon.
I have been here many times, usually for an after dinner drink & wind-down, so having dinner here with friends was a real pleasure!
As usual, the food and service was great! The staff was very attentive. The spring menu had just started and it was so difficult to choose. I had the Italian steak with salsa verde and sweet pepper and zucchini orzo. My wife had the Italian sausage and Provolone stuffed chicken. Both dishes had tons of flavor. We will definitely be back soon!
Fabulous food equaled by outstanding service. A little pricey, but a perfect special occasion restaurant.
I have to say I was quite disappointed in the food. Service was good and I like the atmosphere. I had the butternut squash soup (ok) and the broccoli with shrimp fetticini which definitely lacked flavor, quite dull. My friend had the Italian brisket. The waitress warned us it has a layer of fat on it, but geez, it was very fatty. Why wouldn't the fat be trimmed off before serving it?
Have been meaning to try this spot for a while. Service was professional, quick and attentive. Wine list is impressive. Atmosphere is warm and inviting. Great place for cocktails. Food was just ok overall. Salads were composed nicely and quite tasty. My pork tenderloin with brussel sprouts and potato hash was very good. There was a miss-execution on the scallop entree. While the rissoto was done very well, the scallops were so salty they were ineadible. But the server quickly replaced them with a new batch which were done perfectly. But unfortunately the taste buds were still in shock from the first batch. Pass on the complimentary "foccia" bread. Its nothing more than soggy cold sicilian pizza. Nice dessert list. The crem Brule was excellent. Will probably give it another try.
Excellent food ,drinks, service and atmosphere . Highly recommend for occasion or just a nice night out!
it was just ok. probably a better destination just to go for drinks. Bar crowd was super loud so dinner conversation was challenged. Food was ok but nothing to go back for. i was a bit disappointed. wasnt horrible, just uninspired.
We come here a lot & always have a good meal. Casual & cozy atmosphere. This time I had the surf & turf. Filet was perfect but scallops were way too salty. So was my husbands carrots. I think the chef spilled the salt all over our meal. We ordered bread pudding for desert & it was just ok. It wasn't like pudding at all & more like an apple pie filling. We were very disappointed that the Nutella crepes were taken off menue. They were the best!!! We will come back because this was the first time that we were disappointed.
Staff is ALWAYS spot on. Food is perfected. Never disappointed, HIGHLY recommended!
Overpriced, but food and waiter were excellent. Came with a child and they placed the 3 of us next to a bar!
I love the decor and atmosphere at Bella Rosa, and the service is great. Unfortunately, the food is just 'okay'. I had scallops over risotto, and it was okay, but nothing memorable. I am hoping the chef had an 'off' night, but I'm not sure......we are not sure we would return for dinner, given the prices.
Always an awesome meal. Lala is the best server ever.
Met 3 friends here for a Secret Santa exchange and to catch up. Our server was an absolute delight - looked a little bit like Ryan Gosling- and handled all of our good natured flirting with him in a very fun and respectful way. Hope he didn't feel sexually harassed, but he was just so darn cute and he could have been any one of our grandsons. Festive atmosphere. Except for the couple at the bar that was trying to make a baby -we chalked that up more to the alcohol than their lack of good manners - it was overall a wonderful venue. The food was reasonably priced and it's preparation and presentation were both on point. We'll definitely be back.
The place is stunningly gorgeous. It was decorated for the holidays and the atmosphere was lovely. The food was under-seasoned and showed poor attention to detail (I had butternut squash soup and the special: crab ravioli in a blush sauce with some very tough monk fish.) The server was very attentive and the bartender made a very good pear martini. I wish the food had been better.
The atmosphere at this restaurant is wonderful and we go back hoping that things will improve.
This last time and the time before one meal came out piping hot and the other was barely warm. My pasta and salmon were very hot but bland and my dining partner's beef brisket was hardly warm. Something in the kitchen is not right for this to keep happening.
Also, we have been tempted to try the tasting menu but when the chef won't entertain even giving an inkling of what he intends to prepare, it is hard to go for this option.
