This restaurant is permanently closed. Owned by the Pestoni Family, the Hotel D'Amici Ristorante features traditional Italian cuisine with homemade pastas, fresh seafood, delicious desserts and, of course, Pestoni Family wines from Rutherford Grove Winery.

Critically acclaimed (Gourmet, Los Angeles Times, Zagats,) Southern California protégé of Wolfgang Puck and Marcella Hazan, chef Joe Venezia served as Executive Chef of the Hotel Bel Air, i.Cugini and il Boccaccio. He recently moved to Calistoga where he serves as Executive Chef at Hotel d’Amici Ristorante. Chef Venezia is one of only a few chefs who had the pleasure of cooking alongside Marchella Hazan. Pastas, sausage, wine and even the pickling is made in house and by hand.

We live just up the mountain from both Calistoga and Santa Rosa. Calistoga is only 25 minutes but we often forget to venture that way instead of Santa Rosa or Healdsburg. Last night we wanted to try something new and I had a bottle of 1971 nebbiolo i've been dying to open. I picked this based on prior reviews and it looked like it was reasonably priced.

We generally don't get great service when we try new places (we are late 20s) but last night our server was fantastic from the get go. He expertly opened our bottle of wine, without asking decanted for sediment - and it definitely needed to breath! He could tell we were on a leisurely dinner date pace and didn't try to rush us to order. I always appreciate servers that can read their table.

We ordered the heirloom tomato salad and wild mushroom bolognese papparadelle to share. The tomato salad was a special so you will be hard pressed to find it there going into winter, but the pastas are made in house and not to be missed! Perfect texture, great flavor, and came out piping hot. I had the veal scaloppine and he had the filetto. Both our entrees were great. We were worried we might have ordered too much but we finished everything.

I'd recommend this to anyone looking for unpretentious, great quality italian food on that side of the mountain. Corkage was $15 and they don't have cocktails - beer and wine only.

We had a wonderful that ended up being our favorite in the Napa area. We shared our meals and 2 flights of wine with our meal which made it even better by trying more items. Finished with an excellent affogato and we will be back!

Delicious authentic Italian dishes. Gnocchi was delicious. Great wine. Our server was Kyle. Very personable, happy, and knowledgeable of the food and menu. We had a great birthday celebration there with girlfriends.

The food was amazing. The service was ok when we arrived but once we ordered our waiter literally disappeared. Someone else served our food and we never saw the waiter until we asked for our check. We were only offered beverages once and bread once.It would have been nice to have been offered seconds of both. We were there at 6:45 so it wasn't busy when we arrived but continued to get busy which may have been the issue for the poor service.
The dishes we had were:Cruda “in Bagna”,Pera e Gorgonzola,Strozzapreti Al Frutti Di Mare and the lasagna. All was great except the lasagna the cheese on top was hard and it was dry. We also were not offered fresh grated cheese on our dishes.
I would go back but would be more assertive with the waiter.

This is definitely one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Calistoga. The food is fresh with delicious sauces. Menu prices are reasonable. Service is excellent. We highly recommend a visit.

Food was delicious with unique sauces & portions weren't overwhelming--just right. Wine list was extensive, as expected for the area.
Busy for a Sunday night. Initially not a good impression. No one at the maitre d' station when we arrived. Things seemed hectic as he was bustling around taking things to tables and took quite a while to even get to us. Meanwhile other incoming diners started backlogging behind us and we were all standing in the aisle right next to diners at tables. Not sure if our reservation made a difference (he never asked us and the folks behind us didn't have one). He was harried. There was one small table for two (which would have been fine) but he mumbled something about why it wouldn't work which made no sense. So we and everyone else were left standing even longer as he waited for other tables to open up and prep them. Meanwhile he kept going back to help the waitstaff serve.
Once seated things got a bit better. Our waitress was personable and didn't seem to let the surrounding bustle bother her, though it did slow things down. Our food wasn't as hot as it should have been; I watched our plates sit on the pick up shelf for quite a few minutes as she chatted with the couple who came in after us.

The decor was very nice and the food was super, so I'd go back-- just hope for a quieter night with more staff.

We always enjoy our dinners at Hotel D'Amici Ristorante. The food is excellent, the wine list is terrific, the service is exemplary! We always make sure we eat there on each of our twice-yearly visits to Calistoga.

Very disappointing the only saving grace was that the waitress was fantastic but she couldn't make up for the lousy food
