I was worried about service when everybody shows up at the same time and especially for Leafs Habs on a St.Patricks Day Saturday night. Thinking sort of a Hell’s Kitchen nightmare. However, the service was second to none and food fantastic. We had time to spare before the game started. Cant recommend Hot Stove enough.
Portion of the small seafood tower was pathetic.
Way too slow for a venue based on hockey game at 7
Overall a bit disappointing. It’s been a few years since I’ve been. The service has fallen significantly. This used to be a very special night with exceptional service. We were pressured to order immediately. Our appetizers were prompt and delicious. But the steaks took 45 min and we almost missed the start of the game. The steaks were excellent and cooked perfectly but overpriced. We had a medium valued wine and the bill was well over $300 for two people. The place was packed and noisy, which I don’t mind, but I guess popularity leads to complacency. Our server seemed distracted and insincere and had no idea what was going on in the kitchen. It’s a fun experience eating so close to the action with the option of returning at intermission but I sincerely hope improvements are made. The Hot Stove used to be a memorable evening and a reprieve if the glorious Leafs didn’t happen to win
I've eaten here several times prior to the Raptors game and it has always been a great experience. This time around .... Not so much.
Rack of lamb was chewy, server didn't know his alcohol offerings, and service seemed to be spotty at best.
Really loud restaurant. We were yelling at each other by the end of the meal. 3 out of 4 meals were good. The fourth meal was just a tough steak especially for a AAA Striploin. All the meals were tasty.
Great and really good food. Timing was perfect to enjoy the dinner and get down for the game
Delicious food, great ambiance (nosy and busy but up-beat). My husband and I had dinner before a Leaf game and we split the 14oz rib eye. It's pricey but it's upscale so it's expected. The steak and sides (mashed potatoes and garlic brocollini) were very good. We would go back.
Great meal. Food was fast! Excellent service!
The restaurant was late in opening the doors, so we were not seated at our expected (reserved) time. Our actually server was just fine, although not outstanding.
The food was great - the bacon-wrapped filet was AMAZING and cooked perfectly, but it was quite expensive for the 2 of us.
As for the ambiance/atmosphere, it is a nice, cozy atmosphere, but the fact that we were seated with tables on each side of us within arm’s reach was awkward and uncomfortable. And it was difficult getting out of our seats without bumping the person at the next table.
Awful service. Rude manager
Great ambience, great food, good service. Place to go between periods.
Trevor was great! Excellent service for sons/father leaf game.
Do not order any fish specials, no idea how to cook. Stick to hamburger and you will be ok.
This was my first visit to the Hot Stove Club. We made reservations for 5:15 pm — plenty of time before the 7 pm Leafs game. We waited almost two hours before we received our main courses and missed the first 2/3rds of the first period and the Leafs’ only goal of the night. I will never return.
First impression was very good, great atmosphere and obviously perfect location if you're catching an event at the Air Canada Center. However the food was underwhelming for the price. In particular the caesar salad and the crab poutine disappointed with their lack of creativity and portion size, for the price. The mains were pretty tasty though. Service was uneventful - took our order, brought our food, took our money. Glad I tried it, probably won't go back.
The staff was fantastic at changing our reservation due to a change of needs on our part.
They reacted and were able to accommodate very quickly and the evening was saved
Thanks to them
Calamari appetizer badly overcooked and/or reheated. Twice-baked potatoes were at least thrice-baked and embarrassingly mediocre for a restaurant of this calibre. Excessive mark-ups on wine list, together with lack of low and moderate cost options. In fairness, the steaks were good. Waiter pushed and pushed us to place our orders, since the kitchen gets overwhelmed on game nights. But isn't every night a game night? $400 for dinner for two including tip - nope, no next time for me.
Tables crowded together, menu uninspired, food ordinary decor not great, service was very good though, would not go back.
Great dinner and great service as usual. Go Leafs Go!!
Great service! Johnny was very attentive. Food was fantastic and service was quick!
Comfortable ambiance , low level lighting.
Food was excellent but pricy.
Wines by the glass a little expensive.
The fact that you can return to your table between intermissions is priceless. The staff is very accommodating. While the price may seem high it is inside the ACC so that is to be expected. Very nice experience and we will certainly be back. Oh and when the GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs stops at your table and shakes your hand, well thats priceless.
The bacon wrapped filet is to die for and so is the Prime Rib roast. Soooo tender and soooo flavourful. Great sides too!
I loved this place! I am a raptors season ticket holder and this is a great pre-game spot to enjoy good food before the game. Not the perfect spot for game viewing as there is no court view but there are televisions everywhere and good entertainment .. The decor is really cool and the food is delicious. I had the lobster pasta and to my delight it was al dente ... my mom had the trout and it was fantstic. I would most definitely visit again and am looking forward to my next visit
Overall great pregame dinner. Price is high, but as people report, to be expected. I give the food a 4 star as they missed the mark on the steak this time. They offered to re do it, but I just declined.
Only thing I can say is .... bring back the donuts !!!!
Service and staff were great! Quality of food was less than we expected given it boasts its meat locker and hand cut steaks the quality wasn't to par. It might have been a Hit and Miss but we had to send our meals back for not being cooked as requested. Would give it another try as it could have been an off night in the kitchen.
I was late by 45 minutes for my reservation (Toronto traffic getting ridiculous) and was greeted respectfully by front staff. Sat down right away, attended to quickly ordered food and received it all before puck drop which I thought was incredible...I will come back everytime I have an event at the ACC...
I used to go to the Hot Stove quite often, before most Leaf games that I attended. However, last year, I found it simply took too long-from the time we got to order, to when we got the food, to when I was able to pay and leave. So I switched to E11even (another great place).
Thought I would try the Hot Stove again for the Leafs home opener last week. Noticed a few changes to the menu as well as management of the restaurant.
Service was noticeably better from the moment we sat down. Food, as good as always, arrived much faster-just as it does as at E11even. Noise level is high but it's to be expected given the number of tables in that space.
Was impressed with the changes. Will be back in November.
Not only is the food fantastic, the service is top level. The staff actually makes you feel like a member of the family
Great service, very good food selection, very warm atmosphere and great quality of food.
Always a great time !! Best prime rib !!!! Bring back the donuts !!!! You need to have them all season long !!!!
Marko is an awesome waiter.. always brings smiles to the table and remembers names.. like an old friend!
If ordering from kids menu for your children, the chicken fingers were fine, hamburger is terrible, pasta is average. The catch of the day was dry yesterday, the lobster pasta and prime rib were good.
Amazing foods incredible
A great place to dine prior to the game. Steaks and table dishes are done to perfection. Service is top notch and professional.
Surprised my husband with a Leafs game and dinner for his 75th birthday. He was blown away!
The game was the highlight but the Hot Stove Club was a great time and wonderful dinner. When we arrived, my husband was greeted with a "Happy Birthday" by the Hostess and Service Staff. The quality of the food was comparable to other high end restaurants, expensive but worth it! You have the option of coming back to your seats between periods for drinks or dessert, etc. We did the dessert and they provided my husband's at no cost because of his birthday, but we didn't have time to finish it and get back before the period started. We would highly recommend the Hot Stove Club when visiting the Air Canada Centre.
the food and service were great.... i will return,,,,
With it's legendary place in Maple Leafs lore, the Hot Stove provides a convenient, and somewhat pricey, place to enjoy a good dinner prior to seeing the Leafs, Raptors, or other event at the Air Canada Centre. The space is somewhat "close", so you'll get to know the folks at the tables next to you. But, the food is very good. But don't be looking for reasonable pricing. As part of the overall ACC environment, you have a premium to pay on your food and beverages. But, it is open to all attending an event - you don't have to be a part of the Air Canada Club or similar. And, it is a quick walk to your seat after dinner. I will go there again for nostalgia and the food, but thank goodness I have an expense account!
An enjoyable family evening. Service was friendly and attentive.
