Food was 6 out of 5 as it has been every time before. Post Dinner food coma never been enjoyed more. Chipotle Mussels excellent, lasagna excellent, Steak Excellent, Crab cakes the best, Gnocchi perfect. Service - some of the best I have experienced. Would eat there weekly if I didn't live so far away.
Four of us were celebrating 2 birthdays (a few days apart). We were well liked after by our server & enjoyed our conversation with the manager, who checked in with us.
In error, our waiter brought us the wrong salad. He was more than willing to take it back and bring us the one we had ordered. We were splitting the salad and he brought it already separated on two plates. We had the grapefruit and avocado salad, which was very refreshing. I had the Fettuccini Carbonara, and it was the best I have every had. Our waiter was attentive without hovering. We both really enjoyed our dinner and will be back soon.
A great experience. It always is. It's about a 10-minute walk from the financial district, where all the restaurants are noisy and cramped. This is the remedy.
It was a buffet night. The selections of food and deasert were great. The price was reasonable. Will go back there again.
Needed somewhere to go for a work lunch. Perfect set up for the six of us at a round table. Attentive service but not rushed. Host brought over a coat rack even. Lot s of options on the menu and quick removal of empty dishes. Always enjoyed the Hot House and glad to see its still a place to always consider. Have been for Wednesday night buffet and Sunday brunch too and never disappointed.
Great experience!! The food was varied and delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
Great brunch, awesome selection, good service.
It’s a little expensive
The restaurant was very crowded and noisy, but it was Easter Sunday and extremely busy
Great selection of food at the Sunday brunch but the brunch does NOT include beverages like tea and coffee. Beverages are extra... over and above a pricey buffet.
I was treating friends who have become family to an Easter weekend dinner. I've eaten in the Hot House many times and have never had a poor or even standard meal. There's a server in the area by the Front St. windows, whose name do not know, but his attention to good service is wonderful. The food was excellent all round, and the availability of affordable wines is appreciated!
Service was great, food good. Always a pleasure!
Brunch was amazing! It was our first time visiting, and it won't be our last. The selection of food was incredible and delicious and the staff were super friendly and accommodating.
Always an amazing experience at Hot House!
We are here often. The food and service is consistently excellent. We are concerned that things will change with new ownership. With such a winning combination it would be sad to see any major changes.
Consistently good food & service pre sporting event. Salmon portion added to spinach salad was generous size & nicely cooked. burger was delicious.
Always a nice spot. Quieter than restaurants in the financial district. Worth the trip.
Excellent brunch with great ambiance and jazz. A perfect place to enjoy a family outing in a fabulous location.
Great place! My family and I really enjoyed it! We will be going again.
My friend and I really enjoyed our lunch here a few days ago. The waiter (Mark) was positively perky and very friendly and helpful. The food was hearty and very good. I've also been here a couple of times with a largish group, and we were very well taken care of.
Great food and atmosphere. Service was friendly but a tad slow. Granted, it was a busy Saturday night. Will definitely return.
Excellent experience as always! When we want consistency of all the elements of eating in a restaurant we head to the HH!
Nice, comfortable place. Butternut squash ravioli was so-so – the tomato sauce overpowered the squash filling. Good deal on cocktails. Service was excellent.
There are so many delicious items to choose from. The meals are beautifully seasoned with excellent pairings of ingredients. The ambience is always fun but it is quiet enough for easy conversation. I really appreciate the price point. A stellar meal without exorbitant cost. I return all the time although I live in Markham. Too bad your sister restaurant is on The
Danforth instead of in my area.
Great meal and nice touch that the manager came to our table to ask how everything was
We went for Winterlicious and absolutely loved our meals. Generous portions, delicious flavours.
Great restaurant. First time here and will definitely return.
Wonderful dinner for Winterlicious. My date and I found ourselves enjoying the food and meal enthusiastically. Looking forward to coming back to try the menu further.
Nice cozy place with great ambiance and attentive staff; food was good too.
Nothing was overly outstanding about the whole experience. Reasonable prices, food was fine (nothing to write home about, but no real complaints either, I could eat it again), but our server needs to improve.
He brought out a pate appetizer dish with no bread or toast to go with it. We waited to see if he was coming back with the rest of the dish. When it was clear that it wasn't happening, we had to flag someone else to get him so we could ask if we were really meant to eat pate and mustard alone. He mumbled something vague and quickly came back with a two slices of crostini. After the meal, he gave us the bill without being asked. If it was a lunch, I'd appreciate it because speedy service is a godsend when you only have 1h for lunch. But this was dinner. Are they trying to kick us out? The place was half empty and it was only 8:00pm.
Overall, not a bad experience but not the greatest either.
I had lunch with a friend. We loved the Winterlicious menu. I had the ribs and soup and my friend ordered the chicken parm and salad. All were very good. The hostess greeted us warmly and made us feel special. She even held the door as we left the restaurant. Highly recommend.
The dinner was, as always, excellent. The Hot House is a long-time favorite.
The waiter was incompetent. The food was horrendous . The manager was disrespectful and lacked common sense.
My friend and I go at least once a month to The Hot House. Our server was Dan, he's excellent and we are sorry to hear that he is leaving.
Fantastic experience. The gentleman who served us was very pleasant and professional. The man who greeted my girlfriend and I at the door immediately suggested for us to be seated in a nice booth.
Food is always good,
My friends and I go to Hot House often because it is one of, if not the only, restaurants near union station (convenient location for us) that can accommodate larger groups, is quiet enough for conversation, has a menu with lots of options, reasonable prices and tasty food. We love hot house!
It was very easy to set up the reservation via Open Table. We were a group of four and we were seated at a table near a window. The server was very friendly and patient. He offered many daily specials and recommendations. I’ve been to this restaurant numerous times and I always enjoy taking my friends here to eat. I will definitely come back!
As always, a reliable lunch with good service and great food.
