Hot House Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
It has been about 10 years since my first and only visit to the Hot House. My experience was fantastic all around! There are plenty of food options that accommodate different types of dietary restrictions. My friend and I shared the Stella mussels and it was delicious! I could've eaten the whole basket of bread with this sauce. We also shared the jambalaya, which was delicious with a ton of flavour. It has a good spicy kick to it so only order it if you like some heat in your food. We also shared the lobster/crab pasta, which was tasty and very filling. We ended the night with some homemade tiramisu, which was nice and light. Service was also great- no complaints. My next visit will definitely be a lot sooner than 10 years!
Left a note to be seated near the buffet and got seated very far away and had to ask for a new table. The host was not friendly...he did his job but he didn't look happy. Luckily things changed once we started dining as our servers and the servers in the buffet area were all very nice.
We've been to this restaurant on many occasions and has been consistently good food & service. Today's visit was a bit sub-par. The service was very slow -- we were almost late for our post-dinner sporting event. The food was OK, but not cooked as requested. A bit disappointing :(
We were at The Hot House for my birthday and I had mentioned it at the reception. After we've had our fill of the scrumptious Karaage chicken and Jambalaya, they surprised me with a big slice of cake. I thought that was super sweet. The food in general was great as well. Definitely returning!
My friends and I meet here once at least twice a year and have always had great food and excellent service. We spoke with one of the owners about how much we like this restaurant. They have been in business for over 20 years and it is not surprising. I have never had a bad experience with food or service. The menu has so much selection, it is good for even the pickiest eater. This restaurant is a gem and is a go-to suggestion for get-togethers.
Attended Oct 1st for a birthday breakfast. We ordered French toast and an omelet. Both meals tasted great. The manager also walked around and greeted the guest seated. Nice touch. Our table was right against the windows which was perfect for people watching on Front St.
We were a little disappointed as we used to go there all the time when we lived downtown. Sadly, the food wasn't that tasty. My adult grandson just picked at his pizza (with prosciutto)- he took it home so hope he ate it later that day! I had another pizza, with Italian sausage and it was just so-so. My husband had the Gumbo and wasn't overly impressed. Our server Kathleen and the other staff were fantastic, thank you. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated, clean & large. The outside patio is lovely.
Great buffet on Wednesday evenings.
I booked ahead to get a table near the buffet.
But when I arrived on time, they had given away my table.
Even though they bumped us up in priority, they put us at the other end of the restaurant and it was impossible to get food.
It was a horrible experience and showed they don't really care about the experience of their customers.
