Went the day before the lockdown started again,so patio is only available. Nice ambience for the day, they had the heaters on as well so it was quite comfortable. Our server was very patient with us and recommended a couple things. Would definitely go again

Horrible experience dining out for the first time after reopening.
The receptionists ignored me twice while I was waiting in line for my turn to be seated. Instead they went ahead and talked to two other groups of people who jumped the queue. Eventually I had to interrupt and tell them that I was there first and had a reservation in order to be seated. I don’t want to think it is because that I was the only Asian in that circumstance while everybody else was Caucasian. But it is hard not to think that way especially when that happened twice in a row.

THE LAMB SHANK WAS DELICIOUS. The server split our order of soup as requested, also the dessert. The wine was pricey for an outdoor cafe but tasted very good.

Everything was great except the dressing for the cobb salad.

For the first time the service was not good, we finally asked a server if he was on our table, answer, NO, but took our drink order and we requested he take food order as well.

Hot House has been a happy mainstay of my/our experience during the pandemic – a bright light, full of vitality and cheer, in an otherwise dim time. The food is wonderful, the wait staff truly outstanding and the effort taken to stay open and responsive to customers truly a thing of beauty. Thank you for making the effort and succeeding! I am looking forward to happier, more open days, when we can all green each other without discomfort and be confident to sit wherever there is space. In the meantime, you have created such a welcoming space during the time of Covid. Thank you!

I highly recommend Hot House.

The food is always excellent, however, we appreciate Hot House even more now with its thoughtfully designed and executed heated patio space. A heater was even moved closer for our comfort. The steak and boar dishes, Caesar salad and sticky toffee pudding were great! Ask for the bread!

HotHouse has one of the best patios open during this colder weather and of course COVID restrictions. They have enough heaters everywhere to keep us warm, service always friendly and efficient.

It was our 11th anniversary, and we made reservations but had to wait practically 15mins before being sat because they had accepted too many walk-ins which was disappointing. Service and main dishes were good. Was really looking forward to their house tiramisu which was unfortunately, dry in the middle and wasn’t perfect like it normally is. Also, disappointed that they didn’t write Happy Anniversary or something on the plate to acknowledge the occasion. Why bother asking when completing the reservation then?

My first time visiting and was pleased over all. They were able to accommodate us to a warmer spot, due to the cold temperature on the weekend. Great service

The food was good but the outdoor setting was way too cold - insufficient heaters and an open wall with frigid air blowing in. We decided early on to ditch the appetizers and dessert, and had only an entree. We won't be back until spring.

We had drinks on the patio which was a nice change. We were warm enough.

Hot House has added a huge tented area, open ends, to make it more comfortable for outdoor dining. So even in the rain you can still do some patio dining. They seem to have added even more heaters, so maybe this can continue into the winter?
We always have great friendly service and this last time was no exception.

Unfortunately the full Sunday brunch was not available due to COVID but the waitperson and staff made us feel welcome. The menu was varied and even though it was cold we were toasty by the heaters.

The heaters were okay. However my feet and legs were very cold.

We sat outside and we were comfortable with the outside burners keeping it relaxed. Food was excellent. Service was friendly and safe.
Had a good time despite the COVID concerns and are hoping to go back again before the weather becomes impossible.
Highly recommend.
