Always a good place to go for good food at a reasonable price. Service is usually good, but it's touch and go on holidays and public holidays
Excellent salads and pastas. Good portion sizes. The small pasta was a generous quantity
Good restaurant. . . .
Always good food and great service at s reasonable price.
Great buffet on Wednesday ights, good selection of food and wonderful desserts
great place for consistent food and service. needs a bit of updating and while the menu is "good" could use some more items in the fish dept for mains. also STILL miss the liver and onions.
carrot cake is a staple of ours.
Had reservations at 8pm. Knew we were running late due to traffic, so called ahead to inform restaurant we'd be late. Arrived at 8:10. Waited 5 minutes and were sitting by 8:15. Ordered a bottle of expensive wine and our meals. Wine came, and the bottle was spoiled. Waiter quickly took it away and we ordered a different bottle. It arrived and was great. Waited, and waited for food. At 9:25, asked the waiter to give us our food to go (to give to a homeless person) and our bill, as we had to catch a show at 9:45. Food and bill came at 9:30, waiter took off the price of the entrees. Waiter tried his best, and apologized quite a bit, but no chance we'll be returning to this place. 1hr and 15mins to receive food is a little much, ambiance isn't great, spoiled bottle of wine didn't help.
Good food, friendly atmosphere, attentive service. One thing I have chose this restaurant many years ago was that, except for Sunday brunch!!, you can carry on a conversation. Many times it was my "second" office.
Very accommodating and helpful with our event. Good service, good food... Good time.
Our server went out of her way to help us with food allergy issues to ensure our meal was safe and enjoyable. Not every restaurant cares in the same way. Makes dining there easy and very enjoyable.
Best restaurant in Toronto. I travel an hour to be there. Fabulous
We had the buffet, it was good as before but noticed the slices of beef were very thin. The slices from the dessert station were also on the thin side.
Apart from the thinner servings the food is still very good. The salmon at the salad table was very tasty.
Still a very good value and taste experience.
Waiting staff were courteous and attentive.
The chairs were very hard and uncomfortable, being disabled, we were seated at the table the farthest from the front door. Then the 2 hot entrees arrived 15 mins. before the 4 cold ones. Some birthday celebration!
Hot House never disappoints! It's my go to restuarant when downtown for a special event (baseball game, theatre, etc.). Food is terrific and not overpriced and the service is superb. Great location with speedy access to a lot of entertainment offers. I was with three Hot House "newbies" on Friday night and they were very impressed with the food, atmosphere and the service. I would highly recommend Hot House to anyone!
Great for a family get-together downtown. Sunday brunch is fabulous!
This restaurant is very casual and no frills. The roasted beet salad with walnuts was not very tasty, as the walnuts didn’t taste right.
Great restaurant - clean, friendly staff, great tasting food with decent sized portions. Would highly recommend!
We have been coming to Hot House for many many years - for anniversaries - birthdays just taking friends visiting from out of town out of country etc... it is always a great experience. Staff is wonderful - now that you have the new menu that we had not seen - it is simpler to order without making 10 choices hahahahah.
The waitress we had was truly a lovely young lady - and we would like to have her again next time -
Excellent service, food was mediocre for the price.
Not worth it. Ribs were dry and overcooked. Recommend going somewhere else.
Have been going here for years about 4 x a year, and although change in ownership and menu, food is good and the staff are excellent.
My future son-in-law & I lunched together .Perfect service, as usual. Coffee, always delicious. Margareta Pizza, soo good. Staff is so very attentive. 5 star.
Overall great taste and good service. The only bad thing was that the food was very oily and heavy.
Slight issue with our mussels. Sauces were too salty. Our waiter & the manager seemed concerned & reported it to the kitchen. Hopefully next time we'll taste a difference. They comped us with desserts which made us feel much better! Great service!
Super value. Best-tasting gluten-free pizza crust I have yet tasted. Creative menu, openness to substitutions, great service. Good bet 10 minutes' walk from Union Station.
This is likely the first time I have had a less than perfect meal here. So disappointing. I shared the dip platter. I had it in the Summerlicious menu and it was amazing. The hummus was totally different thus time with less flavour. I had salmon with rice pilaf and veggies. Everything was floating in oil and the fish was dry. Last time salmon was amazing. So inconsistencies for sure. Worst of all when I got home I noticed I had been charged for 2 large glasses of Pilot Noir and I only had one. $16 + TAX AND TIP. TOO MUCH! I was racing to catch my train and just paid quickly. I will likely still go back but will be very careful about the bill and send food back if not 100% acceptable. We meet here once a month or so...very regular customers. My friends had a good meal just not me.
get place to meet friends. great food great place to people watch
Excellent, as always. It’s my go-to for dinner before going to the theatre or a concert.
Our server was very attentive and engaging. Our water glasses were frequently refilled. When we needed to accommodate different tastes and food sensitivities our server was extremely solicitous. We enjoyed the view, the company and the ambience.
Our server was very helpful explaining the different sizes of plates.
Starters, meal and drinks were perfect and finished off with a delicious cappuccino.
My favourite restaurant in downtown Toronto. Never had a bad meal here! The buffets are amazing!
I have been going to Hot House for years. I like the scope of the menu - something for everyone, and the food is always very good.
We felt very welcome. We all LOVED the dishes we ordered. Excellent different salads with shrimp, salmon, or chicken added. Server was very attentive without hovering. Had a good sense of humor. Loved the street view and the restaurant is really nicely decorated and comfortable.
Great friendly service. Food was tasty. Meeting with friends only see once a year.
very accommodating to allow for a visit. Parking underneath was convineant.
Always good food... my friend and I come here often for our get togethers, it's almost like its "our restaurant".
The spaghetti with shrimp, sundried tomato pesto and arugula is amazing!
The Asian stir fry veggies were perfectly cooked.
So happy to see Signal Brewery on the menu. There's a decent wine by the glass selection as well.
I used to go tk this place a lot, but this time the breakfast we ordered came with very salty photato and dry eggs and bacon. Overall dissatified from the meal.
Very unhappy that you got rid of the Tomato Basil soup. Often it is the deciding g issue in favour of HotHpuse
"I love the relaxed feel of this place –Enjoyed the food. Came to celebrate a friend's promotion and was surprise at the nights meal choices for dinner. I was recently here for my 50th birthday brunch and forgot how great the food was and the choice of many dishes. Enjoyed the buffet but initially came in for Summerlious. Service was well-timed and friendly."
the service was terrible the wait time for the server to take our order was 30 mins and to get our bill was roughly 45 mins.
Food was fantastic, plenty of good menu options. Service was equally as wonderful, experienced knowledgeable server. Overall a fantastic night out. Would highly reccomend
