Just about the best food in town!
My husband and I had a very romantic night on Valentines Day! We walked in and we’re greeted with a smile and our table waiting for us! We decided on the duck appetizer! It was over the top!! I ordered the chicken with the Boudreau sausage, very beautiful! Desert was a buttermilk custard covered with pomegranate ♥️ hearts and ice cream on side! Service was perfect and very quiet even though every table and food bar filled. We love Hot and Hot every time we are Blessed to go.

We celebrated Valentine's Day with a Saturday night dinner. One of the top 5 meals of my life. Amazing. Sit at the open kitchen bar. You can enjoy watching the chefs prepare your food. Service was fantastic - Thank you Jacob. Relaxed and elegant. We will be back soon.
The food was tremendous as always especially theSimple Fish which was grouper, my personal favorite. The Wagyu tartare was amazing as were the Wagyu steak and rib. Truly the only thing lacking was the Servis. It took our server over 15 minutes to greet us and discuss the menu! He was very congenial and knowledgeable but a little slow getting around to us!
Our waiter (Don) was outstanding ... when he realized it was taking a little longer than expected to receive our meals, he brought us a little something to tide us over ... while it was a little noisy, we loved it! Food was good ... I had the chicken meal and thought it could have cooked a little longer ... everything was very good. We will definitely come back, when we are in Birmingham again.
We had a party of eight to celebrate my birthday. Everything from the drinks to the appetizers to the entrees and dessert were all delicious. The unique take on "Chicken Fried Steak" was amazing! It was a wonderful experience, and we really appreciated Chef Hastings taking the time to come visit with us at the end of the night. We will be back!

Chef Chris Hasting & team at Hot and Hot always deliver an exceptional experience! Staff are always on point with service, knowledgeable with regard to wine selections & pairings, and attentive without becoming intrusive (a balance many restaurants cannot achieve). Always a top choice on our list of food experiences!
My wife and I always enjoy our trips to Birmingham to eat at Hot and Hot. The food is always wonderful and we really enjoy the exceptional service. We have never had a bad experience with any waiters at Hot and Hot....they are all knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Our last few trips we have had Don as our waiter and he has really gone above and beyond the call of duty to make our trip enjoyable. My wife and I appreciate his helpful attitude, patience with our questions, and knowledge of the dishes we ask about...this really makes for an enjoyable evening.

While most of the time I have been there, the food was great, this time the visit was so-so: there was nothing that I particularly liked on the menu and so I chose appetizers for my meal. The gumbo was OK, but not as good as I can make it. The stuffed quail was excellent. Unfortunately, we were seated not far from a table of extremely loud men and so the noise level was at times unpleasant. The service was outstanding!
Took my daughter out to dinner for her 21st birthday. Everything was excellent from the apps to the dinner. We had a great time and we will be back soon.
Gumbo, stuffed quail and chicken fried steak were great selections. No better dinning in Birmingham.

I really enjoyed the food. The portion sizes were great. I was full, but not overly full.
A great meal. I has a very interesting spin on country fried steak. It 2as a filet cooked to order, sliced into strips with fried chicken skins between the slices, stacked on a bed of collard greens. The novelty of the fried chicken skins kinda waned after a couple of bites, but the steak and the collards were excellent. I also had roasted beet salad and the chocolate souffle. Both were delicious. And Brian took good care of us. Excellent meal.
Food and drinks were delicious. Paul did a great job, even though he also had a large party to tend next to us. We will be back!

First time at Hot and Hot Fish and the night was fantastic. The service was top notch from the waiter to the bartender. The food was truly spectacular for both my wife and myself. We will visit again soon.
My wife and I came her for our 5th anniversary. The food was outstanding and the service was even better. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and a great atmosphere.
The reason for the visit was for an anniversary and the evening did not disappoint. The menu was very unique and offered great flavors, Additionally the service was excellent with great attention to the details. My wife had the trigger fish and I had the pork dish and a shared dessert of the buttermilk mousse.(outstanding)
Delicious food with phenomenal service!
We celebrated our birthdays. One of our children planned a special treat for our dinner. The restaurant staff carried out the secrecy perfectly. It was a special evening. This was our second trip to the restaurant and the food and service is outstanding. We traveled over a hundred miles for the dining experience and will return!
Great fine dinning experience! Food was excellent. Only negative was we had to wait about 30 mins after our reservation time.
Ask during reservation if it was a special occasion and I said yes birthday but nothing happened

Hot and Hot nails everything that is good about Southern ingredients, farm-to-table cuisine, and fine dining. It's all in an energetic environment that completely avoids any sense of pretentiousness, despite maybe being the best restaurant in Birmingham.
You have to eat here!!! It is so amazing and worth every penny! From start (with bread), to finish (with chocolate soufflé), this was one of the best food experiences I have ever had. You won’t regret going here!
Service was great. Salad and Steak tartar were good, as was my grouper. Hubby’s pork trio was undercooked, and my chocolate soufflé was dry, over cooked. Second trip here and hit or miss. They had a sales meeting/party dinner in the room they put us along with another couple. Once the party got going, it got really loud. It’s good, but not my go to for fine dining in Birmingham. $200 w/tip was a little much for the things I nentioned
We were celebrating our 20th anniversary of the day we met. Service was impeccable as always. We’ve been going into hot and hot Fish club for at least 18 years of service and the food is always above par we look forward to seeing the new things to come for in this group. Service is great . Portions are extremely small and the food pricey. I felt gulf spending 111.00 dollars on two people .

People tell me this place is great, and I believe they enjoy the place, but I personally don't get it.
I can say that service is their strong point. Their employees really do a great job of not overly bothering you throughout the meal. Operations did a good job of timing all the food coming out. Good work here. I felt like this was an American version of excellent European service although we felt a little rushed to get out.
People love it, and I don't get it. I prefer Cafe Dupont or Highlands Bar and Grill.
