Meal and service was good. Bea was a friendly server. I felt wine list was over priced. Don't like paying tip % on taxes.
Food was super bland. Server was sarcastic and a bit rude.
Would not go back again for dinner. We were not enjoying so opted not to have coffee etc after our meal.
Great service by “Adam” on this occasion. But we’ve also had great service from “Habib” on many other occasions as well. The fresh Halibut was wonderful. My wife loved the Short-ribs and the ladies loved the deserts. Well done Horizon staff. Great culinary skills and presentation. Darrell & Janice FRICK
Service was great. View is amazing, but food was really over-priced.
It was a surprise for my friends Birthday and the view was amazing, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic.
A tired looking restaurant with cheap cutlery and this is meant to be fine dining? The menu looked appealing enough. The waiter was unkempt with his top button open, his tie askew and din't understand the issue with the canteen style cutlery. The carpet is thread bare and really, this was below par so we wake out without eating. To his credit the waiter asked if we wanted to discuss our opinion with his manager. We didn't - he got the message.
It was a fantastic experience for our first visit to Horizons. We will definitely be back!
Delightful. We wish we could go more often!
Another birthday brunch, another great meal with excellent service. Bennys, traditional breakfast, seafood crepes and the new dish was Huevos Estofados - a spicy tomato-based dish (not hot, more fragrant) of vegetables, chorizo and baked eggs. Well done!
We spent a very pleasant evening, the ambiance was tops, scenery excellent, and service as good as it should be. The waiter was so friendly it made us feel really at home. Our meals were really tasty and called for us to revisit again in the future.
We had an excellent waiter. The girls at the desk were great as well. The view was outstanding of course and we were lucky to get a window table, but the experience was uncomfortable for us as it was too cold in the room. My husband had to wear his outdoor jacket to eat, he's never done that before except for outdoor dining. The meal was good, generous servings and the filet mignon was cooked to our liking, I didn't care for the Demi sauce to be put on the prawns as well as the steak, you do this for steak Oscar with hollandaise sauce but not with a Demi glaze at least I don't care for prawns with Demi glaze.
Over all we had a lovely anniversary dinner, just wished it was warmer. I guess we should have told the waiter, but I didn't think he could do anything about it.
I have come to this restaurant since it first opened, under different names ,as I grew up just below the mountain. I enjoy coming for special occasions but we noticed it was more casual now so we may come again for casual dining.
Outstanding view, service and even better food!
The steaks we ordered were way under expectation. The New York Striploin is overcooked for medium. The Filet Mignon is just not tasting like it's supposed to be, the texture seems not fresh enough, tasted like liver, very weird and the Black Tiger Prawns are tough. Because it is a birthday celebration, we didn't complain much, just thought we would never come back. When the waiter asked how it was . we just said the striploin is not good but not mentioned the filet. He offered my friend to have a new steak but we just said no need. When the main course was finished, the waiter offered us a free dessert to compensate the steak and the raspberry cake tasted really good. So it's sweet and pain for this restaurant. The service is very satisfactory but the most expensive dishes are not worth the money.
This is our place for celebrating special occasions. Our lunch today was top quality - two flat iron steaks and eggs with the BEST chimichurri, the crepes full of seafood and Eggs Benny with lovely Hollandaise sauce. We have found our new brunch cocktail - hello Mangalore! Service is consistently good. Thanks!
Food is over priced for the quantity that you get on your plate.
The Wild Salmon with Risotto is fabulous. Excellent service too. Amazing views all around. Quiet place where you can actually talk to one another and hear the conversation. ❤️
Very good place. Food is comfortable. Not heavy on the stomach.
Good atmosphere and food. I wish there was more selections and the Cesar salad was super under dressed. Service was extremely slow and we were often left wondering if we were forgotten about. There’s other places with a nice view good food and better service. If you’ve never been then check it out but it’s a been there done that kind of place
We love the food here but our dinner was ruined by some very inconsiderate guests who decided to allow their 2 year old to scream constantly. When we asked to be moved because obviously management wasn't going to intervene, they moved us close to the entrance seated under a bright light which ruined the whole ambiance of our nicer window table. The table with the 2 year old proceeded to walk him over to the lounge area right next to us where he continued to scream again. On a Saturday night with a 7:30 reservation, I didn't expect to have this issue. Other couples were also annoyed and quickly paid their bills and left. I have raised 3 children and would never have allowed any of them to carry on and disrupt other guests but mostly I blame Horizons for their lack of ownership. They allowed one table to ruin the evening for several patrons. Disappointing!
The restaurant was lovely but unfortunately the vegetables were undercook. That was not expected in this level of restaurant. We have higher expectations.
Excellent view, great service. Expect to pay ~60$ per person for an entree and dessert not including drinks.
Both food & service needs improvement. However the cleanliness is amazing.
Reserved a table on Valentine's Day.
We had their calamari, salmon on risotto, lobster bisque and creme brulee.
Easy parking and beautiful view.
Hard to top this date night.
I could not fault one thing.
Horizon's Restaurant still had bookings available for dinner a week before Valentine's. I had been before and found it good... but this time, nearly ten years later... The food was AMAZING! The first time I did not have to explain to a chef what a warm blue was... and it was the best steak I have had. My lady really enjoyed the seafood dish she ordered, as well. She is usually a light eater but she polished off the whole meal. The only downfall was it was crowded... we were a little bit close to others that we could hear their conversations and they could most likely hear ours.
For the price of the food I was expecting a lot tastier meal. The portion was small. I feel the food needed a lot more flavor. My lamb was chewy and i requested it medium.to well . It seemed pretty average. Nothing extra special
We have to call server more than three times just for refilling some tap water! Our server tends to ignore our table as we did not order much alcohol compared to adjacent tables. I only ordered a glass of Mojito, which was filled with way too much ice and tasted pretty much like tap ice water. Very disappointed with the service and drink that was offered.
Friendly staff. Lovely view. Delicious well prepared meal.
Just wish prices were a bit lower. Then we would go more often.
We enjoyed an early Valentine’s Day dinner (13th) which was lovely. It was our first visit to the restaurant and before we left we have booked another visit for Mother’s Day!! Looking forward to sharing this amazing restaurant with excellent service and amazing steaks with our family and experiencing brunch. The view is an add bonus and fully enjoyable from any table in the restaurant.... thank you so much
It's all about the spectacular view!.. but a plus when the food and service is good too. We've just started eating vegan so we were happy that there were a few options available. Its amazing how many people we know are moving to a plant based lifestyle and I hope most restaurants recognize and reflect this in their menu choices.
Chef cooked Eggs Benedict to perfection! and the sauce wasn't too much or too little with a nice tangy blend to it.Yummy!
Great food, a very accommodating kitchen and Cody took great care of us.
Worse service. Would have expected better from Horizon... but it was awful. Took waiter 10 min to come to our table to ask for our drink order. Took 40 min for food to come. Waiter never checked in to see how our food was...which was mediocre. I litetally had to put my napkin in my plate to signal to the waiter to take my plate away. Awful. I will skip this place next time. Wont be coming back. Better food and service at the keg.
Dine out Vancouver dinner..we love it.. it’s our 3rd year in a roll done out at this restaurant ..
Especially we had a new born, this restaurant wasn’t too quiet..
We love our meal there, it’s decent size..
We came here for our anniversary brunch and we chose the restaurant for the view and kid friendly environment. I wasn't expecting much for the food but i was pleasantly surprised! DH and DD1 chose the omelette bar. The pastries looked like they were made in-house was so delicious. I had a mexican brunch dish (i cannot remember the name) and my DD2 chose the kid sized french toast. Both were large portions (french toast was very large for kid sized.) We even had a basket of their very flaky and buttery croissants. I would definitely come here again - most likely in the spring time when there are flowers in the park.
Had the “Dine Out” menu for 4. Marked Special Occasion (birthday) when booking through OpenTable but no mention of birthday while there. Felt like the meals came out of a pruduction line line from a cheap Harbour dinner Cruise. Food was just ok but Crème brûlée was great!
Very attentive staff, food came quickly and delicious. Our only complaint, lighting very dim, can’t see our food very well. We sat adjacent larger tables with crying kids. Otherwise no complains.
Recommend. We come here at least once a year, even though it is a 30-40 minute drive each way from our house. As always the food was great and so was the service. A little pricey, but you are paying for the location and view.
I recommend reserving about 15-30 minutes before sunset. Unfortunately it was foggy on our visit, but that's not the restaurant's fault.
We were there for Dine Out 2018. The salad was good pretty but the salmon was pretty plain. The chocolate pretzel dessert was probably the best. Service was great.
It’s my husband’s birthday we had a nice dinner here with families. Great service, Very beautiful view.
Came here for the Dine-Out experience and wasn't disappointed. Everyone was friendly and greeted us with a smile the moment we walk through the doors. We didn't have to wait too long between plates as the next course was brought out promptly. The food was amazing, I especially enjoyed the steak option. It was cooked perfectly. The only thing I found was a bit too much was the biscotti with the creme brule. I don't know about anyone else, but for me - after a 3 course meal (tuna tataki, steak with mashed potatoes, and creme brule), I'm stuffed. I think the creme brule's smooth custard would have paired better with fruits, so that you end off the meal on a lighter note. That's just my opinion, but overall had a wonderful time. Will be back sometime this summer and during the day to take advantage of the view.
