We were at Horizons to celebrate my sister's birthday. The food was great, service excellent, and my sister was made to feel very special. The view is spectacular...highly recommend people bring visitors from out of town to experience the beauty of our city.
The quality of food was very disappointing, especially the steak. I wouldn’t recommend ordering that. The service was also quite poor, the server only came to our table a few times. We weren’t asked if we wanted a second drink, we weren’t asked how our food was until we were about 2 bites from being done, and we were rushed through every course of our meal. It was a disappointing experience.
Enjoyed our meal , duck and salmon featured on dine out special. Excellent waiter, very attentive and professional. Our water was filled continuously without having to ask. The fog coming in out allowed for lovely vistas. Recommended to my son and girlfriend and they went next evening with similiar happy dining experiencd
I like dining at the Horizon normally, However, probably because of the Dine out Vancouver event on Friday evening (Jan 24, 2020), the restaurant is 85% full. The food was not satisfactory, just like serving fast food. Salad was messy place on a small dish. The duck breast that I ordered, was salty and the sauce was watery. the side veg was potato wedge and bok choy, the Honey Vanilla Creme Brule was very very and actually too sweet that I cannot finish.
This was an amazing first dine-out experience and first visit to Horizons
Dine Out Vancouver
The service is good and staff is friendly but the quality of food is not good. Unfortunately this restaurants is dated and needs a re-invention. Won’t be going back unless there are big changes.
Celebrated birthday during Dine Out
salmon charred around the edges and too well done, short rib overcooked
The view is great. But the place inside needs to renovate a bit. Dining table and chairs are not neatly clean.
Dinner was generally disappointing, my Pacific Cioppino seemed to have more potatoes and veggies than seafood. Dinner was overpriced for the value.
Very good as always.
The restaurant and view are beautiful. The menu very limited and expensive but the food quality did not reflect the price. Service was very friendly!
The view is spectacular, the service was fantastic as well. We were there on Sunday December 22nd. I was surprised to learn that we had the last reservation of the evening at (7 pm. I found that really early for the holiday season regardless of being a Sunday. The staff made us feel totally comfortable and welcome despite us being the last table to leave at 9:15 pm.
Had a wonderful evening for my mom’s birthday! Our service was excellent and so was the food! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
If you want great views, this place is awesome! But don’t go in search to a culinary adventure. Food was ok... some better than others (maple salmon was fantastic, lobster bisque watery) but as a celebration for my elderly mom, it was great! And not loud!
Service poor, young inexperienced staff. No smiles, not come around to see if everything was alright. Food took 1 hour to come out from time we sat down!!!!!
Very overpriced for what we received.
We had a group of six ladies celebrating birthdays, four of us ordered the lobster bisque it came to the table barely lukewarm, the server apologized and brought us fresh hot lobster bisque, it was not your typical lobster bisque, it had quite a smokey flavour and there was no lobster in my bowl. Four of us ordered the New York steak and the steak was amazing , two order salmon with prawns and they were pleased. We enjoyed creme brulee and coconut panna cotta for dessert both were lovely. The service was average to good but we didn't remember it being so pricey. It helped to have entertainment coupons. We would probably go back to again, because we love the location and the view.
We were warned that the plates were hot, but they were not, and more importantly the food also was only luke warm. The menu indicated a baked potato with the steak, but it came as mashed potatoes. They were very tasty, but spread in an artful layer 1/4" thin over the entire plate, and therefore quite cool. Our table was in a very very dark corner. All a little disappointing at $36 a plate.
The weather did not cooperate, vis a vis "the view" (which is wonderful from this venue) but our meal and service was good. Quiet ambiance for a reunion even though the restaurant was quite full (Sunday brunch). Our server, regrettably I can't recall her name, was exceptional - truly engaging with the guests, knowledgeable on the menu and very attentive throughout our stay. (She indicated that she had only been working there for about 5 weeks but honestly, her capabilities in interacting & providing service were second to none - that which could be expected from a seasoned & tenured server... Kudos to her).
There were 4 tables full in the entire restaurant, 3 servers and we were constantly having to call someone over for water, coffee, to order, for our bill, for the credit card machine. The food was just ok.... I highly doubt I will go back or recommend to others.
Delicious food with a great view. Try and get up there on a clear night so you can see all the Vancouver lights below. Service was fantastic. Portions were medium, but very tastey. The atmosphere was very pleasant and not very noisy at all. Great for special occasions for sure. Highly reccomended.
We went there for our anniversary and it was a great meal and dessert and complimentary champagne. Everything came at a timely manner. Will definitely recommend.
This was a birthday lunch in the afternoon with five people . Four had the seafood crepes which were great but a little too many roast potatoes. One had the burger and rated it one of the best he has had. Great view and great afternoon.
Although the restaurant was only 1/2 full we were seated at the worst table, right by the front door. I find often when booking online you get a poor location. Asked to be moved but the second table was not much better. Food was average at best, steak was tough and cioppino bland and over cooked. Several wines on their list were not available. It’s too bad as it’s a beautiful location.
Was a great evening. Had a drunk young customer mistake our table for his but that just added to the night!!
Service was slow and our meals were cold and average. My seafood crepe was mostly peppers and a few pieces of salmon. My friends breakfast had burnt toast. They really need to step up a notch
Good experience. We had our toddler in tow so we were happy to be served well. Good quantities. Salmon was nice
Always been a pleasure dining with Horizon. Habib the server was very attentive and knew his ins and outs on the menu. My family would definitely recommend this to friends and family.
Adam the waiter was amazing
Wonderful place to spectacular views and sunsets and to celebrate special occasions like an anniversary.
So I went to the website, made the reservation, but when we arrived at the restaurant it was closed.
Nice view, good food! Was a good time! We also had the best waitress!
Service was very good by the waiter, Host needs to review the restaurant to better pick good tables particularly when it was almost empty. There is no need to group all your patrons into one corner. Let them have their private conversations without being in earshot of each other! Spread them out a little more. Just for your future experience of being a host or hostess. It's not about your staff's convenience it's about your costumers experience. All in all it's still one of the top 5 restaurants in Burnaby
The service was so great!
Would definitely recommend!
Great food. Good service. Nice views. Minor thing but they didn’t have little touches like tablecloths. If you’re charging $200 for three people, you’d expect those kinds of details.
A great night. Not too busy and a beautiful sunset.
Very polite and very good service. The staff are timely and efficient. You get a good value and good portions for what you order, considering the price. S/O got the maple salmon with prawns, would have liked to see more than just 2 prawns for the price though. Good selection for dessert and sometimes have a "share platter" where you can taste 3 desserts.
My nieces birthday. Everything was lovely. The person that had the ciopinno, said it wasn’t great. The chocolate mouse cake was amazing. Service perfect.
Beautiful view, pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff! An all around great experience!
