This was a restaurant I liked dining at, and did so every time we were in Amelia Island. This past visit really changed my attitude about this place. The food is fabulous, and this visit started out great. But as I was going through my Seared Tuna i noticed a part of the fish that was perfectly square. My first impression was it was skin and I proceeded to remove it with my fork. As I examined it close up, I realized it was part of the packing that was used in packing the fish. I. Called the waitress over and asked her what it was. She gave me a look and had me place it on the butter plate nd indicated she would have the chef examine it. A few minutes passed and she returned to explain the chef apologized and it was just a piece of skin. I accepted this response and will not return again. I cannot tolerate a lie when it comes to my food preparation. The place was not real busy and the chef should of had time to see this packing material when preparing my meal. I was really disappointed.

Food was not hot. They use hot plates to reheat the food. It didn’t work. It is definitely a local restaurant based on diners.

Horizons is hidden in a strip mall, but is well worth seeking out. We couldn't decide between potato crusted grouper and diver scallops so the kitchen split these two gems for us. Best grouper ever - moist and no fishy taste. We also had them split bourbon pecan pie and key lime pie - awesome. Reasonably prices ($24 entree and $6 glass of yummy wine). Waitstaff is most accommodating 👍🏼

Food and Service were very good. Great neighborhood place even though a little hard to find. Agit strange that at 7pm we ended up eating in the dining room alone, no other tables were full, and this was a Friday night. But as I said, food was excellent.

Nice every day local restaurant. Nothing fancy but everything was adequate . A bit hard to find as it is tucked behind storefronts and not on the main drag.

Service was good and attentive without hovering. Food was outstanding. Both of us agreed that it was the best we had had so far. Very few customers. We were alone in the dining room. The waitress said it was an off time for them.

Two recent dinners at Horizons have been hits with two terrific fish dishes, cheerful willingness to split a salad for us, and wrapped the desert to take home. We'll be back!

The live music was wonderful as was the service. The food was mediocre. Very rich, several dishes had a similar flavor. Mushy vegetables, scallops were floating in sauce.

The service was amazing. Tony was our sever and was the best we have had all week. The food was great and again the best we had in Amelia Island. If you are looking for something a little more upscale with great food, check this place out. Would definitely go back!

We noticed there were not many cars in the parking lot when we arrived, but we decided to give it a try. The waitress was punctual and extremely nice. The food was below average and the restaurant was hot to the point of being uncomfortable. I would not recommend this restaurant.

There was no one in the place - and for good reason. It was the ugliest frittati we have every seen. The hollandaise was tasteless and the home fries were cold.

The staff and food were amazing. They couldn't have been nicer and the gazpacho with lump crabmeat was outstanding! It's the first time we've been there and would like to go back for Sunday brunch. I know they have music there but there was not a band playing when we were there. I would go back for the food and excellent staff!

Horizons is our favorite place on the Island. We enjoy going alone for just the two of us, very relaxing. And they are also very kid friendly when we take the entire family. They go out of their way to accommodate our picky grandchildren 's meal.
I highly recommend Horizons! Good food, good people!

The food at Horizons was so fresh! It is one of the best restaurants on the island. I came to this restaurant on my second day of vacation and it was so good that I came here again. I ordered steak with pasta and my steak was so flavorful! The second time I came here I ordered the country side steak with carrots and mashed potatoes which was the best steak that I have ever tried. My dad got the special which happened to be a snapper. The fish was so delicious and moist. My mom got their house salad which was also very fresh. The restaurant is in a nice location and the service is really good. Horizons is very good for families with kids. Their dessert is also great; I had salted caramel gelato with a brownie and the second time I came here I had a soufflé which was also very good. The price was also very reasonable. I highly recommend going to Horizons!

Horizons never disappoints. There are always interesting specials, but there are plenty of enticing options on the regular menu as well. The wine list includes some very good selections at very reasonable prices. And the souffle for dessert is a must have!

I'm really surprised by how high this restaurant was rated on average. We had a party of 7 and I want to say that our server was absolutely great. She had all our orders correct, was informative and friendly. That's truly the only good thing I can say. For dinner at 8 on a Saturday night, there were only 2 other tables with guest in the entire restaurant. It was super quite and awkward. It's a large space and of course they sit us right next to another table. The food was average at best. We were also disappointed to learn they do not serve liquor beverages, only beer and wine. We seriously felt like we were on the set of a reality show and that maybe there were cameras somewhere. But it really felt more like the place was about to close for good. Very disappointed in the total experience and I would not recommend this restaurant. Sorry to say that knowing our server was so great.

This was our first time to the restaurant. We were disappointed with one of our meals. My husband ordered a special - veal piccata with scallops. The veal was tough..couldn't even cut it with a steak knife. The server offered to get additional slices of veal but my husband declined. Secondly, they had a jazz ensemble playing that evening so they asked if we wanted to be seated in the room where they play. Although our reservation was almost an hour earlier than their start we sat there. We were very surprised when the check arrived and their was a $15 cover charge pp that we were not told about. The highlight was our server. She was awesome..,attentive, informative, friendly. Too bad that isn't how we felt about the entire evening

We have been to Horizons several times. The last time we dined at Horizons (with a friend) it was a disappointment. Our guest ordered salmon and when it arrived it was raw in the center, the waitress said that some salmon from Alaska looks raw when it is cooked -----really?? They did cook the salmon more and it looked cooked and tasted good. My seafood dish was supposed to have fish, scallops, shrimp but it only had what looked like left over fish, no scallops or shrimp. I think this was an off night but I would have preferred a more direct approach like telling me they no longer had shrimp or scallops in the dish and certainly not tell someone that some Alaskan salmon looks raw when it is cooked. I cook salmon from Alaska (I get it shipped to me) all the time and there is not a salmon that looks and taste raw when it is cooked the answer was insulting

Being new to Amelia Island, we felt we needed to try the local restaurants and so we made reservations for our anniversary. We found the atmosphere to be casual but upscale and we were greeted immediately. Our server was friendly and helpful, but most of all provided great service...just enough attention. We chose wine from a fine selection and ordered appetizers, entrees and later coffees and desserts.
The food was wonderful. The lobster bisque and horizon salad were spot on...flavorful and delightful. Our entrees were both fish. The Mahi-Mahi was amazing and my husband's fish looked just as lovely. I had the coconut cake for dessert....which was as wonderful as could be. My husband's tiramisu was equally as delicious. As good as the food was however, the asparagus and carrots served with the entrees were cold. That is a small point though in an otherwise stellar dinner.
We will be going back again as the food, friendly service and casual dining atmosphere combine for a lovely, relaxing dining experience.
