Lunch: $9 to $19
Dinner:$17 to $50
It was a busy Saturday night, so you'll have to take this with a grain of salt if you also planning on going on a Saturday night. We waited over an hour (after ordering) for our food. We were a party of 4 women, who didn't order anything adjusted or off the menu, just 4 people, 4 entrees. The food was very good, and the staff were polite, just slow.
Daniel did a good job to entertain us. He has great sense of humor which is is very important when serving guests.
We were very pleased with the service and quality of the food
Took my boss out for birthday lunch and I asked server to sing for him, this was our third years going here. This time, they did not, maybe they forgot about it or too busy. It looks like they were short staff. Food took a long time but good.
We revisited Horatio's. Last month we had the worst time ever at Horatio's. This time we had the same waitress and she seemed better that last month. She was still a little on the slow side. We ordered our drinks and our food. We waited about 15 minutes for her to bring the drinks (iced tea and a coke). These are not mixed drinks from the bar, I would expect to wait for bar drinks. The bread came out then the salad I ordered. The food came out with things not ordered on the plates. The right food came out a few minutes later. Last month when we came our waitress only added 30 points to my RU account ( I spent over $100). Usually I receive 80 or more points when I go to Horatio's. I hate to look how many points I didn't receive this time. I rank Horatio's up there with a fast food restaurant (that isn't fast).
As usual, Horatio's was outstanding. Great food selections and terrific service. Makes me proud to take my friends and family there.
Had reservations and arrived early. Asked for a window table. Was told none available right now. One should open up soon. During the time waiting, two opened up. When asked again, my guest said that's OK this table is alright. We were served soup but had to ask for a spoon.
Great views of the marina and sunset! Wonderful service and excellent food!
The food at this classic East Bay restaurant continues to be outstanding! We each had the salmon, the steelhead and the seafood pasta. All were flavorful, plentiful and delicious!
We all enjoyed the food, wait staff and ambiance. Can’t wait to go back
It was my mother’s 85 birthday and our experience was absolutely fabulous! The food was amazing and the service was great.
Very good food but cocktails are very weak and way over priced. I would recommend to order beer or hard alcohol straight up, no mixed drinks.
Crab & artichoke dip was oily, field green Pt. Reyes blue cheese salad was not great but filet was very good.
The restaurant needs a major refresh it is very tired, looks old. Probably will not be back.
Building has some old charm, though it needs some work to refresh. Right on the marina, with big windows that provide an excellent view. In fact the view is the only reason to come. Food is mediocre at best. Portions are huge (quantity, not quality) and underwhelming. Also the bathroom had no hot water in any of the sinks.
We celebrated a friend’s birthday and ordered the fried calamari and spinach dip, which were absolutely amazing. My guests enjoyed the appetizers and practically cleaned up the plates. I had the Seafood Louie and it was delicious! The salmon was cooked to perfection, the shrimps were large, and the bits of crab meat were so good! I plan to order this Seafood Louie again. The garlic bread as a house compliment is something you cannot get enough of. Finally, we had the Key Lime Pie and the key lime was not overbearing and sour. It was just right. For a complimentary birthday dessert, we also had the Creme Brûlée, which was equally amazing and melts in your mouth. Our meal, the view, and ambience all add to a spectacular celebration on New Year’s Day!
Lobster tails were delicious!!!
Went at 7:00 pm New Year’s Eve. We knew would be busy. Dining room was very noisy. We had to wait awhile for our server. Bar drinks came quickly. Appetizers were excellent. My wife ordered prime rib medium rare. She received an uncooked piece of meat that was almost impossible to cut. We sent back and received a perfectly cooked piece. The difference was night and day. Waiter was very apologetic and told us that particular prime rib was bad since other dinners had sent theirs back. I had salmon that was slightly undercooked and cold when I received. Tasted good. Usually the food is very good. My opinion is due to being so busy on a Holliday our entree’s were rushed an undercooked and still were delivered cold. In the future we will avoid dining here on a Holliday.
we have had very good experiences in the past. For New Years eve we went early, were seated in the bar not the restaurant. by the server station by door to the outside patio so every time door opened cold air came in. The Prime Rib was very dry and tough not our usual experience. Would need to think if I wanted to go again. We have been there six or seven times in the past. The restaurant did not appear to be that busy and we had made reservations several weeks
Nice resturant with a scenic view of the water. The food was delicious and well cooked. The seating took longer than expectated even with reservations, and the floor of our table was dirty and had to be vacuumed.
Nice ambience. Fun with a date, family friends. A little busy so service seemed a little slow. Will go back!
Sadly, this restaurant disappointed everyone in our party ~ 7 of us. We were celebrating an very special birthday and no one went away satisfied. Silverware was dirty, lipstick on our water glasses, we order water, soda & iced tea ~ all of which took a long time to get to us. No sugar on the table for the ice tea drinker, she had to wait for that. Overall, very unsatisfactory and overpriced for a restaurant that once was a nice place to eat and celebrate the moments of our lives.
Won’t be returning.
I ate food and so did girlfriend. We eat food tasty. Server man very nice and help much. Friendly and perfect. Please here eat thank you.
Outstanding menu with large tasty portions. Great place for special occasions. Just one quick note, during holidays you might find that they will be short of help, so service can be slower, but the atmosphere, ambiance and is worth it.
They were out of all the Merlot’s I asked for
Also all the signs warning about your car getting ripped off is a bit unsettling,
It was Christmas so I guess the kitchen closed early, but they forgot to mention this to us so we couldn’t even order dessert. The food was cold as well. It’s obvious the kitchen was in a hurry to close. That’s fine except we’re paying a premium for this?! At least give a discount for the subpar service, or just stay closed if everyone is that eager to get out of there and go home. I’m sorry to say that we’ll not be returning here during holidays!!
What really brought this place down for me was the service. We were barely greeted when we walked in and told incorrect information about when our table would be ready. Our waitress was basically going through the motions and did very little to really assist us with anything. She also never refilled (or asked if we'd like refills) the entire time. If it hadn't been a holiday I probably wouldn't have given her a real tip. It was that disappointing unfortunately. In terms of the food, the oysters were a complete waste of money but everything else we ordered was amazing. I had the seafood fettuccine and my boyfriend had the lobster tails. I'd probably recommend skipping the lavender martini because I've had better but no major complaints. Overall I'm glad we went here on Christmas and I would definitely go again, most likely for lunch on a weekend though so we can take in more of the waterfront view.
I'm glad you asked. The food was wonderful, like it always is. But best of all was our server. She made our meal a truly enjoyable event. Everyone at our table was impressed! We'll be back....
Went for dinner at Christmas. They were out of everything (Prime Rib & Sirleon Steak). Food was cold. Worst experience ever. Our prior experiences were NEVER like this. Hopefully when we return it’s back to their original standards.
Although the food was delicious, a few things made it not worth visiting again especially for the price point. 1) The very cold draft that comes in constantly from the entrance every time the door was opened made our food cold. If tables are going to be near the archway and have access to this cold air, some heavy linens need to be placed there that can be closed when it’s cold and opened during the warm months. 2) The waiters and waitresses need a bit more training. I saw one waitress sitting with friends off and on while she was working & our waitress wasn’t the most attentive to our needs- I had to ask for things (I.e. I asked for bread which should come right after being seated) that at a fine dining establishment should be noticed and handled.
The flavor on the coho salmon was just okay. Brussels sprouts were again nothing special. The crab artichoke dip fantastic as always
I would recommend Horatio's. The food was excellent, the staff was friendly, empathetic, and accommodating. Horatio's was a perfect choice to eat and celebrate Christmas.
Christmas father and son dinner. Extremely noisy and unpleasant for conversation. Placed near a door that led to a covered porch. Each time servers or diners passed through the door an icy blast of air entered the restaurant.
Service was better than good, but seemed disorganized.
Sirloin steak and chicken Dijon entrees were both very good. Melted Bree starter was very nice.
I like Horatio's for special occasions however was very disappointed in my request to be seated in Chad's area being totally ignored. I have to say the women at the desk who I believe was management (Christmas Day at 5:30) was very rude to not only us but to a couple of women who also wanted to be seated in Chad's area. I put the request in when I made the reservation, I called several times to get placed In Chad's area and when I received a call to verify we were still coming I again asked to make sure we were placed in Chad's area. The "manager" when told by the person who seated us that we were very unhappy with not being seated in Chad's area just shrugged her shoulders and said too bad. It was extremely bad customer service and you might want to remove her or I am sure you will lose customers. Considering that each time we come we spend at least 4 to 6 hundred dollars I do not think it is unreasonable on our part to have an request for seating to be done.
Christmas dinner at Horatio‘s never disappoints.
Steak had to be returned to cook properly. Had to wait while rest of part ate.
High quality of cooking, food preparation. Very enjoyable. Vegetable choices were excellent.
We enjoyed everything about our experience! We wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend. We plan to return soon!
Christmas Day- family from Colorado visiting. Had a wonderful time. No push for the table even though we stayed a long time. Drinks were very good.
As usual the food was good. The service however was not so good. During this busy times our server was very inefficient. Upon waiting a long time after being seated she came by twice promising bread but to no avail. Then waiting even longer, she came by and took our drink order. By this time we were all ready to order as well but she didn't even ask. Only took our drink order then had to we had to wait even longer time to take our order. I realize it was a busy night, but this is why management should have those who are capable of handling. We ended up being there over 3 hours which I felt was way longer than usual. We come to Horatio not only for the good food but usually have good efficient service as well. This night the service was poor.
Chad is a great server. We dined on Christmas Eve so service was slow to be expected. We got a good table location in the main dining room as requested. Prices above average.
