Lunch: $9 to $19
Dinner:$17 to $50
Excellent customer service. There Food was great, the whole place was very clean and calm environment
The view by the window was very nice. Food was fine, just had a cobb salad. But the noise in the restaurant is difficult for me since I wear hearing aids and sometimes it gets loud with large parties or babies crying.
It is a good place to meet friends who live in different areas of the east bay.
I have been to this restaurant many times. This trip I tried the lunch special Coho Salmon served with gnocchi. It was absolutely delicious! Service was excellent. A little pricey for lunch but the food was good.
We have been dining at Horatio's for over 30 years. It is our go to restaurant for all our birthdays, anniversaries and other special dates. The food is always great.
We have personally known all the managers that have worked here over the years and most of the wait staff. If one of the servers we know is not assigned to our table, if they see us, they make a special effort to stop by and say hello.
Have been going here for over 40 years- every anniversary, birthday, special occasion was celebrated here
Had dinner tonight with 2 friends and dinner was terrible. I had chicken Dijon which I always pick and spinach tasted like it was from a can plus chicken was so dried out I could not eat and the delicious sauce that use to be on top was not on plate and some kind of dip was served in bowl
My husband had scallops but they were old and not tasty
Other friend had ahi tuna which he ate but later told us he did not like
To top it off My favorite Maytag salad was no longer on menu and replaced with soggy lettuce and some new kind of cheese with no taste
Sorry to say we will find another favorite restaurant. Will not be back here again!!!
Also carpet is filthy dirty and whole place needs a facelift
Excellent service and food!!!!!!!
Food, service, ambiance were all great. So why only 4 stars? While we were in the restaurant several cars, including ours, had windows broken. We had nothing visible in the car and the only thing that they stole from the trunk was our earthquake preparedness kit. Beware if you leave your car here. Maybe better to leave it unlocked or take a Lyft/Uber.
I've been here 12-15 times always good service and food is consistently good, blue cheese martini's are excellent!
Need too replace the carpet. Filthy, old and worn.!
Horatio's is a beautiful place on the water at the San Leandro Marina with really good food, but it is quite pricey and a rare place for us to visit because of that.
The chicken Dijon is a family favorite and done well. The chilequiles were outstanding as the server described and recommended. It was perfect brunch for our group of 8 and it was not busy at all. We will be going back.
Overall, it was a great experience but our Table was not ready and we had to wait !
Celebrated my husband's b-day, good food and service. Neighbor table got loud off and on. Will request a corner table next time. Thank you for making our evening special.
First I obviously had a reservation via OpenTable and said that upon checking in. I was instructed to sit in lounge. I said it again I have a reservation and want to be seated in dining room. First person told me he had to check to see if there were tables available. After waiting 5 minutes another person said there was a table and directed us to a small table in the back corner of the restaurant I didn’t know exists. It wasn’t busy and many tables in the main part of restaurant were available. I was not happy and left. This restaurant is old and run down. Floor is disgusting, chairs torn and service is poor. We tend to ONLY go during a quick happy hour or if there’s a special because it’s close to home, however after this experience we won’t be back!!
Great place for Lunch or Dinner. Our waiter was cheerful and happy to help with anything on the menu.
We had the Horatio's Tasting sampler, which is Great and you must try it. I had the Wild Mushroom Ravioli with Braised short ribs over fresh spinach and in a garlic cream sauce. WOW! was that great.
Three people under $300 for food, drinks and tip. Looking forward to my next visit.
Seating was immediately available. Drink service was prompt (Tennessee mule and Jordan). Appetizeres were delivered quickly and were very good. Ran out of Ahi but steak was very good. Would certainly return. Parking was easily available.
THE FOOD WAS GOOD. NOT AS HOT AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED IT TO BE COMING FROM THE KITCHEN. OUR SERVER WAS REALLY NICE BUT THERE WERE LONG WAITS IN BETWEEN GETTING OUR CHECK AND DESSERT TO GO.
My husband and I totally enjoyed our dinneras its been a few years since we last dined there. The food was excellent and our server was beyond awesome. He was engaging and he listened to my husband's questions without seeming to be in a hurry. He even surprised us with a small dessert wishing me a happy birthday tgat I didn't request. AWESOME
Our food came cold for each meal we got. Very disappointed to get a calm chowder that was cold and fish dishes. Our meal was over $200 dollars and we tipped on top. I rather would have gone somewhere else.
Great food, great service, great location.
Chef made a special request and brought it out himself. We went in before dinner rush. Everything was perfect. Couldn’t have asked for anything better.
😃😃😃😃Dinner was very good service was excellent thank you Jasmine
Forgot her name but our waitress was outstanding to go along with the food. A +.
Wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner with close friends. Shared yearly for past several years.
I was seated at a large window with a beautiful view of the Bay, got my table promptly and was treated nicely and courteously by a waitress who seem a bit busy but most occasionally attentive. My food was tasty and drink great. I enjoyed my dinner in a quiet but romantic night Valentine’s Day ambience! I would return again!
I went here for Valentine's day and had the filet mignon and it was super tender and tasty.
Had a great Valentine's Day experience here. Beautiful harborview at sunset, excellent food and outstanding service. Plus they had their normal menu and not an overpriced holiday one!
Valentine’s Day Dinner the food we had was very delicious; admisphere was wonderful; our server was most pleasant. The noise level was also very nice.
We were seated quickly at a nice table. Quick and friendly service. The food and drinks were very good.
The best choice we could have made for Valentine's Day lunch!
Our food was fantastic and the service was great. Our server was attentive and well versed on the menu. She was able to point me towards a delicious gluten-free meal and never seemed bothered by my 20 questions to make sure I was getting a safe and GF meal. Thank you for making it easy to safely eat out.
I can't give this review 5 stars because the carpets are so filthy. It's all I can focus on. We came here at the end of last summer to celebrate a birthday and we were really bothered by the deferred maintenance. We made comments about it to ourselves. This time we brought friends with us and it was downright embarrassing that the 1st thing they noticed when walking in was the filthy carpets. It's hard to trust that the food will be good or that the kitchen cares about cleanliness when the carpets in some places are at least an inch deep in black crud.
Great food, service and value! It was a particularly cold evening and the draft from the windows was very noticeable. My wife and I were actually very cold so we cut our dinner short. I would love to see them put in new windows. But overall I love Horatios and will definitely be back!
Came in from Pennsylvania for a job interview. We stayed at The Marina inn right next door. Went for lunch with the new potential employer and liked it so much we went for dinner. Waiter was great and so was the food. Pretty sad that we live so far away cause I'd love to go back!
Pricey; not particularly well run. Would expect the greet staff to be dressed up a bit.
Fish special was great. Poke bowl was completely bland and had very little poke....disappointing.
Old standby. Unfortunately, all the food is fairly heavy; they would do well to add some lighter, simpler fish and meat dishes. The bread pudding was a bit too dry. Service was very good, but the place was not crowded.
Been visiting Horatios and Kincaids for 25+ years...delicious menu options
if you can't decide on a dish, get the seafood special or the safe, yet delicious oven baked chicken dijon!
When I come into a place and see a carpet which hasn't been changed in years -and is filthy- I really wonder how clean the kitchen is. Food, mediocre at best, super expensive, so why would I go back? Service? Excellent, the server was attentive, courteous and just what you'd expect no matter where you go. Ultimately, we go to a restaurant for a great dining experience. Horatio's? Doesn't even meet the minimum in terms of decor, cost and quality of food. Truly disappointing. But who would listen to me? The place was packed so I guess others don't have the same standards that I do.
The food was excellent, the restaurant is a must go to location, however the timing of table service, delivery of drinks, food, etc seemed a little out of sync. Overall we loved our experience and will go again....sooner than later.
I expected more. When I spend $120 on dinner I expect to have a top tier experience. What I got was not much better than a trip to Applebees.
I told my server I could not eat dairy and asked for his assistance. I ordered the sole with a calamari appetizer. While I was eating my calamari my server came back to tell me that the sole was breaded with buttermilk so I was forced to order the salmon as it was the ONLY thing on the menu that I could eat. Halfway through my calamari it occurred to me that my squid may be battered in buttermilk too. Turns out they were. Wish I eouldve known before I ate them.
My salmon came. The sides apparently contained dairy because I was brought plain rice and unseasoned grilled asparagus instead of the potatoes and carrots I was expecting. It was thoroughly uninspiring.
To summarize, I couldn't eat my $20 appetizer and my $30 dinner was just plain boring. My server needed a better knowledge of the menu and the menu could use more flexibility.
