Only 3 scallops for a dinner entree is really an appetizer . Should have been warned. Potatoes were tasteless baby mush. Sushi very good as always.
Very loud. Had to sit in the aisle basically.. Table way too small for 4 people. Sushi fell apart immediately. Would not hold together long enough to get it to your mouth. Meanwhile another waiter was showing huge, whole fish to other tables. When did you decide what kind of fish you were going to eat based what it looks like when it’s swimming?? Do they bring in freshly killed cows and chickens too?🙄. Thought that was totally unnecessary.
The food is amazing, server was great. I put a credit card down to hold my reservation. They gave our table away, they said they called me...I left my phone home charging. Our pickup service made extra stops which made us late for our reservation (18 minutes). The hostesses were not friendly or helpful. We insisted on staying. We were seated at a table in a 1/2 hour.
We had the best experience. Our waiter Domenico was amazing and the whole fish experience was so yummy! Hats off to the chef. Definitely recommended if you are at beaver creek...... can be pricey but worth the experience
We'll prepared food with fresh ingredients and inventive recipes. Loved it!
10/10 great sushi
They have a seating problem, and will keep you out in the cold. Once in and past that rudeness it is a very good restaurant
Hooked team is great, thanks Ann for always making us laugh.
Amazing dinner! Gorgeous fish, fresh and wonderful preparations.
Very cool experience. Fish was great!
We love this restaurant, great food and service
The food was good but our table was awful. Our table was butted up (pun intended) against a guy sitting at the bar.
Brendan our bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations on the menu. Absolutely will return. (We went there three times this past two weeks!!!)
We always go to Hooked when we are in town. The fish is fresh and the various preparations are mouth watering delicious! The service was outstanding - friendly and well paced.
I gave a 2 star rating because out of the five people dining, 2 had a great meal and 3 were very disappointed. The two that shared the whole fish experience were very happy with their food and the experience. Expensive, but we expected that. Two of the our group ordered fish and chose our method of cooking. The miso glaze was not very tasty- too salty and just not good. The Szechuan was pretty good. The biggest complaint with these two dishes is that they came with nothing- just a piece of fish on a plate. The server didn't suggest sides or let us know that we needed to order sides additionally. Most restaurants have at least a little something with the fish/meat on the plate. And for $30 for a very small piece of fish with nothing else seems a little exorbitant, even for Beaver Creek. We certainly wouldn't have minded ordering sides if we had known in advance. The fifth diner had fish & chips- fish was a bit greasier than expected and the fries were lukewarm at best. Our server was very nice and attentive, especially with the two who shared the whole fish dinner. She definitely dropped the ball on the rest of our party. We ordered an appetizer and that came first. About 10-15 minutes later there were several dishes brought to the whole fish eaters. The rest of us sat and watched them eat for a good 15 minutes before any of our food was brought out. The restaurant was highly recommended by a friend and we were very disappointed in the whole experience. I would only recommend this place if your whole party was planning on ordering the whole fish.
Everything from the wait staff to the food was above and beyond! The FRESH fish prepared both sashimi and cooked was absolutely amazing. This was a birthday celebration but we’ll be back every time we visit Beaver Creek.
Really bad actitud of the service. Firstable, the restaurant was empty but when I ask for a high table for my little daughter they told me that they will check if they have one available because I didn’t put that request in the reservation.
Then when they brought at 2:57 pm the last sushi roll, that was great, at 3:03 we requested the waiter to repeat it because it was really goof but he said that they open the kitchen until 3pm, what sounds to hard for these case, because they took long time to bring the first order and there was just 3 minutes later.
The food was great.
Mediocre food. I was excited to try the fish prepared in a special sauce. It was tasteless and boring. The oysters in the half shell were great. Service was really bad.
Just Terrible!! The service at this place is the worst I have ever experienced. The hostess (who is the manager) is rude and clueless. The tables at this place are on top of each other and the service is SLOW!!!! The server spilled soy sauce all over me which was a nice bonus. When I tried to express my dissatisfaction to the manager, I was offered nothing but excuses, and the manager really wasn’t interested that my family’s experience was horrible. By the way they offered to pay to have my clothes cleaned, but I would rather have just not paid for the meal and went on our way. You have been warned!! STAY AWAY!!!!
Great spot in BC especially if you have eaten all the game and red meat you can stand.
Try the whole fish experience.... and as very cool. Blake was a great server. Always a great meal.
Loved the rolls and we split a whole fish, everything was really good.
Coconut shrimp was delicious, server was friendly and drinks hit the spot.
Service was great and food was delicious. I had the scallops and shrimp nachos. great place in Beaver Creek Village.
Learned an expensive lesson. Unfortunately we were seated next to a drunk and obnoxious group of three couples who flagged their friends in to scream, yell and cackle. It made it impossible to have a conversation with our server. We could not hear anything she told us about the whole fish experience which I understand what Hooked is known for. We ended up selecting other dishes which unfortunately were quite unremarkable and ultimately very expensive. We will not be back.
Service was great and very friendly. I ordered fish with Miso glaze and it was good, but the Miso a little heavy for my taste, I prefer more of a light glaze. The Lobster tail appetizer and the sweet potato fries were fantastic.
I have mixed opinions about Hooked. The food is excellent and the fish is very fresh. I especially enjoy the sushi. I have dined here several times and always thought the food and preparation were top notch. The service and atmosphere are unnecessarily pretentious. The staff appears to have been trained to up-sell patrons, and especially push the (larger than is necessary) whole fish. On multiple occasions, they have been "out" of my selected wine and recommend a higher-priced bottle. I asked for the WiFi code and was told that I had to like them on Facebook to gain access to the "free" WiFi. This does not sit well with me when I spend $300 on dinner. Like most things at Beaver Creek, Hooked is expensive and the value is about the norm for the resort.
Hooked is one of our favorites in Beavercreek! We come here whenever we are in town. The food is amazing, fresh and always tasty! Even our children love it. Thankful they expanded.
We are long time supporters of Hooked as part-time residents of the area. They did a great job with their remodeling, keeping the ambience of the restaurant we have come to love while expanding their space. One thing that I must mention is the new bar that they installed. It is a beautiful bar, but the problem that we encountered when we were there was because of the stools that provide seating at the bar. Our table was next to the bar and as individuals sitting in a table height chair our eye level was in line with the "cracks" of most of the bar patrons! Needless to say this was not very appetizing! OOPS
Needs a better hostess, had an unpleasant experience getting seated. There were just two of us, they had 3 tables for two people open, I ask for a table not near the door, the hostess was less than accommodating.
Very fun experience! Love the way they cook the whole fish, very creative!
I always recommend Hooked to everyone. Love the staff, the food, the drinks. Service can get a little slow but I typically write on my laptop while I'm there so I don't mind it much. Sit at the bar, it's always fun talking to the bartenders. Gorgeous atmosphere.
While our waiter was friendly, I felt rushed to order. Our food came out undercooked and when we sent it back, it still wasn’t cooked properly. A third time they got it right.
We have been going to Hooked for five years and always loved our pricey but delicious meal. Hoping the next time we go we will have better luck.
Food is very good. Different from your everyday sushi restaurant (especially the whole fish prepared in several different ways) and worth the experience, even with a hefty price tag. However the atmosphere does suffer from the poorly designed space. Very tight and cramped, for both the diners and the servers. The combination of high and low tables does not help, nor do the two very long bar areas. It is a pity, as they recently expanded and remodeled the place, and could have done a much better job. Finally, hosts and (some) servers could be kinder and more welcoming. A missed opportunity for a place that could have been exceptional.
Food was mediocre and very expensive. I don’t mind paying a lot for a good meal, but, fish was ok and salad had dirt grit in it - disappointing
The hostess was rude. The food was good however we got our dinner same time as entrees. For the price we would expect better
Too crowded. Not enough wait staff Over booked. Took 1.5 hrs to get our meal. Waiter was overwhelmed
We dined here 4 years ago on our snowboard trip at Beaver Creek. I remember food was pretty good, so we came back again.
The restaurant has expanded, I think it's double the size with a bar inside at the back.
We ordered ceviche of the night which is amberjack fish and seaweed salad as appetizer, as main course we have tuna taco and diver scallops. The ceviche was too much lime juice, everything else was not bad. I really enjoyed the scallops, I picked the classics way which is pan seared with beurre blanc, lemon zest, salt & pepper, it was perfectly cooked and really delicious.
The cocktails are definitely “short pours” - the worst we know of in the valley. And, with one our appetizers -a dozen oysters - the waiter asked us if we wanted horseradish to which we yes. A bowl with about a teaspoon of shavings was delivered when we were nearly finished with the oysters - nbd. But it turns out they charged us $2 for it!!! Why would an establishment like this charge for something like this? What did it cost $.05?? That is really low class in our opinion.
