Service was excellent - prompt, attentive, and kind. Food was delicious and came out of the kitchen at lightning speed, despite the restaurant being full. The vibe inside is similar in many ways to dim sum restaurants I've frequented in Hong Kong - large round tables with tablecloths, everyone talking and the kind of louder atmosphere, tea ever-present at all the tables. I was really looking forward to trying HK Lounge II because of all the hype, and it exceeded my expectations. Meanwhile, 3 friends from out of town (who had no idea about this restaurant always being on the Eater SF list) divulged after our meal that they were secretly a little intimidated by the thought of going to an authentic dim sum place, but that they were so thrilled we did and thanked me for taking them there many times. I know I'll be back.

Never fails to astound for ultra-fresh ingredients, prompt and friendly service, and creative Chinese cuisine. Easy parking on Parker Street on the south side of Geary makes this place an easy winner especially at affordable prices. 2018 Michelin Bib Gourmand.

Food is excellent as usual. Great Chinese food in a very nice and comfortable restaurant. Service is alway attentive. Finally, close street parking is never a problem. When I come into San Francisco and want good authentic Chinese food, this is the place.

STANLEY AND KEN ALMOST NEVER DISAPPOINTS. DINED HERE OVER 30 TIMES FOR SMALL AND LARGE OCCASIONS; LUNCH OR DINNERS, SINCE THEY'VE FIRST OPENED.

I celebrated my birthday with a couple buddies there Saturday night and had a great time. It's a little expensive, but the food is delicious and the service is quite good. Definitely worth it! Thanks HKL II!

Overall great food and service, but definitely not vegetarian friendly. Most of their vegetable dishes had meat and substitutions were not allowed.

Go to favorite that is popular with the locals and the out oft owners in the know. Authentic Dim Sum and some dishes, I would say rate amongst the best I've tasted in the US and Asia. Family favorite is the Baked Char Siu Pau. Service is fast, friendly and competent. Usually a wait at popular times but bookings available on Open table which is a help for larger parties

The food and service was excellent. We chose HK Lounge II for a family dinner celebrating a birthday. Ordered the prix fixe waygu beef special for 4 and added selections from the menu for the 8 of us. They have a Lambrusco on the wine list was was a nice complement for the food.

You have to wait for the available table if you do not call for reservation before hand.
Some of the dishes sold out if you have not pre-ordered at the time of making the reservation.

What Hong Kong Lounge lacks in updated decor it makes up for in authentic flavors, preparation, service and taste. This was our first visit and our server was most helpful in pointing our dishes based on our questions. He suggested the perfect amount to order as well. The dumplings were light, piping hot and each bite offered a delicious combination of meat, fish or vegetable. The pork buns were packed with well seasoned pork which remained moist and in tact. The sea bass was extremely fresh and flaky. Go for any dish served in a pineapple; first it’s so pretty. And the flavor just makes you want more. We had several servers who were gracious and stayed nearby to offer assistance and explanations. Don’t miss the Sake list. But if winebis your preference they offer a lovely selection.

I chose this restaurant as it was heralded as the "best Chinese food in San Francisco". I made reservations for 7:15 pm, arrived at 7:10, and wasn't seated until 7:25. Then, I was seated immediately next to the door. Yes, literally, I could open the door for guests.

The waiter didn't understand basic English. The order took 50 mins, yes, almost an hour. Then the server forgot to put in the order for rice. This is a Chinese restaurant, who forgets the rice? He also forgot the order for the drinks. He brought the rice 8 mins (I timed it) after the entrees were on the table and the sodas after that.

Now, dear reader, if you remember back when Pres Bush sent a Secret Service agent for Chinese food in Denver during a stop? That's where I normally eat. I'm used to good Chinese. Hong Kong Lounge II is no where near as good as what I get two blocks from my house.

The food is exceptionally overpriced for what it is. The service was poor. The seating is very limited and bad. Overall rating? "Skip it".

Great for Dim Sum. We didn’t like the coffee ribs as much as other reviewers but the Shanghai dumplings and shumai and potstickers and onion pancake were all great.

Food was very well prepared and tasty - several unique dishes not found in other restaurants, e.g. reasonably priced abalone and mushroom melange, macadamia vegetable dish. Only disappointing dish was the crab and noodle (where was the crab?) All in all, with careful study of the menu, one can come away feeling well taken care of. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I would suggest that the restaurant update its web site as we found out it was a "lotta" years old and didn't reflect the current menu.

Way too expensive for what you get. I’m happy to pay good money for fine food, but the idea of expensive dim sum is hard to swallow when you know there are amazing cheap spots nearby.

Always enjoy dim sum here-the service is better than most dim sum places: prompt, attentive and brisk but not too rushed. Food is very, very good-flavors are spot-on: from staples like Siu mai, har gow, steamed pork buns to steamed tripe (so good!) and chicken feet. Yummy. Though slightly pricier than other places like The Kitchen and Dim Sum King, it's worth it. You can have a nice family brunch and not feel rushed.
Reservations for 6 or more for dim sum, otherwise it's walk-in only. No ordering from carts-it's all from a dim sum menu.

The waiter mis heard an item in our order and acted like it was our fault. Very rude. Did not offer to take it back. We were there with 10 people for my mothers 84th birthday. Unfortunate, terrible customer service. Would not take three credit cards for an equal split. Ridiculous . Will not go again !

Surprisingly poor food given the price ($9 sui mei), location (Geary near Anza), and rav reviews. The calamai was greasy, and battered in a non-traditional tempura like coating. Salt and pepper ribs were tasty but hardly worth $13 given their size.
