Awesome place, amazing chef and staff! Would absolutely recommend for any occasion
My wife and I come here a lot for our date nights. We love the food, the staff and the music at night. Great atmosphere and always fun.
Visited for dinner before a show at Burlington Performing Arts Centre. We all went for the specials which were steaks that night. Excellent meat. Well prepared. Desert was also excellent. Dinner for two was $140, with wine, which we thought was a bit pricey . Other menu items are cheaper, but we have had no experience until next time.
Love the $8 Lunch at Honey West - perfect spot for a ladies lunch in Burlington. I have been 3x and each time the dishes on offer are interesting and delicious. My only complaint is that it can be a bit loud which is not so easy for those with hearing challenges.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere and entertainment. Highly recommend!
Good service, good atmosphere (we ate outside and it was lovely). Cheeseburger egg rolls were great. Parmesan fries didn't have any Parm :( - kitchen staff forgot it (although we recd a discount for this). Most of our meals were good / great but the beef cheek gnocchi was not fully cooked and the sauce was very salty. We'll give this restaurant another try.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. We had the lunch special, quantity was larger than I had anticipated . A flavourful chicken wrap .Unfortunately a little disappointed with the soup rather tasteless. Will try again at some point.
We went for the Thursday night pizza special and we enjoyed it very much. The pizza was excellent. The service here is very good. The patio is very relaxing.
Our evening was perfect! 14 of us for a small family gathering. Food was delicious (their new menu) and our servers took excellent care of our every need! Mike/Brendan sang so the music was excellent too! Some of our family had never been to Honey West and they were pleasantly impressed! Adam did an amazing job of cooking for all of us!!
Too much dressing on beet salad. Too Salty chicken wrap
We have come here several times and always enjoy the food. This time we were there to celebrate a special occasion. We chose Honey West because we had two teenagers with us and wanted to take them to a place that was nice enough for a celebration but casual enough that they would feel comfortable. Honey West was the perfect mix.
Honey West has a great atmosphere and personable staff. The food was excellent and my glass was never empty. A downtown gem for sure.
The new lunch specials are a great deal at $8.00. I was surprised at how nice the food was at that price. I ordered the penne and it was very nice. The portions might be small for some but it was nicely done.
Great food, started with jalapeño cheddar wontons and grilled chicken lettuce wraps that were both amazing! Then split a lobster mac 'n' cheese and a 3 pig pizza (bacon, pulled pork, and capicola), again both were excellent, especially the pizza! The pizza was on very thin crispy crust, with really good marinara sauce, reminded me of real Italian pizza. The service was excellent too, our server was very friendly and attentive with hovering around us, but always there when we wanted something. Would definitely go back again!
Delicious food, great service and knowledgeable staff.. I can't wait to go back!
We went to HoneyWest as it was very close to our home and it is always packed. The menu seemed interesting and we wanted to give the restaurant a shot. At first, everything was fine with the service being generally attentive and the live music a nice touch. We were quickly served with drinks and ordered the taste of Burlington menu.
The first course arrived promptly and the disappointment started. The salad was akin to something you would get at a grocery store deli and the lobster bisque was just a very creamy tomato soup with occasional small bits of lobster. We hoped this was not indicative of the rest of the meal, but we soon received the second course, which was a filled won-ton wrapper and an egg roll. The portions were small and the quality was average, it reminded us of ready-to-bake party snacks that you would buy at a frozen aisle in a grocery store.
Finally, for the third and main course, we had a steak with Garlic mashed. The garlic mash was adequate but overly buttery and I found two whole, uncooked, cloves of garlic in mine. The steak itself was tough, chewy and under seasoned. The cook was fine but the meat was such low quality that it was very nearly inedible, sinewy and tough. My wife could not finish the steak, as it was too difficult to eat.
We really wanted this place to be good, and for sure the atmosphere is good and it may be a very good place to hang out for drinks and pub fare. However, the prices being charged are those of a very high end restaurant but the quality is lower than most restaurant chains. The value is simply not there, and it made for a very disappointing evening.
I've enjoyed the food at honey west many times. My most recent visit on May 2nd was a disaster! There were 10 of us and 9 of us had food which was over cooked. Two were so badly executed they had to be sent back. The manager was notified and we waited about 15 mins before the waitress came by to take the plates. We ordered two pizzas, three burgers, two lobster mac and cheese, surf and turf, oysters and the chicken.
Burgers came out well done. We ordered medium rare for all three. Lobster mac and cheese had tomatoes sauce and some of pasta was crunchy. Pizzas were very very dark. The chicken was cooked well. The other two sent back.
We were so irritated that we just requested the bill. No second drink for any of us... A strange occurrence.
On the pro side the drinks were well made and the band was great! The server did well too but had too many tables.
My overall thoughts are that a new manager came in or the head cook left/on vacation.
Will not go back for a while.
After making a reservation with Open Table, I was disappointed to find out that the restaurant couldn't accommodate us until one hour later due to a private event. Luckily we were able to change our time. I found it loud, but the service from the moment we were greeted at the door to our waiter was excellent and only 1/10 was not satisfied with his meal. Even then the management gave him a coupon on his next visit. I am a foodie and I'd recommend this place.
This was my second time at Honeywest and the first time the food and service was excellent. The food this time was good but the service not nearly as good as the first time. The server seemed more interested in setting the tables for a large group than she did about us. Will likely try some other restaurants in the area before I return to Homeywest.
We enjoyed ourselves at Honey West but will probably not go back. Both the greeter and server were very nice and friendly and probably the high points of the evening. We found the prices high for the quality of food and the red wine was very cold when served. In fact both glasses tasted as if they had been watered down but perhaps that is just a result of the temperature. There are too many outstanding restaurants in Burlington and Oakville to give this place another chance.
Great food, great ambiance. Live music! We were seated a little close to the band so it was loud but still great dinner!
Service was surprisingly good considering only 1 server/bartender was working. Everything came out in good time and really loved the French Onion soup.
A friend and I enjoyed excellent service and attention during our extra long lunch. The salad and pizza were delicious. Would recommend to friends.
Loved our evening at Honey West. Enjoyed great food, friendly service and energetic music all night long!
I made a reservation for myself and my wife for our anniversary this past Friday (Sept. 26). When we arrived our table wasn't ready and we were asked to wait at the bar. Honey West was recommended to us but it became apparent very quick that it's not what we had expected. Our table was at the front of the restaurant in the bar section, and right in front of the live music, which was loud (and not great). We asked if there was an available table farther away from the musician and were told there wasn't. We decided to leave and find someplace else.
We were expecting an intimate dining experienced based on what we had been told by friends. It wasn't what we expected. The staff was nice and it seemed like a good place for a group of people.
We were very impressed with the two appetizers we had. The cheeseburger rolls and bruschetta. Our server was excellent as well
The strawberry bruschetta was delicious, the caesar salad was not too creamy, not too tart, and the goat cheese chicken phyllo was amazing. Holly was friendly, made good recommendations and was accommodating of our requests. Will definitely recommend Honey West to others.
Food and service is fantastic! Rarely do you get both. But Honey West is great. Find yourself on the patio or even dining inside. Atmosphere lights up when the live music hits on Friday night combined with the outdoor heaters lit up. We'll be back again.
As always the food in Honeywest was excellent and the atmosphere was great - it's always a fun night here.
8 of us had Thursday pizza special and drinks! The music was fun! Classic familiar radio tunes! Great evening and price was right!
Our server seated us immediately and we enjoyed a cold beer while waiting for our other guests. The meal was outstanding! Good portiion size and delicious! Sarah took excellent care of all of us! We all loved it!
Late Sunday night on a long weekend - a tough go for any restaurant.
We were offered drinks fairly quickly but when we required only water we were left for some time and had to request menus. The food seemed to take a long time to come even though we were the last of the patrons.
The Thai chicken bowl was a huge portion, flavorful, but disappointing . The thick udon noodles were not soft, but rather chewy and the chicken was tough & overcooked. The veggie lasagne on the other hand was tasty with a simple light pasta noodle.
We asked our server to split the bill, but he put everything on one and had to re do .
This place is probably a great restaurant - good for the 30's set -but had a less than stellar Sunday night
We recently went to Honey West to celebrate my mother's birthday. We had a 6pm reservation and when we arrived the restaurant was fairly empty. Waiter originally was going to place the 4 of us in a VERY tight corner near the waiter set up area (noisy). We asked for another table and at first they seems reluctant to sit us anywhere else but did make room for us at another table. The service was great and the food was DELICIOUS! The only thing I found a little disturbing was my sister-in-law had a drink in a flute glass and where we were sitting the sun was shining on the glass and you could see lots of spots on the glass, looked very dirty.
This would not stop me for going to Honey West again.
The Lobster Bisque did not disappoint!
Dined for lunch on Valentine's Day - was great ambiance as well as Olympic Spirit with the men's semi-final hockey game on tv behind the bar. The Lobster Bisque is my favorite and again hit the mark on my expectations. My husband had the wrap and the portion size was so big he brought half home. Kudos to the chef!
Just a little too loud for talking and listening.
Had such a great night. The food and wine were fabulous as was the singer. We were there for over 5 hours!
Time flew having fun!
I took a friend, who lives in Burlington , to Honey West for lunch as she had never been before. We shared the Jalapeno Cheese poppers appetizer, which was wonderful with the cinnamon / pineapple chutney. We both ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with chicken, brie and green apple, and fries. It was a little too much for us , next time we will share the sandwich. It was absolutely delicious! the only reason the review is not 5/5 is because the server forgot our appetizers and brought them after we started our meal, but she was very apologetic about it and was sincerely sorry.
Have mentioned Honey West to several friends and will definitely be back.
Excellent food, creative presentation, very pleasant service, and great live music.
Thank you.
Excellent menu options - not big but just the right combination to fit everyone's taste preference. Service was tremendous and meal was superbe! I highly recommend it!
