Honey Salt - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
This was the first time we’ve experienced anything less than stellar service at HoneySalt and apparently this was due to a staff issue when a bartender didn’t come in to work. We were lost in the shuffle of reassigned duties and had to wait quite awhile for wait staff. The food was excellent! A one-time issue won’t keep us from returning.
Weekend lunch at 11:30. Ordered the Bacon Grilled Cheese with fries and the Biloxi fried chicken sandwich with caeser salad. Both dishes were fantastic. The chicken sandwich is now a favorite and we’ll be back for another. The grilled cheese was great as well, but half of it was plenty with the abundance of cheese piled in there. Busy place, but service was friendly and adequate.
The number and variety of food choices was a bit disappointing. Most of the food was good, a couple of items were excellent (the prosciutto flatbread and pramasian lavosh) while a couple were pretty disappointing (lemon salad and Brussels sprouts) the rest were ok, but pretty expensive.
I made a brunch reservation for myself and six of my friends. When I arrived a 14-top walk-in had just taken up the table I reserved so we were relegated to sitting outside. In December. It took me asking twice and an additional 15 minutes for the server to come get our drink order. Throughout the meal we didn't receive a coffee refill without asking and then waiting at least five minutes. I ordered steak and eggs, medium rare and poached. I got a medium well steak and raw eggs. The egg white wasn't cooked and they were ice cold. I would have sent it back, but I didn't see him again for an hour. When we finally tracked him down to get the bill, we asked for it to be split. He told us it would "take too long" so I began to split it on my own. He came back and slapped the newly separated bills on the table and left.
I am embarrassed because I highly recommended Honey Salt. It fell far below my expectations and I feel foolish for recommending it to my friends. It was an abysmal experience and was no where near the $25 per person cost for inedible food and horrible service.
I do not recommend this restaurant.
We always enjoy going to Honey-Salt. The food is always good and so is the service; however, the noise level is generally fairly high. We also appreciated that they had a prix fixe Chanukah menu, although we didn’t end up ordering it. The salmon, steak and shrimp were all very good. The beet salad was a little weird in that some beets were pickled and some were not and the accompanying pine nuts seemed a little soggy, only a small glitch in what was, as always, a wonderful evening.
Had a very nice meal, with friendly but perhaps overly officious service (quick to remove dishes even before we were done eating); lunch menu was good, though only truly memorable dish was the salted butterscotch ice cream for dessert. Nothing dissatisfactory but not worth traveling across town for; given how far it is to the northwest, can only recommend for those who are already close by.
We've been here before for anniversaries and birthdays, and it was the perfect setting for the belated birthday - double date get together with our friends that we had. We came for the Slash Monday menu, which had amazing options and prices that we all selected something from as well as a Happy Hour menu that we had no idea about. Our friend who are dairy free were easily accommodated as well. The food and service was excellent, we were surprised it wasn't busier for such a great deal. Hopefully we'll be back again soon to take advantage of the Happy Hour and Monday menu again.
Honey Salt is amazing. We went for brunch and it was great. Had the monkey bread, breakfast nachos, Benedict, chicken sandwich and chicken salad. All were amazing. Fast friendly service, where our glasses were never empty and food was brought out promptly. Great Bloody Mary too.
We came to this place because it said local, organic and inviting. That they treat everyone as friends & family. We came with our daughter and were seated promptly. We had to ask the hostess for paper & coloring pencils...even though we had a reservation.
Our drinks were ok, the cucumber cooler was not cooling at all. Way to strong of a non alcoholic drink. Ice tea was ok. Sad that they didn't offer any organic sweeteners. Just the toxic ones found at Denny's. Made me really question how organic this place was. We had trouble picking out our dinner & felt rushed to make the decision. After our meal came I wanted to look at the menu to see what it came with, because it was different than the description, the server was rude and told us the kitchen was closing. We felt rushed to finish our food. We hadn't even finished our appetizers. The finished plates were left on the table & not picked even though several employees walked by. The only person that seemed to care was the expo lady. It seemed everyone that worked there were very busy, although it was quite empty.
Our food was ok, drinks ok, staff ok...but the atmosphere was nice.
I left an amazing tip because I kept over hearing our server talk about how little people were tipping her. I have worked in the service industry for over 10 years, and Know what great service is and what to do to really take care of guests...there are things you do not do in front of guests...
Overall...I would give only one star for the looks of this place.
Organic, local & seasonal may be in the description, but if you are a true foodie, save your time & money. Go somewhere else!
It had been awhile since dining here and I selected it this evening based on location. I am so glad! I was reminded of just how nice it is. The room is lovely and strikes a nice balance of casual with elegant. The food was outstanding. My scallops were absolutely flavorful and caramelized perfectly. My husband said that the chicken curry was the best he has ever had and would return again just for that dish. Our friends had the tiger shrimp with bucatini and loved it. We finished up with the brown bag Apple pie which was not too sweet. All in all, Honey Salt is solid. We will return soon.
Food and service were great! The down grade on food was due to portion on the salmon plate! Wife is a petite person and she didn’t get enough to eat! Needs to be a little larger portion of fish! I had the scampi and it was perfectly cooked and s great portion.
Food was very good; although, the biscuits were a little cold. Waiter was pleasant, but then disappeared for a spell. They also ran out of coffee during Sunday brunch--huh? When the mgr (owner?) asked, we told him of the above. He fixed it right away and handled it very professionally.
Honey Salt was great way to end our Vegas vacation. The laid back atmosphere with a serene decor was very welcoming. Everyone we encountered greeted us with a friendly smile. Angel our bartender was beyond helpful with our food and wine choices and made our visit so fun and enjoyable. You can taste the freshness in their food!! We will definitely be back.
Dinner menu is very limited. I was expecting alot more from the revues I read and all of the great food pics I saw. Very disappointed. Would never do dinner here. The dessert sucked also. Had peach cobbler with sour peaches. Alot of sour peaches and very little crust. Wife had strawberry shortcake. Instead of shortcake they use a doughy biscuit that's not even sweet. I hope breakfast and lunch have better options.
