Homestretch Steakhouse at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino Ratings and Reviews
Excellent service, awesome food. The atmosphere is a little lacking for a steakhouse that serves a high-end, pricier menu. It is connected in an open-air feel, with theatre seating to a buffet restaurant above it. Given that the buffet-style serves kids and families and was hustling and bustling all night, it brought down the feel of the restaurant for me and makes it harder to recommend for a date or special occasion.
We had a wonderful dinner. The view of the horse track was fabulous. Two people in our party ordered the filet and it was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The other two people in our party had the smaller prime rib, which was also very good. The highlight of the menu was the Angell'd deviled eggs. They were fabulous. The au gratin potatoes and the roasted garlic mashed potatoes were a huge hit as well. The sriracha roasted cauliflower was tasty but a bit dry. The cheesecake and chocolate cake were also very moist and flavorful.
Definitely we dine there again.
Food was great, service was great. It's awesome to be able to sit there the whole time and bet on the races, and drink and just have a great time. Jessica was a new server and did a great job. Everyone was super friendly and they always remember us every year when we come back.
Second time here recently as last experience was fabulous. This time, not so much. Betting on the horses is always fun, the view is great and our server was wonderful. Unfortunately our food was subpar. The shrimp on the seafood appetizer trio tasted like Iodine and the sea bass was very mushy in the middle. Will try again, but it is expensive so we expect a great experience every time.
Food was overly priced for the quality and food received. My steak was cooked wrong twice and it took almost an hour to receive our entree, which included an overly cooked dried out filet mignon. Second one made was rushed cooked underdone. We boxed it up, brought it home and it was made much better.
This was our first time here. The waitress was very good. I ordered the prime rib, but when it was brought out it was very very rare. And i had ordered it medium rare, but this was pure pink. I mostly like should have said something but did not want to complane to the waitress since she was very nice. The other issue was we ordered dessert to go and it took almost 30 minutes for them to bring that out to us. Maybe they where short handed in the kitchen? Other than that it was very good.
