Homestead was our favorite restaurant for as long as it was open. We are very sad that it is closing at the end of the week. Our last dinner there was memorable in every way. Every bite was a reminder of what we are losing. Best of luck to Fred and his family. We wish you every happiness in your new home. Please know that we are grateful for your contributions to our neighborhood.
Homestead was our 1st dinner out after baby to celebrate Father’s Day and despite the initial stress as first-time parents of trying to calm our fussy baby, we were able to enjoy an amazing 4-course meal thanks to the kind staff, friendly owner, and his adorable kids running around. Each dish was my new favorite from the refreshing ceviche to the pillowy soft gnocchi to the buttery halibut to the decadent chocolate tart. I hope we will have a chance to eat here again, especially with its daily new menu to check out.
Homestead is my go to spot to “host” friends.
As usual we had a lovely evening!! We each ordered different items from the gorgeous menu and shared! Every bite was delicious.
Our server was friendly and very attentive. The Outdoor seating area is quaint and very inviting.
See you again soon Homestead!!
Another great meal at Homestead! Now that we have warm weather, it's really enjoyable to sit outside and enjoy a leisurely and really outstanding meal. While I often wish that there was an option to get half the meat and twice the veg for the entree (probably a portioning nightmare for the chef, I know!!), the menu was great, we really loved all the courses, and we so appreciate that they are always able to accommodate a lactose allergy. I have no idea how much longer Homestead will be able to 'own' the alley, but I'm personally hoping we'll get to keep enjoying that space all summer.
We wanted to give Homestead a visit before it closes the end of June. Ultimately,we thought it was a major bust @ $80/person(does include gratuity).
The menu was the exact one from the night before which sounded good enough but the experience was subpar.
My ‘charred’ asparagus were essentially
so charred the green was lost as was the flavor. I had the soft shell crab tempura in a black bean sauce. The crab was past its prime & the black bean sauce was sooo salty it was not
a distraction from the crab. I complained to our waitperson who simply said”yes, the black bean sauce
is strong “. She returned and said she had told the “chef”. No offer of another choice or course nor a comp.
The porchetta was a very sparse serving & the accompanying “herbed farro” was inedible it was so salty.
The redeeming course was the chocolate pot de creamer.
The lack of pride in what remains is painfully obvious. It was our first venture out to eat since March 2020.
We both felt we could have had a far better meal especially @ the nearly

Trying to soak up as much Homestead as we can! The menu was well-paced, considered, and perfect portions. I can't choose a favorite dish – they were all spectacular. THe outdoor seating is located in between their building and the next. Festooned with market lights, it has a lovely European sidewalk feel. If you have the opportunity to visit before they close dinner services, GO! It doesn't matter what the daily menu will be, everything is fantastic, and the staff is as kind, welcoming, and friendly as ever.
Great food; friendly service.
Each couple ordered so that we could split the entire menu. The salmon and duck entrees were particularly delicious, but really everything was tasty and well presented. The hoisin-based sauce on the soft shell crab appetizer was a little heavy, but even that was quite good. The bottle of Dolcetto d'Alba was sublime, really paired well with every course.
So a lovely dining experience overall. Sorry to hear that they are closing soon.
Always impeccable food, farm-to-table. It’s my go-to place. I am so so sorry that our community will be losing them. It will leave a hole.
Mixed review...some courses were great, others not so special. Prix Fixe with only 2 selections per course is a little limiting. Server was not too friendly.
Superb. Across the board, superb.
Amazing food, great service. So sad to see them go.
The service was exceptional. Sue was amazing. The food was off the charts. I would recommend it to anyone and will definitely return.
So delicious and so sad it’s closing!

Really good, elegant food, nice patio, love the smell of the fireplace! Attentive staff although our server was a little bit cold/short with us. Great house made bread. Nice for dipping every course.
Prix Fixe fabulous. We had all the items. All were great.
Their food is always wonderful. Service was great and they made me feel special on my birthday.
Homestead has outstanding serious cooking. Simple foods combined in different ways, sides especially great. Always enjoyable, efficient friendly service. Still sitting outside but pleasant.
4 course prix fix dinner was outstanding. No inside seating and the night we went was very cold and windy. Because of the wind the heat lamps had to be turned off a lot.
Very creative cuisine. The pan roasted halibut was absolutely delicious. Although the menu is fixed there is still quite a bit of variety if you like salads and vegetables.
The team accommodated a surprise birthday party for my husband! Truly grateful for their hospitality.
Family dinner: food was awesome, service polite, friendly, attentive and intuitive. Thank you Homestead!
The food was very disappointing. Very. The table was very dark - no candles even; we couldn't see our food - I still don't know what I bit into in my appetizer, but it was hard and not food-like, and I was scraping something black from my teeth and tongue for ten minutes. Just Yuck. Also, there were no heat lamps, so it was rather cold.
Everything was great!
It was a wonderful evening. Food was fantastic. Server was great. Highly recommend Homestead. They accommodated every single dietary concerns we had. All this stayed inside of their prefix menu
This was one of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had. They have tables outside with heaters so it is really comfortable. The food was delicious. They had gnocchi on the menu, which I love, I order whenever I can, and I make at home. This gnocchi was without a doubt the most delicious I have ever tasted, and I've eaten gnocchi in Italy!
Everything else was absolutely delicious, too. We loved every bite of every dish, and would wholeheartedly recommend Homestead Restaurant!
Great night out. Four course set menu was delicious.
As always, impeccable food, farm to table. Delicious.
Fresh, innovative, and perfectly executed food. Excellent wine and beer menu as well.
Is was so nice to have a dining experience where the staff was welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable about their food. Also, the outdoor dining situation made it such that I could actually the people at my table speak. The norm is to have so much noise at restaurants these past few years. Memorable meal!
Wonderful menu! I started with the duck liver mousse, followed by very tender quail with stewed greens in a spicy sauce. The highlight of my meal was the pan seared halibut. The server allowed me to choose different side dishes to make it just the way I liked it.
This restaurant includes the service in the price: I like that very much. There is no need to calculate the appropriate gratuity.
Love Homestead! They change the menu frequently, their dishes are really interesting, and the ambiance is cozy :)
The prix fixe was delicious - we loved every single dish. It's more affordable on weeknights, which was a nice surprise. Wine list was wonderful and the desserts surprisingly lovely. A treat!
Everything was excellent. The meal was $250 for 2 with an excellent bottle of wine including tax and gratuity. A great value given the quality of food and 4 course prix fixe menu.
Loved every dish, and had a great recommendation for wine.
It's our first time visiting Homestead and it was our anniversary too. The food was outstanding, every dish was full of flavors and ingredients seemed fresh. From the quail to artichokes to asparagus to shrimp, all great. Due to CoVid we were seated in an alley outdoors and towards the end of our meal it started getting cold. They have heaters but they are not too effective. Nevertheless it was a great experience and we loved it. Also got cookies as a surprise on our anniversary. Will go back again.
Outstanding. Lovely attention to detail and warm service.
Lovely 4 course fixed price dinner. Very kind waiter, made everyone feel welcome. Very nice wine selection
Terrific! Thank you for accommodating our needs as well!!!
My experience at homestead was pleasant. The food was good. Each plate was the perfect portion for a three course meal. The artichoke salad was my least favorite and the pasta with quail egg was my most favorite. The staff was friendly enough. The outdoor dining experience was not the best; I think the tables could be wider, the heaters could be bigger and the chairs could be more comfortable. We also had some rosé wine that was served chilled and it was very good. Overall I think the experience could be better and the food didn't "wow" me but it was good none the less.
Homestead continues to serve outstanding food under difficult circumstances, all tables outside. However, even on a windy night the heaters kept everyone warm and the friendly service, the creative food made for a wonderful evening.
The dishes are interestingly plated, the choices adequate, and everything is very tasty.
Wonderful as usual.
