Homer Street Cafe & Bar
Housed in two of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings, Homer St Cafe and Bar is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
Classic comfort cooking takes center stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. It’s chicken that’s the star here: served in quarter, half or whole portions, accompanied by classic sides basted in jus.
A decidedly adventurous wine and cocktail list rounds out the menu. The restaurant features two spaces that consist of an open concept kitchen “Chef’s Bar” where one can get up close and personal with the culinary team, a semi private dining room with reclaimed factory windows, and bespoke seating complemented by antique tiling.

Great restaurant with outdoor heated seating and lovely ambience.
Everything was excellent. Had fantastic appetizers and service was thoughtful
Mediocre - good server - but even though we told the staff at arrival - after they asked- that it was a BDay , we were placed at a table in an area without ambience - and no further mention was made of the occasion- they should rather not have asked
We had lunch at Homer Street Cafe on February 15th. Our first visit since the pandemic and so happy to report that the quality of the wonderful food and service that I have come to expect from HSC is still outstanding! Our server David was extremely attentive and ensured that all my food restrictions were accommodated.
Came here for my birthday on Valentine's day and had a wonderful time! A nice , thoughtful touch was was a lovely pink rose wrapped in purple paper for each table at the restaurant. The roast chicken, gnocchi, and steak tartare was absolutely to die for. Such a cozy and cute interior with lively atmosphere, would highly recommend to anyone!
Food was outstanding, and they also put in a lot of effort to make every guest’s dine in experience memorable.
Consistently great food and service! Has become one of my favourite places to brunch!
I’ve come here a couple of times now - each time has been memorable, fun, and delicious! The vibe is incredible, the servers are very friendly, and the music is always on point. Prepare to wear a smile for your entire stay :)
One of our local favourites! Exceptional food and service inan unassuming, casual and comfortable setting.
Homer st Cafe and bar brunch is pretty good (better than OEB's), the food is not cheap, but the environment and service is worth it!
I love this restaurant. The service is always friendly and the food was DELICIOUS! I had the veggie benny and the hollandaise was perfection. I suggest the espresso martini if you're feeling fancy.
One of the best brunch restaurants in Vancouver. The food is so mouthwatering good.
Very nice restaurant, I have been on the patio in the past. Food-wise - we did only order the big board to nibble on cheese and meats with the wine; the board in the past had more variety if I recall properly. But generally, it was great, we had an awesome server (from Australia) and will definitely return. Warm recommendations
Excellent dinner and very good cocktails! Highly recommend this place for a nice dinner.
Amazing food, great atmosphere, staff were so attentive and helped elevate the experience. Will be coming back soon.
Had an absolutely fabulous time, the servers were wonderfully informative and helpful. Food and cocktails were delicious and we loved the space. We shared and thoroughly enjoyed the shared meal on the features menu. Would highly recommend a visit, thank you for having us :)
My only comment would be:
Please try to offer a better and more aromatic Earl Grey tea :)
Excellent menu that always offers new items and always cooked to perfection.
Great service and good quality.
As usual a fantastic experience. They take their covid measures seriously and it makes for an even more enjoyable dining experience.
What a great night out! Our server, Dawn, made it an amazing night and was able to make some great recommendations for both food and drinks. Working with the bartender David, they came up with a unique drink for one of our fussy guests and she loved it. The kitchen staff did an amazing job and all of the food was delicious. We can’t wait to go back!
What a lovely brunch! great selection of buzzy drinks too, try the oat orange brandy and espresso cocktail! such unique flavor, really worked! the special truffle scramble was also divine :)
Thank you Amanda and teams for your great service, we shall definitely be back soon.
Service and food were fantastic!
Really good quality happy hour food and great vibes! Would come again. Service was fantastic too!
Staff were brilliant. Very attentive, polite and extremely knowledgable
Was all great and amazing food. Super friendly staff, will come back.
Always delicious and excellent service
Food, value and service were tops. Our only complaint was that the music was too loud, even after we asked it to be turned down and it was (a tiny bit).
Great service by the wait staff. Food was better than expected; top tier quality for its price point. The meal did take longer as food took a long time to come out but overall a food experience.
Great ambience for New Year’s Eve with great food! Will be back :)
Dawn is an amazing server. The food is great. The decor, music and energy is outstanding.
The food was amazing and everyone was friendly and kind!
The chilaquiles option was great :)
My second time in there and I love it!
Fabulous! We love Homer Street Cafe — tonight I tried their Bistro Filet which was superb! Their Cobb Salad is excellent too. Great service and ambience.
Lovely French bistro setting. We shared a whole rotisserie chicken. The gravy was missing a little pizazz, kudos on the chicken the greens salad and my oh my that biscuit.
Always good menu and food selection at Homer Street Cafe.
It was great.
Very warm and inviting. Great staff and food was delicious!
Awesome experience on patio! Staff and food superb! Music is a bit loud inside for ease of conversation.
Our favourite restaurant in Vancouver!
One of the best in Vancouver, honestly you won't ever regret coming here unless you hate beautiful food, and amazing friendly staff!
Service was great. Only concern was "still or sparkling"? The server brought us a bottle of still and a bottle of sparkling. If you've been to this restaurant before, you would know they used to have a "soda stream" for the restaurant. We got our bill and they charged us $7 for sparkling water. The feedback i provided the server was, "perhaps advise people the cost of sparkling" upon ordering. Kindly, he removed it from the bill.
I was also a bit bummed by the lack of vegetarian/pescatarian options (or variety) on the menu. In the past, there have been some really awesome options. This visit, not so much. The fish dish was made with ham hock (the server mentioned there is an option to do without it) and only one vegetarian main - gnocchi. It was DELICIOUS. The depth of flavour obtained was excellent. I think there was only two appetizer options for a vegetarian.
I also ordered the Brussels sprouts for a bit of freshness on side. They were a bit heavy, but yummy.
I was also a bit bummed by the lack of variety on the white wine list. I prefer interesting whites but there were no options for my pallet.
As you can tell, I fancy myself a critic :) I will always return to this restaurant as it has always been consistent. Unfortunately, this time was a bit disappointing, menu wise for me.
