Homer Street Cafe & Bar
Housed in two of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings, Homer St Cafe and Bar is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
Classic comfort cooking takes center stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. It’s chicken that’s the star here: served in quarter, half or whole portions, accompanied by classic sides basted in jus.
A decidedly adventurous wine and cocktail list rounds out the menu. The restaurant features two spaces that consist of an open concept kitchen “Chef’s Bar” where one can get up close and personal with the culinary team, a semi private dining room with reclaimed factory windows, and bespoke seating complemented by antique tiling.

Noisy but tasty
David is a charming host
Food is good. We shared 2 very good starters and for mains, i enjoyed the ling cod, which i can highly recommend. My husband's flat iron steak was also very good, very tender and tasty. Service is friendly and attentive. It was very busy and noisy on the night we dined, but we could still talk without having to shout.
Our guests from San Diego said the pork loin benny's was the best they've ever had!
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, everyone was pleasant and the food outstanding!
It's a great place to go; reasonably priced for the ambiance and food.
We opted for the family dinner and are so glad we did. Four of us were able to sample a range of apples, sides, and mains, then each chose our preferred dessert. The restaurant was busy, but we didn’t feel rushed or forgotten about. Some of the standouts from our meal were the brussel sprouts, pork belly, and steak. We never did figure out the unique flavour of the coleslaw. It made for a lovely accompaniment to the rotisserie chicken. We’ll definitely go back!
I love this little cafe. It feels like you are eating in someone's home. The service was excellent as was the food.
This is our place to go when we are in downtown Vancouver. The Homer Street Cafe service is always top notch as is the menu selection and delicious food. We also love the energy of the place. You will only feel good vibes here. Looking forward to our next visit in a month.
Great lunch! Food was awesome! Thank you for the birthday bubbly and card! Carter our server was a great combination of excellent server with a sense of humour! Will be back
We were happy with our meal however the bartender was very distracted with friends at the other end of the bar. We had asked for our bill and waited for 5 minutes for anyone to come by to ask. All in all we love the place but that was really disappointing.
Great place for lunch. Attentive service and lots of variety
the cocktail was good.
WE have eaten in this restaurant often over the years. It remains consistetly great. Always a treat & staff are always knowledgable & friendly!
Food was great, service was fantastic, thanks to Emilie on Sunday evening! We had theatre tickets so were in a bit of a rush but she handled everything beautifully with a big smile.
Great service and a nice welcome sparkling wine on the house made it special. Food was good and cocktails were great!
I booked a table for 2 at 6pm 2 weeks before the date. When we arrived we were told 3 times in the space of 5 minutes that we had to leave by 8pm as the table is booked by someone else then. We were seeing a show, would leave by 7:30pm at the latest anyway, but being told this 3 times made us feel like whoever is coming after us is obviously more important. I ordered the roast of the day which was short ribs and my friend ordered the quarter chicken. My $32 short rib dinner consisted of 2 carrots, maybe a cup of mashed potatoes and 1 short rib, most of which was just fat. It had almost no flavour. My friend, who doesn't eat dairy, was told there was no substitutes for the coleslaw, so she just had a rubbery (her word) chicken leg and roast potatoes for $24. My $13 Negroni was good, but it was so loud in there we could barely talk. I have been twice before and enjoyed it, but this dinner was so disappointing. Drinks only if I come back.
Homer Street cafe is one of our favorites in Vancouver. Good food, good service.
Go! Go try it your self you won't be disappointed. Make reservations as it is popular place.
Consistently the best service in town in the best room! The food is great, too, but it’s the warmth of the room and the staff that makes HSC my go-to restaurant for date night, dinner with friends or a pre-game nosh with my kids.
Always a great experience. Solid menu, they know what they are good at and stick to it. Great service, food delicious.
Nice restaurant to have a business lunch with a friend and client. Food was well propostioned for lunch and the service very friendly. Noise level a touch high.
Service was engaging, friendly and professional. Cozy restaurant and even when full it's still easy to hear your dinner companion. The meal itself was delicious and I can't stop thinking about the beet salad that I had. I'll be back for sure!
Great restaurant. Service was great and the food was creative and delicious. Only disappointment was the noise level.
Always always always fabulous!!!! Try the flat iron beef ... mwah!!
Great service! Excellent food, every bite was amazing.
Get in here and enjoy life. Fantastic dinner experience, service was great, food was amazing. Well done you.
Amazing experience one of my favorite restaurants in Yaletown!
We had a lovely lunch celebrating my birthday. The server was friendly, professional and informative and the food was delicious. Being near the kitchen as you walked in and left you are greated by not only the waitstaff but the kitchen staff as well. Would definitely recommend
Service are very good, all staffs are very friendly and the food are in reasonable price.
We have been going to the Homer Street Cafe & Bar for a number of years now and always look forward to our visit. The service is excellent and the food is always good. The cafe is in the heart of the theatre district which is very much to our liking. The Commodore and VSO are near by and Hockey is a slap shot away. We wouldn't want to forget B.C. Place because it has its venues as well. The cafe is well located and the food... Going to the Homer street cafe CAN be part of a delightful night out OR it can be the reason for the night out . Either way the experience is enhanced by our visit to this fine establishment. What do I recommend? Why the food of course! Oh yeah, and for me a refreshing glass of their stout. I can see that it won't take much convincing to get me to return to one of my favorite downtown Vancouver eateries!\
Keep killing it! We love so much about your brunch!!!
Great food and service. Great value also.
Food and service were excellent. Problem was noise level. Not a place you would go for a quiet romantic dinner. Took my partner there for valentines dinner and was too loud to talk to each other. Next meal there will be on a non holiday weekday.
Excellent service- manager was wonderful.
Far too noisy - it is impossible to hear people at even a close range.
Love the Homer Always great food and service can’t go wrong!
Great location. Great service and fresh ingredients. I will be going again soon.
The happy hour cocktails are a must have.
Great meal and attentive service. Had a friend in from London and she loved it.
Interesting and active atmosphere and tasty dishes. Our group of 4 all had the rotisserie chicken. The service was very good. Only negative feature was the noise level that made conversation difficult.
Amazing, as always
