Homer Street Cafe & Bar
Housed in two of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings, Homer St Cafe and Bar is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
Classic comfort cooking takes center stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. It’s chicken that’s the star here: served in quarter, half or whole portions, accompanied by classic sides basted in jus.
A decidedly adventurous wine and cocktail list rounds out the menu. The restaurant features two spaces that consist of an open concept kitchen “Chef’s Bar” where one can get up close and personal with the culinary team, a semi private dining room with reclaimed factory windows, and bespoke seating complemented by antique tiling.

The food was amazing . Service as well . The only thing that we did not enjoy was the space btw the tables . Peoples table are too close to each other , lack of space and privacy . Overall , great
Food, service, and atmosphere was great. Casual but nice all at the same time.
It was one of the most wonderful dining experiences my sister and I have ever had.
Accommodation of our paty of 4's needs was outstanding. Fresh herbs really shined in all the dishes. We definitely wanting to go back and try more of the menu.
This is our new "go to" favourite restaurant in Vancouver as it provides the right mix of excellent food, ambiance and service. Even greater value on a cold day. Love to watch the open kitchen and we really appreciate the service we get.
Wonderful food! And even better service given by Emilie!
Fantastic dining experience. Food was outstanding as was service
It was our friends birthday. The staff was super nice. They wrote a message card, and they even give us a round of sparkling wine on the house. We had a great time with delicious food, especially their oven roasted chicken which was amazing ! Highly recommended . One of our favourite dining place in Vancouver !
Great service and some great happy hour menu items. Portions were bigger than expected and we left very full. Also, they gave us a small surprise at the end! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to sit down for a few drinks and some "small" dishes with friends.
The chicken cobbler was delicious!! There were 5 of us, and we were all very happy with our brunch.
Delicious food, great service, very good location, a bit noisy
good quick meal prior to a Canucks game. House white wine was good as was the orecchiette pasta dish. Service was excellent.
It was my first time dining at Homer Street cafe on new years day for brunch and we were so happy with the experience! The food was amazing but to be honest it was the service from the host to the server that made the visit so much more amazing! Thank you we will be back for a dinner reservation soon!
The service is outstanding, super friendly and u can tell they are not faking it just to get more tips.... food is good as always. Love it !
Went for New Years - SUCH amazing food, atmosphere, friendly but refined service! The typical menu for me is great value but the holiday menu was quite disproportionate in price compared to the regular. I would have loved to try the dishes too, but cost was preventative.
Cannot day enough good things!!
My daughter and I had the braised lamb with a chickpea pesto. The lamb was melt in your mouth delicious, loved the chickpea bed. We had simple brussel sprouts to go with it and a very nice red. Tyler, our waiter was sensitive to our tastes and really on the ball with his recommendations and delightful humour! I live in Richmond Hill, Toronto but glad that my daughter lives on Richards St. because when I visit, I will definitely come back to your restaurant and I am sure my daughter will be in tow.
Thank you for a delicious end to my visit!
Spending a day with my daughter
We went to catch up with friends and it turned out to be the perfect place. Great food. Good cocktail selection (although could use a few more “lighter”, fruit or herb forward cocktail options). Service was slightly slow to start, but our second server was on top of everything. Overall, would absolutely recommend!
I would eat here every night if I could. My family and I visit Vancouver each year and we try and have at least a couple of lunches and dinner at Homer Street so we can taste their entire menu. Love the decor and the manager and service could not be better.
Good food, good service
First time! Loved it! We started with the lovely Lumette mocktail followed by the chickpea dip with plantain and taro chips, burrata with eggplant relish and grilled bread, and the chicken wings for our appetizers. We had quarter rotisserie chicken dinner with fries, gravy, and coleslaw for our mains. For dessert, the chocolate cheese cake was to die for and the peanut butter cookies with Nutella whip were beyond yummy. We were wildly impressed with the extremely delicious food, attentive and friendly staff, & relaxed vibe. Perfect comfort food choice. We will be back!
Lovely place to eat with great food. There was such a friendly atmosphere and the staff were so kind.
Homer St Cafe & Bar is fantastic! What a gem in the heart of the city! Our experience was excellent from our reception through pre-dinner cocktails (highly recommended), appetizers and Maine courses. Both service and food were top notch! Thanks for making a great evening for us!
Great family style dinner!
Was good. Get the chicken wings!
Server was inattentive and did not seem to understand the timing and flow of a meal. A manager was very apologetic and sent us off to the symphony with a box of cookies!
Had an amazing dinner although it is quite a noisy/energetic restaurant. After watching lots of Restaurant Impossible shows, it is clear that the kitchen is well run and staff seem happy.
Mostly enjoyed the experience bu one thing was a little annoying. We ordered only wine and a main course. The wine arrived quickly (a good thing) and the main course landed on the table immediately afterwards (not so good). No time to savour the wine. It made us feel rushed. Oh and it was noisy!
Really amazing service. Portions were on the small side. Would go again but make a reservation.
Food and service good. Will go back. A bit high on pricing. Too noisy for lunch time discussions
2nd time, 2nd Sunday in a row. The foos is so today and the Service is perfect. Always a nice moment there! Rotisserie Chicken is one of my favorite dish. I went with 6 other friends, we all took different dishes and we all loved our choice! Homer café begin to be one of my favorite place in vancouver.
Great place for a family meal. Great service and food! Thx guys you are great.
Went for brunch. Good food, great vibe, decent price, not too loud. Only complaint would be that the second round of coffees took a bit longer than normal.
Two couples: one new to the restaurant, the other frequent visitors. Experience was excellent and consistent all-around.
Wow this was an awesome experience. Cozy atmosphere and staff are so personable. They manage to make you feel that you’re the only ones in the place. It’s busy and bussling! We like that! We had the duck patè theand the pork belly for appies then the flat iron steak and the lamb for mains. Everything was outrageously good. Our new restaurant.
Birthday dinner. Delicious food and great service.
As was our experience in past meals last Friday's dinner for four at the Homer Street Cafe was excellent and memorable. The food reminded us of Mom cooking all afternoon. The service was pleasant, thoughtful and accommodating. The ambience was pleasant.
We had a reservation for two and we seated on the top level. After being served our wine, the waiter suggested we move downstairs as a large group were coming at 1:00 pm. Once reseated we had a nice lunch however we were reminded that someone else had a reservation for 1:30. We were there under two hours and left to finish our dessert elsewhere. Overbooking should not be the guest’s problem.
