Homer Street Cafe & Bar
Housed in two of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings, Homer St Cafe and Bar is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
Classic comfort cooking takes center stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. It’s chicken that’s the star here: served in quarter, half or whole portions, accompanied by classic sides basted in jus.
A decidedly adventurous wine and cocktail list rounds out the menu. The restaurant features two spaces that consist of an open concept kitchen “Chef’s Bar” where one can get up close and personal with the culinary team, a semi private dining room with reclaimed factory windows, and bespoke seating complemented by antique tiling.

Best rotisserie chicken! Great meal, fantastic service.
Entertaining out of town guests.
Food was delicious, service was excellent.
This was my 2nd time for dinner and I've also been twice for brunch. Consistently good and a place I will continue to go back to.
Great food and ambiance but our best rating goes to the staff. Warm, friendly, helpful and fun. They could probably make bread and water taste 5 star. Definitely recommend this restaurant. We will be back for sure.
Beautiful room, attentive & accommodating staff. Late night happy hour menu great choices.
We enjoyed it so much we booked again for the next night. It was full of people enjoying themselves. We all enjoyed our choice of food. The service from the young lady from Birmingham was professional, attentive, friendly and efficient, she accommodated all our needs.
Our table was located in a higher part of the kitchen room and we were able to see the chefs at work. We thought the ambience of the whole restaurant, up the steps, inside, outside was wonderful.
Food was delish but definitely on the small portion size. I had risotto with scallops and mussels and the mussels were 3 and tiny. Scallops and risotto was best I’ve had.
It was too loud inside so we opted to dine outside A bit chilly and waiter offered a blanket without me asking.
A wonderful place for brunch with friends. Our server was friendly and funny, and the food was delicious.
Super cool vibe. It’s nice to see restaurants open late with great patios for summer, fun cocktails and of course, happy hour!! Loved the rotisserie chicken! So moist and you could taste the brine just enough to add that little added kick. So worth the 48 hours!
Appys (tuna). Great.
Mains sadly not great. Not usual experience. Too salty Brussels sprouts. Broccolini odd taste. Scallops. Very small.
As this was a business lunch I would request a quieter table next time.
Amazing service, very loud in the room so not ideal for a date but we still enjoyed ourselves. Food was great.
Good food. Good service. Good location. A little noisy.
Love the food. One of our party found the risotto wet and not tasty. Otherwise, the usual excellent service!
We had the family meal and were wowed. Everything was too notch’s, portions were generous and the food was excellent . All the staff were attentive and personable. A great dinner.
The food and service have been great every time I’ve been to this spot. Perfect for share plates. Even the bar seating is great. Only complaint would be the noise level is high so don’t let it stop you but be prepared .
Good food great atmosphere delightful service. Definitely worth checking out.
Sat in the patio b/c weather was nice. Was a pleasant experience; very friendly and accomodating staff and the food came out promptly. I'd go back to try other food items for sure!
Creative and tasty Eggs Benedict with zesty and unique seasoning. Wonderful.
First time at this restaurant. Everything was excellent. I am gluten free and appreciated the care taken by the server to inform me about my food choices as well as how carefully they delivered my meal.
Rotisserie chicken was scrumptious !!
Our female server was tops!!! Friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. Her skill and personality added to making our dinner experience a better one.....wish I knew her name.......
Great bistro atmosphere, excellent service and chicken
Nice atmosphere. Place is very Vancouver history from the 1930. Food excellent with limited menu which we prefer.
The music and people were a bit too loud.
Delicious food as always, but what was so splendid this evening was our service. She was patient, let us sample something that we weren't sure about, and very accommodating. We really enjoyed our delicious dinner and the lavender lemonade was subtle and delicious!
Great food, the chicken is the specialty and it was delicious. Salads are a wonderful choice as well.
Chicken wing has a drumstick in the plate.
Made me feel it's the left over .
Risotto was not cooked. Still hard in the centre.
Great place. Great food. Enjoyed my lunch very much.
I ordered their signature Rotis chicken and it was underdone and tough, must have been an old bird,
the fries that came with it were way over fried almost like a potato chip the were so hard, the coleslaw was the saving grace. I would not recommend the chicken at this establishment I think you can do better
at Costco with their Rotis chicken. The service was excellent and made up for the mediocre meal.
Music quite loud especially with hard surfaces. It was a reprieve when it stopped and our table of 4 could have a conversation without having to shout to be heard. Jazz or even Top 40 would be more appropriate than whatever was playing.
Everything was brilliant at Homer St. This restaurant is perfect for every time of dining whether it is date night or it’s a business meeting or a casual evening with friends. I wished I lived in Vancouver as it would be my go to. The food was spectacular as was the service. It was the perfect way to wrap up a quick trip to Vancouver.
Love this place! Food and wine were delicious, service was so great and a nice ambience all around.
This place is great for a nice evening out with friends, date night, and also if you want some me time, sit by the bar!
Always a great choice. HSC is our most favourite restaurant in Vancouver.
not as good as first time. chicken near end of lunch was dry compared to dinner time chicken.
Great atmosphere and service. Awesome food and drinks.
I’m not one to get terribly excited about roast chicken, and certainly not enough to order it in a restaurant but hey, this is clearly what they’re known for so I talked myself into it. Boy, was I not disappointed!! Literally the best roast chicken i’ve ever had! The accompanying potatoes were only okay (some were undercooked and all lacked seasoning) but the coleslaw was nice & and chicken jus was very tasty!
My husband ordered the roast of the day: beef with (better than mine) roast potatoes and a blue cheese sauce.
I would 100% go back and in all likelihood would get the chicken again, altho prob get the fries or salad to go with.
Always consistently good. Friendly, helpful and great employees. A place for a very enjoyable evening always.
I went there to get together with friends during happy hours. When we arrived at 5pm, the place was empty but got really busy right after. The restaurant is super cute, the staff is very friendly, and I believe as efficient as they can be (a bit long, but it was indeed really busy). At some point it was too loud that I couldn’t even hear what my friends were saying.
I ordered the Happy Hour burger, cheap price but still I wasn’t impressed, didn’t taste much at all. The fries on the other hand, were super tasty ! Really loved them.
I payed quickly to free the table because they were really busy and I felt guilty staying too long while new customers were waiting to be seated ! And it’s only once home I realized I’ve been overcharged. I didn’t keep the bill, so I couldn’t check, but something didn’t add up ! Well, this is on me tho, I should have checked before paying.
I know I will go again! It was my first and only experience. That place has a lot of potential and I’m sure next time will be better.
